Because of Mariska, Robbie where able to write better songs.Robbie: Mariska was so special, with her very own style of singing. Nowadays, she can be compared to Amy Winehouse. Mariska designed her own clothes and her mother made them. The wigs and make up, made her very sexy, but for herself, she was very modest and shy.
Long and lonesomeroad: this special mixer could do things, no other mixer could do. it can make it into a guitar booster, and has greeck influences.
Mariska and Robbie had a love and hate relationship. Robbie had no patience with her(and others too). Nowadays, Robbie admits how special Mariska was at that time. He did not realize it then in the 70's.
Before the succes of Venus, Shocking blue could perform everywhere, but after Venus, they became "commercial and not done".

Venus was never their best song, they are underrated. I have no idea how they just never got the justice that they deserved..

Er werd in die 70er jaren echt goede muziek gemaakt hier. Cuby en Livin Blues , Brainbox , Alquin, Earring , Solution en toch ook Super Sister en Ekseption( zo schreef men dat)maakten eigenzinnige Nederlands Engelstalige muziek . Langzaam mochi je dat ook mooi gaan vinden .Die 1e live dubbel😅 lp van de Earring , Runaway van Solution de 1e van Brainbox ,Mooie tijdenNiks ouwe lullen muziek .Wedden dat die platen ooit weer hip gaan worden .En Shocking Blue en Earth & Fire die kknden eigenlijk niet .Maar ik had xe stiekem toch . Kinders , jullie zullen nooit zoiets meemake. .Just lie verzuipen in een enormous berg muziek ,Allemaal goed , maar veel en veel te veel om te blijven hangen Over 40 jaar lult niemand meer over DJ Jean Wie? Precies .Lil' Kleine wordt alleen herinnerd door de moorden die huj eind jaren 30 pleegt. Niet door zijn "muziek".

Bravo! The creators of this video series deserve a standing ovation of their own! Killer live performance by SB with clarity of sound and image. No need to see the videos on other channels when the original clips are here. I do not understand all the words but the Dutch subtitles help me get a general idea. I am at A1 to beginning A2 level. Am I correct in understanding that it was a studio musician who contributed the electric piano part of "Venus" and that it complemented Klassje's bass line???
