I have so many old band t-shirts from the concerts Ive been to that are just sat in a wardrobe doing nothing.......well Im going to get a couple of them and Im going to do something with them....make a tote bag !!!! I'll be the talk of the town with my Smiths, New Order, Depeche Mode and Sisters of Mercy bags :-) Thanks for another great video Sophie, greatly appreciated.
@@cheesekimbap2996 Really? I mean, I guess a few of these shirts can be worth some money, if they are in good condition, but people pay hundreds of dollars for the shabby ones, too?!
😂right! It's so annoying trying to watch a vid...or tutorial and the loudest most annoying music distorting or bothering the ears..... Not the best way to learn from, or teach a tutorial😑😵💫.
this was awesome. i used this video for my first ever sewing project. i just bought a machine like three days ago. lol it’s taking me a long time but i’m almost done, i will be finishing just the straps tomorrow. it’s rough but it’s definitely getting my feet wet. 😊
That is an excellent tutorial. I can see where I could have gone wrong and made a tote that wouldn't have had your finished look. Thanks so much, I look forward to giving it a try.
Very clear and simple instructions. Thank you. I will be using the t-shirt gift I was just given that has a lovely print but horrible cut for wear. This will be a perfect repurpose project.
Have you done your project yet? I'm not a pro...but I have done some sewing... I myself would do straight stich ...or even perhaps a zig zag...or both for extra seal of the hems.... Again, I'm not an expert, but it's how I would do it as a beginner 😊👍
Thank you so much! I have a couple of old Kung Fu shirts that Don't fit me anymore, but that I don't want to give away because of the emotional connection and because they're kinda ruined, but they will work perfectly as a bag, definitely will try!!
Really nice work, now I'm thinking on making one for my next mom's birthday or maybe my grandma's one since my mom's birthday was just some weeks ago 😁 Anyway thanks for sharing the content!
Thanks for the tutorial, I will make this bag. What is the width of the stitch for the bag and then what is the width of the stitch for the handles please?
@@SewnBySophie hey!! im using your video for a project im gonna be doing and im new to sewing, i just wanna ask is there a type of hand sewing technique i should use for this craft? 😅 i hope that made sense;;
Hola! just started watching your vids. For beginners, do you recommend those mechanical hand held sewing kits off eBay? as I dont obtain an actual sewing machine yet. Gracias!
Hi 😊. I have never used one myself, but I haven’t heard many good things about them. I would personally avoid buying one of those and go for a beginner friendly sewing machine 😊. Thanks for watching!
I would recommend the sewing machine I use. It’s a Brother LS14. I’ve used it since I started sewing and it has all the basic functions on it. I can always do a video on it, if it’s something people will be interested in? 😊
Hi Sophie ! I am going to buy a new tee shirt and I will make a tote bag. Thank you for your suggestion. My name is Helen. I do want to su scribe to more of your ideas.
I love this idea! The bag will be machine washable too, which is great for shopping totes.

I never thought of that, that’s such a good idea! I’d love to see how they turn out! 😊
Bob those shirts are worth hundreds maybe thousands of dollars each, it would be a huge mistake to do that lol
@@cheesekimbap2996 lol what? Nobodie is paying hundreds of dollars for some worn out old bandshirts...
@@Izzy-fr1zu sure nobody is you're right. Keep being uninformed so me and everyone else keep scooping them up and make all the profits 😁

If a kids shirt is used, it could be used as a book holder.

Great video! Thanks 👍 👍 👍 👍
Your brother can use it to carry his teammates in CS GO
lol
If I used a jersey, should I use an interfacing as a stabilizer? Not sure what's best for that? I'd rather just do what you did.
I'm thinking about trying this with a old sweater
Very nice thanks for the idea and for teaching the simple bag.👍👍❤️🥰😍
To make the box corner wider is it ok to measure 2inches ?
I want it wider to make the bag contain more space in its base inside. Can i do that?
Love this! Made one from an in n out shirt :F
Great job!!
Thanks for the tutorial, I will make this bag. What is the width of the stitch for the bag and then what is the width of the stitch for the handles please?
remember our school making this and put it to the online class and she said it’s a surprise yes was fun

Do you think it would be OK to hand sew this instead of use sewingmachine?
Definitely 😊

do you have tips on what you can use to make a laptop sleeve?
Thank you! Any cotton fabric would be fine to make a laptop sleeve, but I’d recommend using some quilting or something similar for padding 😊
