Probably one of the best looking BMW's ever made with one of the best sounding engines produced in combination with the perfect transmission. Huge props to the owner of this car. Looks mad fun.
E92 is much better looking imo

Most modern cars are sluggish cause of long gears... the 2017 180 cla is one example 😅

It's a manual car with 2nd to 6th that are too long.
In the 2008 SAAB 1.9 diesel they are percectly geared.
In my country gas is close to 10$ gallon and big displacements are heavily taxed.
It's normal to have small engines here.
Long gearing makes the driving experience trash, that's a fact.
You can feel that the engine is slugghish cause the gearing is just wrong.
In the Cayman that has 400hp the gears are too long also, is that underpowered ?
S85 + DCT + E46 M3, is probably the best bmw combo you could have, i’d bet its faster than a stock g80 around the track
the closest thing we would have in real life would be the e92 m3 gts which did it in 7:48 compared to 7:38 of the g80 m3 RWD, with its DCT, S65 but obviously lighter than the standard e92 and would be closer in weight to this car here so i'd say it would be close im not sure if it could pull it off though

I just can't imagine the amount of money, time, and effort that took to make this thing work, what a marvel.
Moneywise if you buy a donor car not that much, but effort and timewise... 😮

@@MrMarshy123456 the dme/ecu from Elise Racing is around $6-7k. Everything else is relatively easy depending on the platform.

Glad the US got blessed with 1400 manual E60 M5's.
Mark my words, those cars are going to skyrocket in value in a few years.
And they already have, since a few of the 1400 cars have already been totaled out.

@@Petrik_33 BMW knew. So much so that they made a one-off which was basically an M5 E60 CSL, combined with a larger V10 (5.7L), some 630 hp, lower weight (lots of carbon fiber)...and the E92 M3's DCT transmission.
Too bad they never released it.
That V10 sound is awesome! It sounded almost identical to a Huracan at some points of the video. But near the end with the windows open sound it got even better! Great build!
Huracan is really a shit representation of a v10 sound. Sounds more to the direction of a Audi 5 cyl. Too deep

Hurracan is an odd-firing V10, this is an even-firing one. Its frequencies are more akin to the likes of 1st gen Gallardo (2003-2008), Porsche Carrera GT, Lexus LFA. All of these are even-firing V10's and sound much better than the odd-firing ones (2nd gen Gallardo [LP560], Huracan, Dodge Viper, etc].

What a cool car! I just sold my E46 M3 6MT after 10 years of ownership and replaced it with an F87 M2C DCT. Driving the M2C with DCT makes me realize how much I hated the E46 M3 6MT transmission. Even with CDV delete and an AutoSolutions 30% reduction shifter on the M3, I like the M2C DCT much more. It would be very cool to have an E46 M3 with an S54 / DCT. That would be a fun combination.
And i gave back my M2C with Track Package and bought a Corvette C6 GS in April. And now i realize how boring a M2C is 😅

I also sold my manual 6mt M2C…also had auto solutions but it never gave me that slick manual shifting experience. Ended up in a 1st gen GLA45 and I hate to say it, but even it is more fun than the m2. Lighter, DCT box is fun and I don’t care about beating on it as much haha

That engine just sounds so, so very good. And watching the speed climb? That was BONKERS! I see why a friend of mine was speechless when he got the chance to drive an M5 V10 with a 6 speed manual. THIS car is glorious though!

The E60 M5 was always faster and more powerful than BMW stated. It probably makes a lot more than 507 PS stock. Typical BMW (not complaining though). Without the top speed limiter, the E60 would reach upwards of 200+ MPH… which is crazy for a 5-seater
@@subway5907I believe stock it makes like 512 to the crank but only reason it hits 200 plus is because of the flame surfacing and aerodynamic design Chris bangles team gave the car. Not to mention the long gearing of the SMG if you get Dinan 3.91 gears top speed reduces and 0-60 increases

That is definitely an excitable speedometer that you have to restrain yourself from exercising regularly! I've seen a few E30s with the V10 swap done to varying levels of success, but none of them had the DCT box to go with it. Thumb's up to the builder for sure!
