I've a head canon that Salazar Slytherin wasn't against muggle born at Hogwarts, not at first. I imagine something happened, Salazar began pushing the other founders not to accept all comers and screen all applicants. I believe that he turned only after something truly horrific happened. Something that had to be hushed up it was so bad. Salazar Slytherin was pushed over the edge and swore death to all muggle born.

In Jim Dale's reading of the Harry Potter series he didn't pronounce the T in Voldemort until later in the series. I can say for sure that he didn't pronounce the T in the first book.

I could only read book 7 twice; the deaths and destruction is far worse and more felt in the books than what the movies tried, but couldn’t truly portray. The movies just showed some of the dead bodies, but not how some of them like Fred died.

I completely agree i wish slytherin had a more nuanced portrayal and this is coming from a gryffindor. I think it would have been more interesting and that's why I hope we get a prequel series some day!

One thing I never noticed which stood out to me upon hearing you mention it, was that it seemed to me the "gifts" Harry was sent for holidays, were themed around the food, hospitality, & basic courtesies he was denied while under the Dursley's roof, let alone love.

Dudley having a wizard or witch as a child would have been very interesting. Not only would it have given Dudley further chances for reconciliation with Harry and really stuck it to Vernon and Petunia, but it also would have allowed for a more complex view of magic as seen from a muggle's perspective. Dudley never had any positive experiences with magic, partly because his parents were as anti as they could be about it, but also because he was a bullying git for a good chunk of his early life. Now, having to accept the wizarding world in his life for the sake of his child, he would have to familiarize himself with it to a point. Perhaps there would have been things about it that he would have liked? If he till liked sweets in his adulthood, then Honeydukes certainly would've drawn his eyes. Also, he or his kid could have acted as a bit of a stand in for an objective view of magic. While the wizarding world is full of wonder, it doesn't always make much sense. It isn't constantly developing like the muggle world, but remains rather stagnated, to the point that Hogwarts is using textbooks that hasn't been updated for at least 50 years.

My personal fan fiction is something simple, but powerful. I wanted to see Dudley on Platform 9 3/4, seeing his 11yo son or daughter off to his/her 1st year at Hogwarts. This would prove that he survived, and accepted his magical son/daughter. It would even open a door for maybe Harry building a relationship with the one person left from his mother's family. I understand why Harry ended up with Ginny. It was the only way that Harry could officially become a member of the Weasley family, as he had been in spirit since the very beginning. Hermione in turn became family as well by marrying Ron. She and Ginny were as close as sisters for most of the books. The Weazleys became the the mutual connection that created the complete family Harry never got to have. Regarding the English Bulldogs, it's more about the owner. When the owner is mean and horrible, the dogs will tend to be too. When the owner is kind and honorable, the dogs will tend to be as well. It surprises me, and saddens me that so many people don't naturally recognize such things. Obviously, Rowling had to choose some of the biggest characters to fall victim in the war. From everything I've read and heard, it was between Fred and Arthur. Arthur was the closest Harry had to a father. Harry deserved to keep that relationship. IMHO

The Auther of any story is no longer the free thinking creator, once the fans get too involved. This occurrence in itself is stupid. Get a life! Really. Bellatrix was jealous of the faith and trust Voldemort put in Snape and she didn't trust him. She was hoping to expose him as a traitor and loyal to Dumbledore. She expected he'd refuse the vow exposing himself. If he accepted either he'd carry it out and protect her nephew ridding her master of his greatest foe, or he'd die and she'd have no competition for her master's favorite. There were no downsides for her. What she didn't know was Dumbledore was already dying and had made Snape promise to kill him to spare Draco from irrevocably turning down a dark path.

Voldy vs Grindewald is always a bit weird comparisong. Comparing their power as a leader/political view or magical abilitys to duel ans use other charms? Grindewald achieved much more on a political level and had ideology behind hes actions. Voldemort just wanted to be immortal and rule everyone. Hes ideology was that ”I am the god”. I believe that Grindewald could have gain the leadership over wizards, if the one and only Albus Dumbledore didnt step in. If Voldemort would have gained the leadership over wizarding world, there would be alot more resistance from other wizards, because its just a ”obey or die”, no political partys, debates or so. But if we put Voldemort and Grindewald 1v1 against each other (both have original wands, no supporters, ”equal situation”) I believe that Tom would beat Gellert. Grindewald was a strong wizard, no doubt in that, but not on the same level as Voldy. Voldemort got betrayed by wand issues, plot armor, etc, but prime voldemort was basicly unstoppable even without elder wand. Only Dumbledor could beat him. Numerous aurors couldnt do a thing, even if they went 1v3 or even more. After he got destroyed the first time, I believe that he didnt come back with full power. +in goblet of fire the destruction of horxruxes had begun.

So, I’m not judging the poster of this channel, this is actually a really interesting video and I am subscribing, but some of these theories are just outright idiotic, and like the base root of that word, I’m sorry, but you’re idiots! Theory 1: I could go on a looooong rant about this, but all I have to say is, Hello, what about their vastly different families? One person can’t be born to two different families through a time turner, or at all! Theory 2: Boys get over girls, by becoming interested in Other girls; this is a fact, why are we trying to make something more out of it? Also, why are we trying to make Ginny a villain. She’s described as a beautiful young woman and she’s quite smart! Why is it so hard to believe that Harry would fall for her? Theory 3: Yes, they have a brother-sister bond, as do many male-female friends. Must I again point out their Families?! You’re all dumb if you believe this… Theory 4: I actually like this theory and would like to believe it! Obviously, J.K. didn’t create Mary Poppins, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t fit into the world and hurt the story. Fun and workable head-cannon! Theory 5: I don’t think Dumbledore wanted to live forever; he had access to the Philosopher’s Stone; so why? The Arianna thing isn’t impossible, I guess, but it’s a big stretch that he’d Accidentally create a horcrux… Theory 6: I am a big fan of Draco being a “tragically misunderstood character”. I always read him as a child who was seeking the approval of his parents, so instead of forming his own opinions, he just word vomits things he’s heard them say, and that he’s not Actually a bad person. Now we Know that J.K only changed Draco’s character because of Tom Felton’s likable portrayal of him, so this theory holds no ground in reality. However, since I always read Draco the way Tom portrayed him, I really like the idea that he was helping the trio from book 2 on, and I don’t think it throws off the course of events in the story, or changes anything, so pretty well thought out. The only Slight issue I have with this theory is, that it makes it seem like Lucius and Draco both know exactly what and how is going to come of that diary. It’s not Unbelievable that Lucius has had conversations and that Tom Riddle told him what would happen and what he should do, but I do struggle to believe that Tom would have seen Value enough in Lucius to tell him more than, “do this because I ask it of you”… Still, I give props to this theory! Theory 7: This is an interesting theory, and does make a lot of sense. I don’t believe it is the Soul reason the Dursley’s were so nasty; they are a very interesting study in the psychological effects of one’s childhood (traumas) and how far we’ll go to protect/uplift the one’s we love; however, it could have made them Worse. But then why does Dudley show growth and remorse? Because he’s a kid? With the complexity of J.K. Rowling’s writing, do we really believe “he’s a child so he was protected”? Ginny wasn’t protected from that Diary and she was also a child. I like this theory in that it Intensified their poor treatment of him, but I don’t believe it warped them into bad people and that if Harry weren’t a horcrux, they would have treated him well. Hell, McGonagall told Dumbledore from the beginning that she’d been watching them all day and they were horrible people! (P.S. I wrote this before I heard the commentary mention the same thing…) Theory 8: This isn’t even worth my time commenting on! Again, you all are just Stupid and all I have to say on the matter is, “just…NO!”

It's funny if you think about it. James was a pure-blood wizard Lily was a muggle-born witch, they got married. Ron is a pureblood wizard Hermione is a muggle-born witch they got married. Like Teddy and Harry are orphans. The circle continues.

It is unlikely she had the whole series well planed, as I've seem claimed, though I'm not sure if by her. Sure, she may have planed some characters, at least the broad strokes to have an idea where to lead them, but the series, pretty much much a pantser.
