  • #Branson Mo is known as the "Live #Music #Show Capital of the World" and it's shows like the Hughes Brothers' produce that have made this small mid-western town in the heart of America be able to live up to that statement. Arriving in Branson in 1994, there were 5 brothers on stage, today in 2019 there are over 45 family members performing. Here's the story...
In 2000, the Hughes Brothers took over the former Roy Clark Celebrity Theatre, Bransons landmark theatre in the heart of town, where they stage more than 225 shows per year. While its common for most shows in Branson to claim they are good family shows, the Hughes Brothers have a special right to that claim. Their Branson show has grown to include well over 45 immediate family members and they are known as the World's Largest Performing Family. Recipients of multiple awards, perhaps the Branson Tradition Award was one of their favorites as it is given to the show that best represents Branson's family values, exemplifying how a family can accomplish great things through hard work, perseverance, faith, and goal-setting (talent helps too!).
The five brothers include Marty, Jason, Adam, Ryan, and Andy. "It's the family thing," said Andy, youngest of the five multi-talented brothers. "People love the fact that we're doing this together as a family and enjoying it." The Hughes Brothers totally produce their own show. Marty earned a music degree with a recording emphasis at Brigham Young University, where he was honored with the Dean's Award for Music in the Media two years in a row. He directs the musical & vocal arrangements for the show. Jason is the director and choreographer of the show. Besides all of the years dedicated to being a member of the Hughes Brothers group, Jason still found time to play more than 30 leading roles in musical theatre. Among Adam's many interests are film, lighting, and graphic design. Having pursued a film major, he oversees lighting design for the show, and is the primary graphic designer for the company. Ryan is outstanding on everything from country ballads to Broadway showstoppers. Vocally very versatile, Ryan does impersonations of everyone from Kermit the Frog to Jimmy Stewart. His ad-libs have inspired many of the shows best comedic moments. Ryan is also responsible for the accounting department for the theater. Andy, the youngest, jokingly says, "My job is simply to look good." Still, he rounds out the group with his beautiful tenor vocals and strong stage presence. He is also the technical and stage manager of the group, as well as in charge of theater maintenance. If anything needs to be done, Andy always makes sure it gets done.
Today the shows produced at the Hughes Brothers Theatre are the Hughes Music Show and the Hughes Brothers Christmas Show. This short documentary was created in 2010 and gives some more background on the family.
