This reminds me of the time I used a Charizard with Dragon Dance. Before I mega evolved it, I used Dragon Dance to make my opponents think it was X, but in reality it was Y, a special attacker. The Dragon Dance was just bait and to increase speed.
@windego64 It went very well for me, I really didn't expect it. I used a new account to use it and went from 1000 to 1438 and even at that point the strategy was still working for me.
What makes Special Tyranitar pretty decent is while its Attack is a great 134, it also has a pretty good 95 Special Attack; even without any investments, special attacks can be useful for offensive Ttar sets, especially against physically bulky Pokémon that cound switch into it; examples including Ice Beam for Zygarde 50% or Flamethrower for Kartana/Scizor (which can be risky, but if you play it right...). Another boon for Tyranitar is its' ridiculous coverage of offensive attacks, getting a lot of different moves across generations; you can adapt the movesets to your liking with little limitations. Tyranitar is one of the best examples that versatility leads to viability.
We've known this since Gen 3. Dragon Dance TTar has nearly perfect coverage with Rock Slide and Earthquake, and can pick up unexpected kills with Fire Blast for Skarmory, Ice Beam for Flygon and Claydol, or Hidden Power Grass for Swampert.
That might've been the most wasted Latios I've ever seen. Also if you're going to run a fighting move on Lokix for some reason.. Why not the way stronger Axe Kick?

How did it go in practice?

I knew Chilly was great for using AB:Epic music, but ANGRY BIRDS GO!?
I have an idea. Make a full Adaptability team, but with one little twist...
...no one actually has the ability.
The focus blast miss into crit freeze ice beam is absolutely tragic
The consequences of using Focus Miss

Naming TTar "Dragon Dance" is just foul lmao
