Absolutly, the set up for a heroic redemption was absolutly there after the 6th book, even more so than for Snape. The deleted wand throw from the movie would have been just that final redemptive act.
I genuinally think Rowling cut his redemption short due to him being based on bullies from her childhood. Like she couldn't bring herself to make him a hero and just settled with him accepting that his old beliefs were wrong.
And the cursed child has him activly raising his own son to _not_ hold pureblood supremacist beliefs and Scorpius ends up being a much much better person when he goes of to Hogwarts.

I suspect that pre Hogwarts Draco may well have idolized Harry Potter. The wizarding world was likely full of stories about Harry Potter and how great he was. Draco may have fantasized about how he'd meet Harry Potter and the two would become friends and later on they'd both become famous. In short Draco was a fan boy and when he was rejected by Harry he would have harboured a lot of resentment.

14:41 Attractiveness? Pansy Parkinson is the only girl at school who fawns over Draco, and I am convinced she’s more attracted to his wealth and status than any supposed “charm” on his part.

Draco is a morally complex character. He's presented as a stereotypical school bully but you learn that his attitude comes from a place of deep insecurity and he falls back on his family's status as a defense mechanism. When he's asked to do actual evil he can't bring himself to do it. By the end of the story he is not 100% redeemed but he has definitely turned from the dark forces. I like to think he and Harry have gained a kind of respect for one another by the end of the series, which you see by the curt but respectful nod of acknowledgement they give to each other in the epilogue, though they never become friends. Also, even though I like to pretend the Cursed Child doesn't exist, I still like the idea that Harry's son is sorted into Slytherin and becomes best friends with Draco's son.
