- A member of Israel's war cabinet, Benny Gantz, has threatened to quit if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu doesn't outline a post-war plan for Gaza by early next month.
There's also pressure from protesters, who are calling for early elections and demanding the government do more to negotiate the release of the remaining captives held in Gaza.
Netanyahu's government has shut down Al Jazeera’s operations in Israel, so Al Jazeera correspondent Mohammed Jamjoom is reporting from the Jordanian capital, Amman.
Eran Etzion is Former Deputy head of Israel's National Security Council.
He says divisions are widening in the Israeli government.

REASONABLE PEACE PLAN BETWEEN ISRAEL AND PALESTINIANS:
Hamas leaders stand down and go into exile never to be in a political party in the region again on the condition that Palestine is recognised (Gaza And West Bank) with 1967 borders. 2 state solution with Palestine being a neutral state like Switzerland. In the interim the Palestinian Authority rules for 4yrs until there is more stability. The Arab League agree to recognise Israel when it's set in stone that Palestine is a recognised state by set date. UN peacekeepers be in the West Bank (not IDF) and in the Buffer zone between Gaza and Israel for set time as soon as the war ceases. There is a prisoner swap handled by UN peacekeepers of hostage and the Palestinian prisoners. The Gaza Marine gas field and other gas fields in their maritime ownership on a map as well as oil under West Bank belongs to Palestine. Proceeds from the natural resources go into a sovereign wealth fund to be used to rebuild Gaza and give it an economic future by being invested in other things for when the resources run out.
How about just leave the land that isn’t yours? That reasonable?
Ultimately, the resolution of this conflict hinges on the decisions of Israeli leadership.
