I just replaced my belts yesterday on my TC-WE475, neither player would play, but for a couple of seconds, then began to "eat the tapes". The smaller belts (both) were melted to the spools, I found. I kept looking for the belts in the electronics, but they were nowhere to be found. So, while installing the new belts pieces of the old belts stuck to the new belts as they turned. I had to clean the melted belts off the newer belts, after I installed the replacement belts. It seems the old belts broke and were stuck under the large pully, as I tried to get it to work, the old belts got hot from the friction which melted the old belt to the pully. In the end, it turned out that replacing the belts resolved the problem.

Really enjoyed the video but the 13 minutes of black screen at the end just didn't cut the mustard 😔😔
