Is it underscored compared to other competitors inflations in USA trials, yeah IMO. These aren't international scores, whoever they want on the team gets massive inflation and who doesn't gets less inflation.

i’m waiting until people realize how good of a fit mykayla is for the team. jordan and simone are all arounders in the team final and suni would do beam and bars. mykayla could do vault and floor where she would contribute nearly 1.5 pts based on her scores for those events compared to suni’s on day one of trials. jade won’t be competing in the team event so it makes the most sense to give the last spot to mykayla (even if she drops to 5th or 6th on day 2). Although grace and kayla are good all arounders, at this point since suni is a lock they need someone to complement her weakest events, and mykayla would do that best.

In 2016, I felt Gabby was the right choice do to her UE strength, which is what was needed, her strong past, and the fact she could fill in on the other 3. Here, Mykayla is the right choice for the team because of her vault strength, which is most needed, and she could sub in if needed (suni floor, but also UE and beam if another injury occurs). also, in 2016, i couldnt tell if her trials was a fluke success due to not good nationals. But due to her consistent at college, the fact she also starting peaking at world selections in 2019, makes me believe this is a trend that mykayla peaks consistently at the right moments.

I love Mykayla, she's waited a long time for this moment and she has improved so much. 80% of me wants her to be selected for Tokyo because she's come so far but the other 20% is still worried about her inconsistency. It's so much better than it was but there are other gymnasts who seem to nail it every time with perhaps a little less difficulty. Considering what the other countries teams are looking like the US would be safe to take a lower SV for a higher EV.

THIS! She and her team have always prioritized D score over execution. She would honestly score HIGHER if she did a Chuso or just Biles I. That Moors is full of deductions, it is not worth it. She's still in the 13s for a hit routine.
She physically can't do a DLO, she doesn't get enough height, so I doubt she'd be able to get a Chuso. And her air awareness for the Moors seems to come from knowing how to do a Silivas, and then just trying to stretch it out.

Never going to happen. People have been saying “just clean up your form״ for 8 years… clearly it’s not “just” or she would’ve done it already. She had a poor foundation to her gymnastics and while she’s cleaned up somewhat it’s not going to become impeccable form ever. People need to realize that.

I really think she should go for the triple in the end night 2 (obviously if she could do it) it would push her start score from an 5.9 to a 6.0 I think and I’ve seen her train the front to triple and she lands it with less deductions. On the 2.5 she takes a large step at the end, as of what I’ve seen in her training videos, she lands the triple much better. I think if she does it at the end of her routine just like the way she does It in the gym at home, I think her score could be bumped up over a 14+

She did well this night, but damn she opened that door really wide with this one. I don't see her getting an AA spot with the coverage Simone, Sunisa and Jordan provide. @@gccstan31 Jade does not have wildly better form in the air than Myk on the Amanar. Myk has extremely clean twisting form. Her biggest deduction comes from lack of height (.3), but beside that it's just pre-flight leg sep (being picky) (.1), soft knees (.1), crossed feet (.1), step on the landing (.1), and (most likely given her recent elbow troubles) bent arm on block (.1). Jade has very obvious pre-flight leg separation (.3), lack of height (.3), and also has soft knees (.1) and crossed feet (.1). Their issues are pretty balanced out. Jade just had the benefit of sticking. Also, the odd score number comes from the fact that three judges' scores are averaged together. ETA: For some reason my brain went .8 in deductions because of the 15.2(ish) score. Dummy me forgetting the Amanar has a 5.8 DV. The fact that I was particularly harsh on their scoring and they still come out about equal really says a lot TBH. Realistically Myk probably wasn't deducted for pre-flight leg separation and some judges debated on the bent arm on her block, and Jade might've only incurred a .1 pre-flight leg separation deduction (even though IMO she warrants a .3 because it's definitely slightly more than shoulder width apart).
I honestly I feel her score should be higher I mean she stuck all landing Besides one and I think she did an anything job she deserves to be on the team this year let’s go mky!🙌🔥🔥😚

I really think she should go for the triple in the end night 2 (obviously if she could do it) it would push her start score from an 5.9 to a 6.0 I think and I’ve seen her train the front to triple and she lands it with less deductions. On the 2.5 she takes a large step at the end, as of what I’ve seen in her training videos, she lands the triple much better. I think if she does it at the end of her routine just like the way she does It in the gym at home, I think her score could be bumped up over a 14+

@@gccstan31 Jade does not have wildly better form in the air than Myk on the Amanar. Myk has extremely clean twisting form. Her biggest deduction comes from lack of height (.3), but beside that it's just pre-flight leg sep (being picky) (.1), soft knees (.1), crossed feet (.1), step on the landing (.1), and (most likely given her recent elbow troubles) bent arm on block (.1). Jade has very obvious pre-flight leg separation (.3), lack of height (.3), and also has soft knees (.1) and crossed feet (.1). Their issues are pretty balanced out. Jade just had the benefit of sticking.
Also, the odd score number comes from the fact that three judges' scores are averaged together.
ETA: For some reason my brain went .8 in deductions because of the 15.2(ish) score. Dummy me forgetting the Amanar has a 5.8 DV. The fact that I was particularly harsh on their scoring and they still come out about equal really says a lot TBH. Realistically Myk probably wasn't deducted for pre-flight leg separation and some judges debated on the bent arm on her block, and Jade might've only incurred a .1 pre-flight leg separation deduction (even though IMO she warrants a .3 because it's definitely slightly more than shoulder width apart).

They didn't. Her Moors deductions negate the value of the skill. She'd score higher by getting rid of it. Her form and execution have been a problem her entire career.
