Apple Tree has some of my favorite AURORA lyrics, which is saying a lot:
"Just like the moon is a stone
    But it's a star when it's dark
    And now she's hiding"
"You've seen where the knife is
    Its dark location
If I ever knew how we could fight it
I would cut into our anger
    Make pure emotion"
Also, what other "pop" star can get away with a lyric like "Can you carry the weight of mortality?"

I've never liked a lyric enough to actually get it memorialized in a tattoo.
But if I ever did.....it would probably be that snippet from the verse...
*_"...the moon is a stone, but it's a star when it's dark, and now she's hiding..."_*
It's such a concise lyric that conveys so much, both metaphorically and literally, and it just _sounds_ cool....

Says a lot of society today.. blood is life! - when women start bleeding every month it means that they can bring life in to the world. Aurora is never easy .. she has meaning in all her music and videos

I think this is one of the most underrated of her songs, especially of her older ones. It's also one I can not find any professionally recorded life performances of though which makes me come back to the music video quite often. I actually wish she had done one. Maybe a different version even.
As for your reaction, pretty much agree with all you said, especially what you said about Aurora being able to make simple lines incredibly catchy. I think that's part of her ability to achieve that emotional access to basically anybody who is actively listening. It''s direct yet profound. The best mix when it comes to communication imo.

Some years ago ( you can also see it in the mv "The Seed") Aurora often had these facepaints; they symbolise, she said, emotions (tears and smiling-wringels)

    Nice reaction Will👍
Love this song (I feel I repeat myself every time lol, but it’s true, and I don’t think she has made any bad songs)
Upon release of the music video, Aurora posted a note in the music video's description:
"Apple Tree is about the potential that hides in all of us. We can all save the world if we put our minds to it. The world won't listen to scientific proof that the world is dying, so maybe it will listen to the dreamers, the children. In a bleeding world the power of the individual is our only hope. Let her save the world. Let him save them all. Believe in us, and maybe we'll be the generation that saves the world, rather than the one that killed it."
One thing’s for sure, one cannot put Aurora in a box when it comes to genres, I would call her genre Aurora genre😉😍

Aurora started ballet lessons from age 6 and progressed into contemporary dance until she was 16.

TH-cam often removes links (for some reason..), but if you search "aurora runaway nobel peace price concert 2015" you will find the right one.

I think, she wants to tell a story, and than everything fits this goal. So if she wants some word to have a specific meaning and emotion, she shapes it the way it needs to be shaped. But that is just my guess. I have not seen the documentary, where she probably talks about it.

Ooooo, here's another I hadn't heard yet (tons left for me to discover still), and I LOVE IT!
So catchy, but super quirky/unconventional, wirh a HUGE message.
Whew, those lyrics. And ty to the W&W in these replies who're offering extra insight & context! ❤
My current favourite Aurora track is coincidentally (re: title of today's song) the one she did with French artist Pomme (ie, Apple) called Everything Matters. Aurora fans might know of a specific version that is the MOST FIRE, lol, but atm I'm just spellbound by the live version they did. Sometimes TH-cam won't let me add links to my comments so we'll see if this shows up...

    Edit: yay! It worked!
Anyway, I'm playing it on alto recorder, and sort of exploring how to recreate Aurora's vocal inflections with it. It's a remarkably expressive instrument.

Qn witing the lyric, making the melody and heavily inflicted in directing the dansing, mixing the music, editing the video and so be the main performer in all of it ? I think Aurora is One of a kind amongst the musical artist known to me. May Kate Bush was riding on the same spirit vawe. Great reaction Will !

Great reaction as always. This actually is one of Auroras videos I think is "only good", I think the blood part is taken a bit too far. It is a difficult balance I guess, how to use the video to give the message, and at the same time "not get in the way" so you "forget" the music. It is a choice, and in this one I think it is slightly wrong.... This is obv just me personal opinion/taste. And as everyone that have read my comments know : I love her art!
