As someone that has a power leeching issue, I had not considered that it could be the after market head unit the previous owner put in. Electrical is a pretty big task to take on when you don't know anything about it. Mine definitely has Electrical issues, touched one of the cigarette lighters and it threw sparks so I pulled the fuse and took it to a shop, as I couldn't get the forward facing light bars to work either. They work on hummers and even have several sitting in the lot, so I figured I was in the right place. They couldn't find the power drain and struggled to figure out how to get the light bars working. While they did work for a short while, they now are not functional again. It seems like "Mechanics" today are no longer like the Mechanics of yesterday. There was a time when you could take your vehicle to a mechanic and they could tell you exactly what was going on without a computer. Same is true of semi truck Mechanics these days. Hell I asked them to replace all my rubber hoses and redo the fuel lines at this place for my hummer and they didn't want to, now I'm glad they didn't. This same shop replaced my battery tray...as the old one had cracked the batteries (they were brand new) battery acid got onto the frame/control arms etc right below where the batteries sit. They apparently didn't think to clean the acid off those parts, which were all brand new, now they're corroded and warn looking. Will not be going back there, wish I could warn the other hummer owners that have thiers at this shop about thier shoddy service. And ontop of that, just to throw a cherry on this, the tech took no precautions to cover up my drivers seat, which is cream colored. I spent a week cleaning the black grease and oil out of the leather. Needless to say I couldn't get it all out, so it's a bit of a mess now. Pretty frustrating honestly. I wish there was some recourse we could take against people like this that end up costing you more money, doing more damage than good.
I would say it's definitely worth spending a little bit extra and having the job done correctly the 1st time around. Pay extra to get good quality and cry once. Save money to get cheap quality and cry over and over again...
I didn't truly adopt this saying into my purchasing decisions until about 2 years ago. I must say, it really is worth it. I can't count the amount of times I tried to save a buck and ended up having to spend two more. Nowadays, that doesn't really happen anymore because I only buy quality products. Not just for vehicles, but most things. Totally worth it to save up and do it right the first time... especially when it comes to vehicles. You pay for what you get
Came across a butt connector that the installer said he couldn't get his crimpers on so he super glued the wires in. Was recently told by a supervisor that if it weren't for TH-cam his techs wouldn't be able to do a lot of the repairs.
Mine had wiring that looked exactly like that. I ended up changing the entire harness from ignition switch to entire fuse panel to rear tail lights and everything in between. Good way to soak up a whole weekend but at least I know every part is uncut now
I agree. There are places that dont know what they are doing or they automotively inept. Dependent on technology but can't listen to the car. i only go to specialized places that's far and few between.
I think you should do a vlog on how things SHOULD be done...specifically the wiring since thats usually a common issue...like...show how the cut wires should be put back together instead of using electrical tape/hopes and dreams.
Both are great trans. Currently our clients prefer the LBZ LMM variants of duramax's that are mated to the 6speed trans. This engine is one of the best options as it has high output, great fuel economy, all bugs worked out with the least amount of restrictive emissions stuff. 10 speed allows the truck to stay in more of the power band but rpms and end results are about the same between the two.
Ok we get it Ryan. SO! how about showing us Your RIGHT WAY or Your shops way of fixing an electrical connection on a Hummer? If you show us the correct way then maybe these connections won’t show up at your shop or burn fire 🔥down vehicles. As you know there are limited ways to repair an electrical connection on a vehicle. So let’s see your way.
A lot of stereo places are just horrible they have some stereo places that are top notch that go above and beyond but you know those companies because they are really expensive but you usually get what you pay for
@@PredatorInc 👍🏻enjoy all the videos I’m not a car guy just a plumber but I know what quality looks like and your work/builds are top notch you guys take pride in what you do and it shows 👍🏻

Good work! One full weekend isn't bad! That's a TON of work. I'm sure it feels good knowing your truck is dialed! Keep up the good work!

100% agree!!! There are some great shops out there but hard to find!

Yo buddy! Yah for sure. Many a follow up on the repairs and how it should be done. Hope your doing great bro!
Ok I know you said you needed to walk away from it for a bit but where are we at with that supremely jacked up wagon?
Temporarily on hold do to customer projects. It will be back on the vlog soon.
@@PredatorInc That's great news. Looking forward to the update.
Wait until mine gets to you guys. The wiring on this looks professional compared to the shop that built my H1.
Oh no! No problem, we will get you dialed!! Thanks for the support!
My damn!! Looks like C-3PO when he was being built by Anikan Skywalker.
Hahaha, right!?!?!
Do you use/plan to use the Allison 10 speed on any of your builds? If not, why is the 6 speed preferable?

i see a lot of methamphetamine used in these wiring jobs
Haha, way too much! 🤣
*Take Away:*
Don't send your Hummer...

Are you trying to be politically correct 🤦🏻♀️ he it 🤦🏻♀️ PLEASE DON’T DO THAT 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 ppl watch your channel I’m sure they normal ppl !!
Nope, calling the meth head that screwed up the mounts as "it" as in not even human capable of working on a vehicle.
A lot of stereo places are just horrible they have some stereo places that are top notch that go above and beyond but you know those companies because they are really expensive but you usually get what you pay for
