I don't think so. I could certainly be wrong but that's a pretty specific need. I feel like like the only "easy" way to do it is export a video that is that long with that change baked into it. -David
You didn't mention Faithlife Proclaim? Easy to learn. Syncs via the cloud between machines. I created and worked on the Sunday morning presentations for our Canadian church while living in Israel. I don't consider very expensive either.
I'm running ProPresenter on a very high-end machine. It crashes *constantly.* It has only crashed once during a service since we implemented it 3 months ago but it crashed 5 times in the 90 minutes before last Sunday's service while we were working on last-minute changes. It then crashed again while I was adding some new videos to a presentation after the service. Today, it crashed while a tech was adding new worship songs. That crash actually corrupted the registration key. The machine is fully patched and it is running the latest drivers. To say we are disappointed is a gross understatement. We have well over 100 macros programmed to trigger lighting and sound cues. The only thing I've found that looks like it could compete with ProPresenter, given the automation we need, is Proclaim. I'm planning to start evaluating it in a week or so.
hmm, I've heard that Propresenter has issues with AMD hardware if you're using intel/nvidia hardware though or mac you prolly won't have any issue. We've even run propresenter on really low end hardware that didn't even meet the requirements and had no issue (I wouldn't try automating it through midi on hardware that low end though).
Correction on OpenLP not being able to display to various different displays. You can send the main display to as many screens as are connected to your computer/laptop. Just use the Windows built-in duplicate-screen feature. Also you can use the OpenLP Remote main/stage views to show different views of what is projected on the main screen. And the stage views are customizable using HTML. For example, we use custom stage views to insert subtitles into our streaming software while showing the lyrics with a nice background to the church members. It's not as intuitive and easy as some other applications have (like ProPresenter et al), but it's possible.
I have a rather tough question that maybe you can answer. Is there a software such as Pro Presenter, that can be programmed to loop a 2 to 3 minute presentation for 8 hours but midway through actually play a 30 second commercial and then continue the previous loop. Odd question I know. Any help?
Hey there! My church just got two monitors (just large TV’s) How can we easily show song lyrics, scriptures, etc. on BOTH screens simultaneously? What are the easiest options (nothing too fancy)
Our church does the same thing. We use a HDMI splitter (you could get this off of amazon for less than $20) and then just plug both tv's into the splitter. the other end would plug into your computer like a normal monitor would. This will duplicate the same display to both tv's at the same time. -David
@@MrsTip2u Cable managment is always a struggle unfortunately. Even some of the wireless options I've used resulted in poor quality so I always perfer to run cables no matter how much of a pain it ends up being. Look into SDI cables instead of HDMI if you can though. Those seem to be what most ppl suggest using over long stretches of cable runs.
yep! Propresenter can do that no problem. That's what my church currently does for our live stream/baptism services in person on the screens. Propresenter calls them "looks". -David
Im looking for a video player for PC that can play a playlist of MP4 files and has built in cross fade feature similar to Music Bee, which means it automatically cross fades by 0.5 seconds and means you dont have a gap or a blank screen as the next video loads (no live mixing). It needs to be seamless with no gaps in visual or audio. I also need it to be a playlist so I can change the order of the files if needed, but also leave it to run through the files automatically. If anyone could reccomend anything, it would be greatly appreciated.
That's a pretty specific need which pro presenter can do. For a free video player on PC though I recommend VLC media player. You can make playlists of mp4's to play in order. Not sure if you can crossfade transition seamlessly at 0.5 seconds but it's worth trying out since it's free and testing what you can. -David
Unfortunately, in our research there wasn't a direct and simple way to import a song database from EasyWorship to OpenLP. The workaround involves exporting your EasyWorship songs to text files or using a conversion tool. Here is the step-by-step guide: Export your EasyWorship songs to text files: Open EasyWorship. Go to the songs section and select a song. Export the song to a plain text file (usually via File > Export or by right-clicking the song). Repeat this process for all songs. This can be a bit time-consuming if you have many songs. Convert the exported files to OpenLP format (optional): If there is a conversion tool available (this would depend on the current date, but as of my last update in September 2021, there wasn't a specialized tool for this), you can use it to convert your EasyWorship files to OpenLP format. Import the song files into OpenLP: Open OpenLP. Go to the "Library" > "Song" > "Import". Follow the instructions to import your song files. Remember, before performing any data migration, always back up your data first to prevent any loss during the transition.
David here. What you could do is use OBS (open broadcaster software) This allows you to create "scenes" and each scene allows multiple sources. In your case, you would want to make a scene with multiple video sources. add as many as you need for cameras or if using a video switcher you can add that as it's own "video capture device". Then you cand add a "display capture" or "window capture" source and size it to fit however you'd like on the screen. This would be assigned to whatever presenter software you're using such as openLP which is free. We have a OBS tutorial on our page that should walk you through pretty thoroughly!
motion graphics for backgrounds in Openlp Isn't something I'm super familiar with. I did however find this video that you can follow th-cam.com/video/6Qc6-TaQBmw/w-d-xo.html. Good luck! -David

Between Video Psalm and Open LP, the choice comes down to existing processes/workflow and culture dynamics!

I'm suprised you didn't talk about Proclaim which is probably ProPresenter's closest rival.
We have heard that. We will probablly do an update and include it in the next round.
We use proclaim, have used it for 3 years now and love it. Couple dislikes but overall very well designed software
no mention of Media Shout? What are your thoughts on it?
We like it. Working on an update coming soon.
We use MediaShout, and most days I really like it. But it's the only church presentation software I've used.
ProPresenter pricing is way out of date, now $29/mo per seat with campus price available.
