The E-44 was intended for MOW servicw. They were built between 1960 and 1963 by GE for the Pennsylvania Railroad and were the last freight electrics built for the Pennsy. They lasted until 1981 in freight service for Pennsy, Penn Central, and Conrail. NJT purchased two for passenger service and then never used them. They sat stored at the former CNJ Elizabethport Shops until being scrapped. 502, now at the RRMPA is PRR 4465, the last one built and thankfully is a survivor of the electric empire the PRR built and wanted.
3:00 Not sure if someone pointed this out before, but minor nitpick on my part: Amtrak *never* had E6's or E7's. They only had E8's and E9's. Other than that, good video.
Don’t see the GG1 on here which I’d argue is one of the coolest electric locos and had one of the best looking Amtrak liveries they had ever put to an engine.
@@Thelefevrefever I've got it on my bucket list to come over to the US just to ride on Amtrak and do their major routes, like the Empire Builder, the California Zephyr, and etc. So, from what I've seen on TH-cam of Amtrak's routes, you blokes have some pretty amazing scenery.
What about the E and F Units of old (yes they were old by then and had mechanical issues due to being neglected but rebuilt could have been extremely good).
One thing i prefer about this video is that The Thumbnail IMO is a little bit Better Then AmtrakGuy365s Thumbnail for his Amtrak Tier List video However I'm Australian so IDC about your picks
I wonder why you went and put SNCF CC2100 in the S tier which was known as the X996 back in the 1970s? Amtrak should have also gone into West Germany for their DB Baureihe 110.3 103 120 as GG1 replacements.
You put the chargers in the higher tiers, who hurt you? And the AEM-7 in A tier while the French loco used for testing (that it sucked at) is in S tier? Why?!?!
LOL. I don’t regret some of my opinions, so that is why I’m planning to release an updated version with a few more locomotives that I missed, as well as make some changes to my previous selections. Thanks for Watching!! 🚂
in what world is the SDP40F better than the LRC? the LRC cars still make up the backbone of VIA's fleet to this day, and are leagues better than amfleet, it absolutely worked in canada, regardless of the minor issues with the tilting system. Also the LRC cars were eventually developed into the Acela cars, so the same argument that applied to the turbotrain should apply to the LRC.
The tier list is of locomotives and in the LRC case I only rated the locomotives(I did not at first know the cars where specialized). Also this is an option filled video and an Amtrak list, I did not account for VIA. LRC is now only D Tier.
You’re missing some MOW and switching locomotives. In addition, you call the GP7 an SD7, which is not correct. The “44 tonner” is actually an 80 tonner, but that’s an easy mistake to make.
@@ThelefevrefeverSure thing. You’re missing some completely regular GP40s that Amtrak leased from Helm Leasing due to an acute power shortage. Nothing different from a regular GP40 except slightly higher gearing and HEP pass through. I didn’t see CF7s, SW1s, or ALCO S-series switchers either.
Edit: EMD F40PH should be an automatic S TIER.
Can't believe Amtrak had so many locos.great video!

The Swiss 🇨🇭 did not make any Locomotives for Amtrak so far. The RC-4 is Swedish 🇸🇪 😉

am suprised he didnt dunk on the charger
You forgot the test X2000 too, just like he did.

We can all agree that the Dash-8, F40 and Genesis are S Teir
👍

That thing is horrible because it doesn’t deal with American tracks but it was really rough.
SC-44s are underappreciated and underrated. Glad they're getting some love.
TRUE. they have been for only some years and they are iconic. Coaster and ACE already use them
