Yup. We march around under the sun with wooden fake rifles on the weekends in ROTC and civilian "army training". And nobody ever brought in a real firearm for familiarization in all those 4 years of required civilian training. The only people who have ever held a rifle in the Philippines are police, military, the very rich, criminals and rebels. The majority of Filipinos have lived and died without experiencing handling a firearm, much less experienced shooting one.
Good, now we're actually can build our own weapons than buy outside our nation, we should also develop not just small arms but our ships, our vehicles as well restore our former steel companies and build our own brand.
Keep it up, hope these products get better. In reality I have made a better rifle in my living room here in the US than those. But atleast it's a start. Seems like a early 2000s style AR.. needs more innovation, but it's a start!

What are you talking about?! That barrel is even thicker than a regular M16 barrel. It looks more like a bull barrel. A pencil barrel is a skinny, lightweight barrel. You don't know what you're talking about.
I think they're already changing their machine guns with the light machine guns(5.56) like what Singapore did when US marines also changed their SAW(?) to IAR27(?). I don't know if it's the PH Army or Marines, or both tho.

We still do us the old M16A1's, but the ones shown here (to my knowledge) are modern variants using the same or similar furniture to save money. Quadrail handguards and collapsing stocks are more expensive to manufacture compared to the polymer fixed stocks and handguards.
Remington R4 is a mistake specially if they keep using Carrying handle because too broke in real life situation to afford a single Magnifier or optical sights.

UDMC is a known Fraud when it comes to their product. Due to bid irregularity, they are now disqualified from supplying 19,000 units of 9MM pistols to PCG. their CEO has not been honest about their products and services, and has a poor reputation in our community.
It'll be nicer if this so called "locally made rifle" put their prices up base on the manufacturing cost and not base on what's the price of basic 5.56 on the market.. yes it's nice that we have a locally made rifles.. but the owner of this companies milking the civilian market for a price that's almost 3x more the manufacturing price of the rifle
Why look for Adjustable Stocks when these forces barely use Body Armor? Even U.S. Forces readying for Jungle Fighting are dropping the heavy plates common in OEF/OIF campaigns.
Its just copy American M16 or M4 if the gun look like titanfall i would be amazed because half the guns in titanfall / Apex legends manufacturer in Philippines
