Recorded in a wood floor, large, high sealing recording studio in Toronto, Canada. I moved the piano to the studio for the recording, and it took over 2 weeks to get the mic placement right. Thank you!
This is by far the best recording of this piece on TH-cam so hats off to Erez. To those studying it right now, do not form bad habits and do not push tempo too high. It's one thing to learn every note, it's another to play this piece properly and with emotion. Takes many hours of practice to master~ don't cut corners and it'll be well worth the hours. Best of luck
I've tried, and I've completed it...It's not as hard as it seems, just have to be a bit patient, actually the whole thing seems long but it's the same in some ways. If you know how to play the first passage you know how to play the second one, and the melody is quite simple, so wish everyone good luck on practicing this piece:)
Everytime i hear people play this particular piece i break down in tears. Not because they are so so excellent and professional, but because i cant play it myself. I guess ill just have to practice rigorously for 1000 centuries.... Ok bye i just have to go pass out now.
If you can play with both hands slowly, you can get it really fast. Once you know the notes, all you have to do is strengthen your fingers, which takes like a month tbh.
I used to think this piece was out of my mortal reach for years until last month when I said fuck it and tried to learn. It's not as hard as you think, and you can improve to the point of being able to play it quicker than you think.
The beginning was the most exhilarating part, and you could really see the emotion in his eyes. Bravo Chopin for this lovely piece, and bravo to you, sir, for playing it so exquisitely.
Ezekiel Toshiki I'll see how far up that ladder I can go...! I'm working on 'Walking in Memphis' at the moment, not quite Chopin - but still enjoyable, and more manageable for me :-)
this is so farking good. both the piano playing and piano sound itself. absolutely amazing. since i heard of this i've been playing this every week. the intro part is just so smooth and clear, superb technique indeed
LIstent to that base roar. Sheer POWER! You make me regret ever selling my Bosendorfer. What a beautiful instrument. And you play it so wonderfully. I learn from your videos by watching your fingering, even tone, and clarity. I've changed my way of practicing by watching you. I'm trying to use the metronome more so that I can try to play like this. Absolutely stunning . . .
I finally finished this piece! it took me almost six months and tomorrow I'm playing it in a concert! I'm so excited and I hope the hard work pays off and I won't screw it up🙈
Just returned from Poland (9-24-2011) and while there we attended a Chopin piano concert in Warsaw, the Poles have a great feeling for music and their country, I was impressed.
I really like this interpretation. It´s not that incredibly fast as the other versions I´ve seen, so you can really understand each note. Perfectly done :)
now, one of my favorite pianists, in listening to his particular interpretations of CHOPIN PIECES...Thankyou, Tzvi...very nicely done...and, SHALOM TO YOU, ;) L.
This interpretation is excellent for anyone trying to learn to play this piece. Every note is distinctly articulated, and the speed is not as prohibitive to detailed listening as other interpretations I've heard. (I'm not a critic of high speed performances - they can be very impressive, but not so helpful to us mere mortals trying to learn!)
@TheLovelyPiano VERY VERY TRUE. 1 reason why i keep coming back to tzvi's recordings are because of his base chords and octaves. No one brings out the chords better than tzvi.
One of my favourite pieces, it does require serious practice to perform (at least for most of us). Great for blowing minds when people think all I can play is rock and blues.
Every time I hear this, I want to start singing, "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows," a popular song based on Chopin's melody. I know. I know. That's sacrilege.LOL.
Hello I am a professional musician currently in my 3rd year of studying piano performance at the university level and I can tell you it depends a lot on the person and how much you practice and how you practice. But when I was learning this piece it took about two months to have it memorize I would say about three to completely master it with about 6 hours a day of practice, but that's with two other pieces and scales, warm ups, and different etudes to practice a long as well.

I can remember my late Mom playing this often on her piano. Thank you so much for your great performance.
Omg thats cool
Mom had a diploma from the U of Toronto School of Music in solo piano performance.
Definitely this is my fav version. Perfect tempo and rubato. He know how to play Chopin
Ricardo Alfonso he made the beginning of the second part really choppy
Mmmm, maybe...but this versions and the Yundi Li rendition, are the best

Truer words have never been spoken. I started working on this piece around Christmas last year and I've almost finished it by now.
Thank you. This will help
+Chris Masotti I could never please my piano teacher she spit on me saying Staccato Staccato (for left ) so I just play the melodious part
Thanks. The problem is if I play slowly I can't get the left and right hand together. Any advice?
My dream is to be able one day to play this piece.
I played this using my penis.
If you want to realise your dreams, don't sleep...

Yeah, it really is easy, but my problem is just that I don't have enough stamina :(
Karen deng thanks for that. That was a nice thing to say.
Everytime i hear people play this particular piece i break down in tears. Not because they are so so excellent and professional, but because i cant play it myself. I guess ill just have to practice rigorously for 1000 centuries.... Ok bye i just have to go pass out now.
I have the exact same thing, you are not the only one...
If you can play with both hands slowly, you can get it really fast. Once you know the notes, all you have to do is strengthen your fingers, which takes like a month tbh.
It is not "that" hard, in 3 years studying piano you could learn that with the right teacher. Hope you try it.
I used to think this piece was out of my mortal reach for years until last month when I said fuck it and tried to learn. It's not as hard as you think, and you can improve to the point of being able to play it quicker than you think.
This is the best version, EVER! All notes are really clear, the sound is amazing. Thank you, Sir Tzvi for this amazing offering!
as always, my good friend Chopin before go to sleep
OMG! What a great performance!
incredible rendition. I feel like I can understand crystal clear every note when I listen to this.
The beginning was the most exhilarating part, and you could really see the emotion in his eyes. Bravo Chopin for this lovely piece, and bravo to you, sir, for playing it so exquisitely.
why would ANYONE dislike this??? this was very well played, so beautiful!! one of my favorite piano pieces
Never come across such a brilliant Chopin rendition of Fantasie Impromptu ! A real pianist who feels music with every fibre...
I hope that when I keep taking piano lessons I wilĺ be able to do that piece
well... in 50000 years you can learn this😂 damn this is crazy :D
same here m8
I know I'll NEVER be this good!
if you practice hard enough you will ba able to play this piece :)
Ezekiel Toshiki I'll see how far up that ladder I can go...! I'm working on 'Walking in Memphis' at the moment, not quite Chopin - but still enjoyable, and more manageable for me :-)
TsviErez! You're my hero!!! I'm 14; I tried playing this piece, but it's so hard! Instead, now I'm playing Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor Op. Posth.
Challenge accepted on learning this peace with 8 years of experience
I hope to reach this level one day!
Przepięknie. Chopin to jest najwyższa światowa klasa. Wykonanie wspaniałe.
Bosendorfer has such a nice deep sound. So much better than a Yamaha or a Steinberg.
Steinway. Haha autocorrect.
Yamaha knows that, and they bought Bosendorfer in 2008!
Damn right.
Did you ever heard Fazioli sound? :=)
Chopin will love this
Музыка и вечность сплелись в одно!
Гениальный Шопен! Спасибо за игру!!!
Gives me chills everytime I come back and listen to this interpretation, best one on youtube.
I love the warm and mellow tone of the bosendorfer
I wish I could play this. It is incredibly beautiful.
This is an inspiring piece and that Tzvi can play it with such ease and composure is a gift to me
I'm in tears, I have never heard anything so beautiful.
Vous êtes précieux sur notre terre Monsieur TzviErez
Merci! .
not only the pianits is fabulous here but the camera-man is great following the steps of him 0:58
Nada mas bello que escuchar una dulce melodía, tal como lo es esta, una pieza de arte que llego hasta el fondo de mi corazón.
You are my favorite pianist ever. You inspire me to get better! Thank you for posting these videos. I really love watching them!
Extraordinar! Mi-as da 2 ani din viata sa pot sa fac si eu asa ceva!
The best performance of fantasie-impromptu I have ever listened!
amazing, awesome! I'm in love with chopin, always and forever.
this is so farking good. both the piano playing and piano sound itself. absolutely amazing. since i heard of this i've been playing this every week. the intro part is just so smooth and clear, superb technique indeed
still listening to this. too addicted. just love how he played the introduction
Chopin took the cake on this one. My favorite.
my favorite version! the sound is so clear!!
That bass... Bosendorfers are just awesome.
LIstent to that base roar. Sheer POWER! You make me regret ever selling my Bosendorfer. What a beautiful instrument. And you play it so wonderfully. Just feeling the 18th century life with kings and queens in the castle... so wonderful song... phenomenal
It's crazy the people who can play this! But even more incredible.. Imagine chopin composing this! BRAVO to both!
The only thing I can offer in exchange of such an amazing interpretations are my words: Thank you.
I finally finished this piece! it took me almost six months and tomorrow I'm playing it in a concert! I'm so excited and I hope the hard work pays off and I won't screw it up🙈

As expected from Chopin

Intenso, lacerante. Sei un grande pianista, complimenti.
I just recently mastered this one, but I'm no where near as good as this guy. He's absolutely fantastic!!!
Someone was playing this piece as I was coming out of Toulouse railway station and I felt I was experiencing Heaven on Earth.
Heaven on Earth by which you mean the beverage?
No. drink was far from my mind.
EXCELLENT, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!
Not a really huge fan of pianos, but THIS is a clear exception.
You. Are. Amazing.

Amazing piano playing TzviErez!!!!! I was waiting for smoke to come out from your fingers!!!!! Hehe..... Keep up the amazing work!!!!!
This is the Original manuscript by Chopin. You can find it published as part of the Chopin Impromptus publication of G. Henle Verlag (Germany).
I just watched the movie called "Impromptu," which is about Chopin relationship with George. This song was on it. Such a beautiful song.

Every note is distinctly articulated, and the speed is not as prohibitive to detailed listening as other interpretations I've heard. (I'm not a critic of high speed performances - they can be very impressive, but not so helpful to us mere mortals trying to learn!)
Most perfect thing I have ever listened to
I must tell you played this melody better than anybody on TH-cam!
@TheLovelyPiano
VERY VERY TRUE. 1 reason why i keep coming back to tzvi's recordings are because of his base chords and octaves. No one brings out the chords better than tzvi.

The most amazing pianist of this century...
Thumbs up!!! I love HIS PIANO!!!
Every time I hear this, I want to start singing, "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows," a popular song based on Chopin's melody. I know. I know. That's sacrilege.LOL.
You're the best pianist I know!
You can tell he plays from the heart. He seems also very humble. Not pompus at all. Beautiful.

Absolutely captivating...
es increíble la amanera en la que la música te llega y te llena
well played! - Also your intepretation of the first ballade. It's a calmed, clear playing without excessive expression. Well done, I like it:-)
You should make a video on the trick to learning this song, it's so amazing but difficult!
