    An excellent video! Thank you for filling up the time with very useful information and good filming. Unlike many "HOWTO" videos, there was no useless commentary here.
    Excellent!

    Thanks for the thorough walk-through. I have read elswere that you are not supposed to use grease on the pawls. Instead, use Shimano or Magura mineral brake oil, or a similar very fluid oil. I have done this with success myself, but it does dry out over the winter (I have had to reapply oil every spring because of a screeching noise from the freehub when the wheel is coasting).

    I see see how the non-drive side is locked without tightening everything down onto the hub - no problem very good. However, I really struggle with the drive-side. There does not seem to be anything locking the nut on that side. I find that after I have follwed your procedure I end up with either the drive-side nut so loose that I can remove it by hand, or so tight that the axle is rubbing. What am I missing?

      As per the video at 18:10 you should nip tight the freehub end first and then remove the freeplay at the non-drive side.

    What can I do if one the small springs on the pawls snaps? Does anybody know what millimeter they would be or if they sell replacement pawls for the hub?

    That tightening at the end is so fiddly! I can't seem to get it right... Oh well, French engineering...

    Whats the size of the bearing?

    • @markpdouglas
      @markpdouglas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      2 of them are 608-2RS (22x8x7 - a very common skateboard bearing) and 1 is 6001-2RS (28x12x8 - a very common bike wheel bearing). If I was to tweak the process at all, I would say just leave the non freehub nut/locknut alone. They don't need to come off at all and just mean you have to faff around getting the projecting amount of axle right when you put it back together.

    Can I do the same process to convert the qr 9mm to 12mm x 142mm? This can be done on Mavic hubs?
