fun fact: the Smash Ultimate remix of We're the Robots is credited under ZUNTATA, which is Taito's in-house sound team that ZUN named himself after. they also make Touhou arranges for Taito games (Groove Coaster and Touhou Spell Bubble mainly)
What Megaman needs is a short video game where you have to face off against every single robot master ever in a massive boss gauntlet. You would be given every single power up at full charge, meaning you can switch to any power at any time, but you would not know who you’re going up against next. Once you’ve beaten all 88 or 90 bosses, you would then go up against a one-phase Dr. Wily that has two health bars, and his machine would also be able to use any power up.
That was already made, sort of. There's a fangame that allows you to fight every robot master from Megaman 2 at once, and you get all the weapons and 4 E-tanks, and you can modify a .txt file to change what enemies appear. There was a guy who filled the stage with Metalmen and started throwing Metal Blades just to see which died first, him, or the Metal Men. Everyone died.
Interesting fact: According to Death Battle, the canonical reason why Mega Man doesn't keep Robot Master Weapons between games is because when he has more than eight, he starts to go crazy. Plus, most Robot Masters aren't normally evil, but were reprogrammed by Dr. Wily, and Get reprogrammed back after he's defeated.
Now...what is the theory behind Touhou Music? It is so recognizable and unique, and there is so much of it made by just one person, that patterns tend to show up. How easy it is to replicate the style?
Late as fuck but here's some: It's a lot about the chords, Touhou music uses a lot of minor scale and the VI-VII-i chord sequence (different progressins that include those chords also work, another very common one is i-III-IV-VI-VII), as well as eastern sounding melodies, arpeggios are also quite common, specially the "theme of eastern story" one (the one that sounds in every title screen theme from the windows games). There's probably more to it but that's what I can identify as Touhou Music Patterns(™)
Yeah, it reminded me of that too! I think it’s the drums at around 1:12. I actually listened to this before I ever heard The Gensokyo The Gods Loved and I was surprised to hear that similar sounding drum pattern.
I'm not a big fan of the Touhou Series style of music, but this...well, this is particularly godly. It may actually curb my thoughts about this musical style. :)
in this game, you collect galaxy man tokens to summon various types of galaxy man to get resources, score or more galaxy men, all while Dr.(R/L)ight attempts to start an uprising over religious reasons. in the EXTRA Stage, you find out it was, indeed, just Dr.Wily again. with the help of Tengu Man, he throws EGGS in your face.
As much as I love this theme and feel it has a huge potential for Touhou style arrangements, this just feels like slapping the zunpet and other synths over a midi and it's a bit dissapointing. It's a good listen, but not completely convincing as a touhou style song.
"A Mega Man/Touhou crossover! Who'd have thunk it, eh? Well, I would, knowing I'd have to cross them over eventually to prove my point that the blue bomber is *infinitely* better than that stupid franchise with the anime girls that just *had* to shoehorn themselves into the plot of *my game!*" ~Shadow Freddy, 2015 "Excuse me?" ~Shadow Flandre, 2015 Damned be those leaking protagonists! I swear I'm going to have their personalities changed if they leak info on my works once more! (No teaser image required. XD) Oh, and the remix is pretty sweet too.

Oh god, yes.

As a Mega Man and Touhou fan, this is a lovely remix!

We're the Robots ~ Magical Mind Mechanism
I especially love the key changes
Hearing the ZUNpets take center stage at the part a minute in is what I was eagerly waiting for and it didn't disappoint
this arrangement reminds me of The Gensokyo Gods Loved. awww now i can imagine nitori and rock interacting, that’d be adorable!

Who would win, Reimu Hakurei or Mega Man?
my money’s on reimu tbh

Well it is made with samples. Not the real thing ZUN uses
I don't like the original all that much, but this kicks so much ass.
