If your daily commute is 30 miles total, plug-in hybrids are great, and if you have a charger at work you can go 60 miles total in a day on electricity alone. Makes perfect sense IMO. Want to go on a road trip? or going longer than 30 miles? Well, the gas kicks in automatically. Beautiful design, great practicality for close commutes.

Well said. The hybrids make more practical dense that a full on EV...at least within the USA where EV charging stations are limited

Another nicely presented review...watch the roof lining though with those 8x4 sheets of plasterboard at 6:04 :)

As far as I know the spoiler has nothing to do with downforce, but it's mainly for reducing draft/vacuum behind the car

These hybrid cars make no sense from a private buy. They're a stop gap for company car drivers for P11d tax savings but nevertheless still expensive compared to full EVs. Essentially these hybrids are commercial tools for manufacturers to keep selling cars. I've got the 50TDi which gives more range, effortless to drive and on the whole more efficient and cheaper on a daily basis. 👍🏽

This is the 55TFSI e Competition. It’s very high spec, oddly this came out last year although it’s had very little advertisement and hasn’t been available to configure on Audi’s website although you can lease them and purchase outright as of recently. They have as of one week ago added the A7e to their site and available to configure but it’s a 50 e and it follows the standard trim lines. Sport, S Line, Black edition etc. Very odd regarding what the point in this model was for and why it’s so hard to find much information on it or to even buy one

Indeed you're correct. Found that odd too - made reviewing the car harder when the spec isn't available online to order!

What is the maximum speed on electricity only? Just thinking if it would be suitable for me who commute partly on a highway.

Good question, should have mentioned this in the review, sorry! It's 83mph in all electric, 155mph with the ICE. So yes, would be perfectly eco-friendly for all use cases.

What’s the combined mpg? That’s the main thing I need to know

12:48 we came full circle in this EV scam.
my 1.6 lt QG16DE does 35 mpg and has done that for almost 25 years.
my 2.0 lt PE-VPS does 38 mpg and it's on the latest euro-scam
this A7 is posted with 150 MPG and it doesn't pay road tax because it's "green", you have to lug around 2000 kg of garbage and you really end up with 40 mpg.
my 3k KE55 does over 40 mpg and it's a 47 year old shitbox from toyota and it's more spacious to "carry" things with these liftback/sportsback bodies.
I don't trust this 40 mpg, as when I borrowed a 1.2 TSI Polo, the fuel consumption was over 8 lt/100km, while driving it the same as my QG16DE nissan. I guess it wastes more fuel to give you that 100hp, than a 25 year old 1.6lt NA nissan.
after audisteer, we now have audiscam.
