    your food looks really good! let me give you a "yeast tip"- i used fresh yeast for years with many fails until someone taught me to just use try instant dry yeast instead. it is fool proof- always works, no fails, doesn't get bad (i keep it in the freezer) and it doesn;t even need hot water! once you start, you will never go back to fresh yeast...i hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

    I knew they would be good when the dough rose and the popped up in the oil. Always enjoy visiting with you Chana. I took some apple pie from the freezer for us to enjoy when we come home from RCIA this evening.Oh and tell your husband I will be by for fish, chips and onion rings. They looked amazing to me.

    Hi there, Looks like a fun time. Regarding the donuts the yeast is fine most likely it just requires cooler water. Water should be warm, not hot (it kills the yeast). Best wishes.

      I enjoy your videos 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼I also bake lots of yeast recipes. 80-90* is a good temperature for yeast, slightly warm on your wrist is good. Thank you for sharing your orthodox ways-Beautiful.

    Also, check Giselle Waldner's channel. She may be able to help you with gluten free baking. She lives on a Hutterite Colony and is the gluten free baker for her colony. I think her brother has Celiac. Anyway, she seems to have perfected many things that are gluten free.

    Thank you for this great video! Your doughnuts looked really nice. You and your husband are such great chefs!! Have you ever thought of doing/making/publishing a cookbook of all of the wonderful recipes you and your husband make? I bet it would be a big hit. You could even give the profits to your synagogue. I love watching you both cook. Such fun!

      Hi Bethany! I have thought about a cookbook... but I don't know if I have enough recipes or if I have enough recipes that re enough "my own" if that makes sense. I have no clue how much you need to change a recipe before it's "yours", you know what I mean? So the stress of that holds me back lol I may be overthinking it lol

    Where did you get your menorah?? It is beautiful. I have never seen menorahs with oil burning. I have only seen candles. What type of oil is used to burn?? Also all orthodox men I have seen have the side curls ( I think the word starts with a p). Does your son's and husband have these?? Thank you.. Erica Jensen

    I had the understanding that Dogs were unpure in Judism and in other monotheistic religions. 🤔 As a Gospel believing Christian I am confused that you have a dog . Can you or another person answer this for me? Not trying to critique or criticize.... just wondering🥰Thanks

    • @annefinlayson6021
      @annefinlayson6021 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in the UK, a Christian country, and we are known as a nation of dog lovers, so dogs are definitely not considered impure here. Like you, I am not trying to critique or criticise but if you are a Christian, surely you consider yourself part of one of the monotheistic religions, so am a little puzzled by your question. Do you consider dogs impure ? I would be really interested in hearing from you. 🤔 As for Hannah, I love your videos. I find your attitude to life so refreshing and you just seem to take everything that happens in your stride, not always easy with 3 lovely kids and sweet little Bella. Please keep them coming. 🥰
