The reason Ryan didn't win is because everytime you hit space bar the word you're typing changes. Ryan was probably using spacebar in between words

I think I've found the source of the all the hate on Jack... remember at RTX2013 when Joel gave Jacks (fake) phone-number out? The fanbase was divided into the people that thought Jack was being a bitch and whinging about it when it was just a joke, there were those that jumped to his defense and said "dick move" to Joel. When it was revealed that Joel had swapped the SIM cards around, the "dick move" people went, okay then, so it didn't really do any damage, and shut up. Leaving only the anti-Jack group still vocal.
I don't think that was the initial split, but it did play a big part in the end. Either way, people need to just accept people for who they are, ya know?

I have been doing this too long for it to be incorrect.
All I do is add one tally a week to my notepad, so it would be impossible to get it wrong at this point. I do however, appreciate your concern for accuracy.

for those wondering what was happening, they were of course playing on the hardest difficulty and what that meant was that whoever typed the word out first got the points and since Jack was the one typing the word first, he would get the points as well as the word then changing. that's why the words kept changing for Ryan because he just wasn't typing fast enough. now about his PC dying i actually can't answer on that one lol
I've had this happen before. His hard-drive literally said I can't handle what you are doing (which was recording and playing a game at that quality) and did as Gavin said. When that happened, I had to replace my own hard-drive and get a new operating system. So yeah, Ryan just lost a laptop because of that.

Rule for Hardcore mode (that they played on) :
1. Case Sensitive
2. Space sensitive
3. Make a mistake = word change.
The third one was probably what was messing Ryan up so much, you could hear him say that the words would change on him in the video as well.

When Jack would stop typing, Ryan would score points, it worked for most of the game, Jack just has better typing skills. And by the time Ryan's computer did crash, Jack was already so far ahead that it didn't really matter.
the fact that it crashed should have been a big issue to say that it needed to be a re-match at that moment

There were multiple words where it would show where Ryan was in the word and then it would just completely reset the word, and from the conversations, it sounds like the words would just up and change. I'd like to hear how the motherf***er difficulty works, just to make sure. Ryan would have probably still lost though, either way.
When Ryan's computer crashed I lost it. That was some of the funniest shit I've seen in a while. Ryan's computer felt bad for him so it ended the misery.

I love how Ryan has probably done more damage in ever trying to get AH into PC gaming than anything ever could. Nearly everytime he does something with the PC/net it messes up and causes Geoff or someone to make a PC gaming joke.
If he seriously wanted to convert them he would use something other than a shitty laptop. It's really difficult to have enough space and airflow in a laptop to be able to be a competent gaming machine.
Jack was so good he blow up Ryan's computer. Thats how good he was doing.
I feel that Ryan has officially supplanted Gavin as the worst challenger in the office; not because of his win percentage, but because I think nobody else has gotten steamrolled so often in the games they have picked.
To be fair to Ryan, he probably feels terrible from when we challenged Michael to quake in the first few episodes of Versus. I'm pretty sure he got so much hate from viewers, because he actually challenged using a game he would knew he would rock him in. Same goes for when Jack challenged Gavin to Trials, Jack had to justify it by saying Gavin beat him in Trials PIG in the past when he got flamed by viewers for his poor choice.

My theory is Ryan would mess up and hit backspace by memory, which actually cancels what your typing letting you switch targets

Or if they think the content is getting boring if you don't want to watch don't its a simple as that I have been watching RT and AH videos for as long as they make them and I still find them funny. I play on console. I know PC is better in most things. Console might be better if you want to play with friends on the same screen but that's about it. PC has better performance, better graphics, more games and you could also use controller a controller if you wanted to. Oh and there's one more thing that's better on console... GTA V ;)

Honestly I think everyone is entitled to their opinion but shouldn't enforce it unto others. Share it, elaborate on it, have intelligent discussions, yes, but the majority is, "Fuck PC because money," "Fuck Xbox because limited hardware." People are just as bad on both sides, trust me on that. Heck, you basically just did as much and called me arrogant just for merely being a PC gamer. You grouped EVERYONE into one demographic. There is a thing called the vocal few, that is the reason people think Console gamers think this, or PC gamers think that, or all Atheists are anti-religion and think everyone else is wrong and stupid. Christians are all super preachy and push their religion onto you. That just isn't the case, it isn't truth, yet people group everyone into a hard set train of thought and it is a gigantic negative magnet that just doesn't exist. I know many Atheists that don't hat religion, I know many PC gamers that don't hate consoles, I know many Christians that are open to people choosing their own path, and I know many very respectable Console gamers.
***** Have PC for pretty games, got an Xbox 360 for online play, Halo, and Rock Band/Guitar Hero, they have their pros and cons. Another one I haven't seen mentioned. One's always sure that a game they're playing on console is going to be playable and (usually) smooth. If you have a PC, it can be a lot more finicky than that, making sure your settings are optimised and whatnot, but the quality can be loads better with a good machine.

I think Ryan was having problems with his PC. And I know what happend, actually (it used to happend in my old PC). His Laptop had some seconds of delay, because it could not handle all what was going on. After some minutes of working at over 100%, the Laptop over-heated and had to force the restart.
I'm not gonna say that it should be a rematch, since it was kinda unfair. It would kill the fun. But I dare to say that it could been way different if Ryan's Laptop wasn't that fucked up. Oh well, shit happens I guess.
No, because when they let him type he got the points. It was whoever completed the full word first I believe and if you mis-typed one letter it didn't let you compete in typing that word.

Hmm. I would love to see this game played again to see if it was the Laptop or Ryan that was the problem. Because it looks like Ryan's Laptop's Hard drive was dieing during the game and would cause the system to be slow to respond to keyboard commands.

for example, "Russian roulette" and "Baked beans" (only two I can remember without rewatching the video)

my point is, perhaps that's part of the problem. Ryan's game was glitching out right from the start (possibly as part of what caused Ryan's computer to crash), showing him words that he tried typing when he was supposed to be typing different words that weren't being shown because of the error

I like how everyone is getting all riled up and acting like the AH crew intentionally robbed them of a good episode or put out a bad performance. Ryan picked a game without knowing how much better Jack was going to be at it than him and then his PC broke. End of story. This wasn't a "shitty episode" or a "total failure" because this is a comedy channel and this episode was funny, like everything they produce. If you come here for the actual thrill of the competition and not just to have a laugh you're severely missing the point.

Except we don't know if it was based on what Ryan was doing or if the computer was dying and thus had a slower response time. I mean, a computer shutting down and refusing to boot isn't exactly a normal occurrence.
First Nidhogg lagging now this?! My 4.5 year old homebuilt machine running Windows Vista may be slow, underpowered, and graphically inferior, but at least it's reliable, for the most part. I'd expect more from a $1000+ laptop designed specifically for gaming, by a company who makes gaming hardware...

agreed^^ i had to use my laptop for the last 5 months (since i began a work&travel-trip throughout the uk), that thing sucks compared to my pc at home.. :D (of course it depends on hardware, battery-life and its purpose, but i prefer home-pc's anyway)

If I'm going to be honest, when it's just audio, particularly when they're playing GTA V, I have a hard time differentiating Jack from Ryan.

I don't know how people have problems differentiating Ryan and Jack's voices. They each have a specific tone to their voice, you can hear it so you know which one is which.

Ryan probably should have scouted out Jack's wpm before choosing this sort of game. If you're in the 50-60 range and you're opponent is 80+ of course you're going to get dunked.

I think what made me laugh the most in this episode was when jack said it was an id10t error, for those who don't speak leet(1337) he pretty much called Ryan an idiot
When Ryan said that he was a PC guy, what exactly did he mean by that?
I'm guessing that he prefers pc versions ( usually because most pc games are moddable)... however is still only mediocre at actually dealing with his pc.
