The last pro tip I recommend is counting the cards in your deck + discard to see what's in your hand next turns.

I store New Age, Outcasts, Legacy in the Legacy box.

Call of the Void is fun to use with the Molten Peridot, BTW.

At 1:54:40, the cards you are playing do *not* give you more aether if Mel discards... they instead are the ones that give you charges if discarded during her turn. So you should have only had 3 aether.

1:22:40 I agree with Mel. Mel got my idea. it was better to shot the spark if you need space cause you want to buy cards with aether

I have won the game twice against that nemesis via buying the deck out. We have four mages though. Its really easy too, especially if you use the relic "Destiny forager" (or something), so you can acquire cards from the dream carousel and destroy bad cards in your hand.

Oh yeah and on the topic of holding cards in hand, that’s very similar to putting a card on top of your deck. If you wouldn’t put that card from your hand on top of your deck, the holding it instead of wasting it to find a new card is pointless.

I have little criticism or, let's say, advice for Mel :D Mel is often holding some cards in hand. I would say that is the opposite of what you should do to optimize. It has huge consequences/impact for the future if you think about it.

38:50 False Mel. the starting deck has specific order depicted on the mage board

Honestly most times Rob tries to alpha game Mel she’s right and he’s wrong :p

Hahaha. Honestly a lot of the times I am mistaken for "Alpha Gaming" anyone, I am actually just trying to suggest more options to generate discussion. I really don't care what choice is made, but I love how many decision points are in the games we play. Players, including me, can get really narrow minded when playing games. Suggesting other lines of play is a habit I picked up teaching so many people games off camera and also trying to show off the various decision points to my audience in videos over the last 7+ years. It fascinates me how people think one choice is right/wrong when there are so many random factors at play in most games. As long as people get a kick out of it, I will play it up. Thanks for the feedback. 😀

@@RobsGamingTable to be honest it kind of annoys me. Like if it works for other people then great but I don’t like the game screeching to a halt because Rob is trying to talk over Mel’s decisions.
I’d prefer like, inverse alpha gaming. When a really hard decision comes up, ask for feedback from your partner, so discussion comes up without it feeling like you’re just talking over eachother? But if what you’re doing works for you then fine I guess

FYI theres typo with the next nemesis. Refer to the mat and not the reference card :/

  • @sedlak87

Mel was buying too many cards. The optimal maximum is, I would say, 15.

I mean, it is thief of Dreams, so this situation is an exception

@@derrickvo9292 I would argue that huge deck is worse that spending 3AE to destroy a card from dream mat

2:16:00 why did Mel cast spark?
