@richardoconnor2560 Indeed! You know, I'm from NY where we have our own accent... We've always had this rivalry with every place up north. From Boston to New Hampshire. But, I gotta say, I love the accent, and I definitely love the people!
@Bob well, it seems a lot of people actually believe it's a fake accent including those who live in Massachusetts. Guess I've been living a lie I never knew about.
@Bob most people I come across mistake if for NY or NJ. I didn't think I had an accent either until I moved away from the Boston area, 20 minutes further North. I even got more of a rude awakening to how bad my accent was when I joined the Military. Can't go outside without people asking me where the accent is from now that I live in VA. It's a noticeable accent but the amount of people online that believe it's fake is crazy. I have to conceal my accent a lot of times just so people are better able to understand me. Overall gotten more people who I believe love the accent than those that hate it however online data says otherwise. I don't have these people talking to me this way in person so I don't know. Anyways, I live my accent and where I'm from.
@@Bob-zl4cb Haha, ya. I still use bub-ah-lah, pay-phah, c-ha, so on and so forth. I get asked what I'm talking about a lot and I have yo correct myself.
I grew up in Virginia with a boston accent. Although I wouldn’t exactly say I was bullied for it- it was pointed out literally every second of the day in elementary and middle school especially. I actually didn’t know I had an accent at all and told everyone I was british in elementary school. I beat myself up over my accent all the time and desperately begged my parents for a speech therapist to “get rid” of my accent
I was also raised in Virginia and remember a girl in high school who was originally from rural New England and had that kind of accent. But instead of other kids giving her a hard time she seemed to be admired a lot just because people thought she was English:)
I moved to SW Virginia 10 years ago from Boston and I hear about my accent and my attitude every day, apparently you can't tell people how you really feel about them or pretty much telling them to GF themselves without looking for a safe space after. I try to tell them it's not personal that's just how we talk.
My whole family is from Mass and I was born in Florida. I sound like them. My sisters were born in Mass but have a Floridian accent. I stayed home and hung out with all my family and cousins. My sisters were out with their friends so they lost the accent they had when they were little. My accent is kinda both. When I’m talking slow I sound Floridian. But give be a beer with my cousins and all you hear is “Faaaaack Yew!”
Ive lived in the boston area my whole life and i dont really know how to do the accent that well other than dropping the r sound but i naturally speak with just normal American accent

boston accent jokes are fucking amazing for some reason
Love this clip so much
She forces that first R soooooo hard 😂
Can you imagine the boston accent showing itself during other.....events. lol.
She shouldn’t be embarrassed just roll with it.
That's gold.❤
Trying to sound normal for the rest of the nation, are we? Hey Boston…just let it go. You’re not fooling anybody. Especially after a shot of Jameson.

that is what we say back here in the uk. the really strange to hear the new england dialect which has a lot of english and irish.
This makes me smile so much! New Hampsha makes more sense than new new Hampshire 🤷♂️
They should not make news reporters conceal their accents, so long as the accent is understandable.
Tricia Takanawa vibes!
