I do have another question, not sure if you can help or not. So the server is up and running and I’ve made some changes to the game.ini and the gameusersettinings.ini files for some rates and stuff. However when I admin spawn a Dino in at level 150, it comes in tamed at 225. But it is only letting me level it up 10 levels to 235 and stopping there. Do you know of a setting I can change to fix that?
This didn't work for me using the SteamCMD server. Server is up and running great but when I did what was explained in the video the mods would not download. Thanks for the video anyways.
I cannot open or runn the bat file it says the versiok is incompatible with my pc i have a windows11 pro with 64pit idk why it isnt working i have tries some tutorials but none of them worked
me and my friend trying to join unofficial servers but every time we try download the mods its stuck after half way or near the end and we spend 3 hours just trying every server but nothing worked
any idea on how to get a Scorched Earth server running with mods? I have tried two different server managers but neither will connect to Cursed Forge. Any help would be fantastic!
I just released a video on how to create a cluster server with the island and scorched earth. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t already. As for cursedforge I haven’t done much with it yet but I might look into it.
Perhaps you could also make a tutorial on your channel with this question 1. How do set modded creatures to only spawn on one map but still allow them to be transfered on other maps, Example i have s-dino variants for svartalfheim, i added the mod to all maps but i dont want them spawning on all maps except the ones that dont spawn on svartalfheim, ie s-wyerns
how do I get my mods to update on steam? There is no options or anything to do it. So Im stuck with out of date mods that install over and over when I join... I tried the server update thing in my steam folder and nothing...
Mods are usually run through steam workshop. When you join the server it should automatically update the mod if steam hasn't already done so. The PC connecting to the server should automatically update. The Update Server.bat only updates the server client version. Double check if the mod id has changed maybe.
@@schylercarmine4010 you can add to your server start batch file with the mod Id for example -mods=999999,888888 or you can add to your gameusersettings.ini under ServerSettings with for example activemods=999999,888888 . If you are unsure how to do this be sure to check out my cluster server tutorial or my steamcmd tutorial.
Be sure to check out the newer videos but this should work if you downloaded the server from steam directly. Might need to modify the paths start C:\SteamCMD\steamcmd.exe +force_install_dir C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended Dedicated Server\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64 +login anonymous +app_update 2430930 validate +quit
I got the mods to show up when i go to join and they download and everything, but when i load in there are no mods? Did i do something wrong or something?
They should be working but I can’t speak for all mods some require a bit more tweaking in the user settings and is a bit more in depth. You may need to check with the mod description make sure all steps were followed. Most are simple and require a mod id but some may need some other prerequisites. I would recommend checking if there’s a discord and ask questions there or try another mod. Some just aren’t as good or not updated. Happy surviving. You can also try adding the argument -noBattlEye to the .bat file. This may give you the wanted results.
Hi, I set my server up completely fine, it runs, friends can join, and my PC can run the game and the server at the same time, but for some reason I just cannot get mods to work on the server. Every time I add -mods= to the command line in the start up bat file the server crashes. I checked the crash log and it says "Requested mods failed to load on server". Tried with multiple different single mods but always crashes the server before they load, any help would be very much appreciated!
Make sure your gameusersettings.ini has the mod ids there as well. Another thing you could try is back up your saved folder and try it again see if it works on a fresh save it might just not be cooperating with your current save file.
@@ghosttechtips6944 thanks for your reply, I have tried adding ActiveMods=(ModID) to the gameusersettings.ini but it still crashes, could it be that I’m running out of memory? Hope you see my comments. So im generating a server on ARK dedicated server which is without steam CMD. I am still wondering that how i can install mod into server, do i need to download any files and put them into some path manually or just install it from the game? Secondly, can you explain the meaning of " right click to the server and hit update"? dont understand this part, where can i do the right click? Please help me really appreciated.
If you downloaded the server from steam, I show this in my other video easy version. You can right click from steam ark survival ascended server and if there is an update when you right click it will give you option to update or it will update automatically when you run it just ensure you have steam in online mode if you want to update. Once the server is up to date close it and then run steam in offline mode. In this video I show 2 methods depending on which tutorial you followed my original steamcmd method or if you downloaded directly from steam (easy method). Take note of the paths I display on the screen to know where to place the mod ids when adding mods. Your path may be different if you did this on your own. Thanks for watching :)
Also if you downloaded from steam client you need to create 2 .bat files one for update server and one for start server. You don’t need to right click from steam if you have the batch file made allow the batch to do that for you.
Fantastic Video btw, I watched all of them with the Server Setup. I am having an issue with my server crashing upon Startup with a "Ticking Loop." It doesn't crash without mods, but the second I add the mod IDs in the bat file, it crashes. It also pops up immediately when I start it and says 0.00 startup time when normally it says something like 2.7 seconds or so. Any idea? I went over every setting and made sure its exactly like yours except my name changes and such
I would say ensure your server is up to date by running Server Update.bat. Also add ActiveMods=modid to the GameUserSettings.ini file under Server Settings area. Should be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended Dedicated Server\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\GameUserSettings.ini if installed through Steam Client. Thanks for the feedback :)
I’m not sure I understand your question? When you add the command to the .bat file it will automatically update the mods when you join the server. You just add more mod ids to the .bat file if you want more mods added.
Hi Ghosttechtips thanks for the videos. I want to ask is there a way to tell the server to do a save and restart at a picked time of day? I'm running a steam client server.
When you close the server it will save but if you want to save manually you can type in admincheat saveworld in the in game console. As for setting a specific time I’m sure you could do a script to do that but I am unsure exactly how to do that.
Generally you just need to find the save location for the single player game and copy that saved folder over to the dedicated server location. I’ll see what I can do. Have been busy with work but will be making more videos shortly. Thanks for watching :)
I have successfully backed up using the entire /Saved folder backup method. However you do lose some like settings and stuff. Like keybindings or something.
This is super confusing if you did this using the steam dedicated server. I'm a little lost. So I need to create this .bat file for the steam dedicated server, but it'll update on its own? The quick writing and lack of visuals made this confusing. Edit: Yeah I don't understand, there is no update with the right click. Your previous video for the steam dedicated server guide was amazing! This video feels like you tried to add every way of doing this too quickly without visually showing every way.
If you have the server installed through steam you don’t need to create an Update Server.bat. You can update the server by making sure stream is in online mode and when you right click on the server in steam if there is an update available it will update. Then you can run the Start Server.bat. I’ll make a short explaining in more detail. Thank you for your feedback
@@ghosttechtips6944 Thanks mate! This series has helped get my server up and running using the steam dedicated video and look forward to getting the mods going.
