My favorite instrument of all time is the Sitar. It sound so lush and full and it can have everything from like deep almost cello sounds to twangy telecaster/guitarish sounds, plus the ragas are all very beautiful sounding and I love learning about a new raga or a new way to approach it.
If you like being close to your instrument, i suggest a harmonica. It doesnt get much more intimate than that 😅 I love that you mentioned melodica though. It is an underrated and underutilized instrument, which is a shame because it has a lot to offer.
This is impressive. For the musically impaired, can you say how far you can take each instrument? The recorder? The harmonica? The melodica? How far can you take those instruments in regards to playing music.
I bought, on a whim, this odd instrument called a CODA ocarina. Or rather, two as the first one was destroyed by my dog. It's a bit different from most wind instruments because it's a two octave fully chromatic ocarina with the same fingering for both octaves (middle c to upper upper C).
Oooh I was playing tenor recorder along with your melodica here and got the impression they might mix really well. Have you made any recordings of that pairing? I need to buy a melodica. Great video!
Can you recommend which brand(s) are best (price with good quality) for the melodica and steel tongue drum? I've been looking at drums but found a confusion of sizes, pitches, prices, and trustworthiness (lots of scam sites). The melodica I found ranged from $50 to $200 and there's no way to determine quality for money. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
I got a Hohner melodica that I'm pretty happy with. My steel tongue drum was made by VEVOR. The melodica was $50 and the tongue drum I got was about $80. I'm sure there are other good options out there but both of these instruments have held up and were ready to be played on arrival.

Great video! I am only now starting in music, but I am absolutely fascinated by it, so your content scratches an itch for me hahaha

Oooh that does sound pretty. I'll have to get my tenor recorder skills up
What advice would you have for learning more than one instrument at a time, especially for someone starting from scratch?
goated vid
I came across a Chinese violin at a thrift shop, have you ever used one? Cool videos btw 😇
Yeah, I got an erhu about two years ago and have yet to get a good sound out of it, but it's still fun
How much should we practice ukelele per week..without a teacher?
30 minutes a day, 6 days a week is usually a good starting point for any instrument
@@AnnaElizabeth-Music Ok..Thank you😊👍🏻
