Cub, you should create a badge for each checkpoint and allow Hermits to exit and come back later. I think that will help with managing content and frustration as well (kinda like save points in many games). This will also encourage everyone to play if you make the badges wearable. That way people can brag and compare levels. It'll be like a class system where only the best of the best hermits will have access to the later part of the maze. Kinda like how in the movie maze runner, they try to map out the mazes.
keep in mind that in addition to not having respiration, people wont have depth strider, so make sure to test that, because it might actually be impossible
We totally know Cub’s the ore snatcher, the methodical approach to removing it, and leaving a goat head behind when you have the only goat farm on the server; the skill involved plus ‘the glitched’ we all know it’s you!
Good thing no one is evil enough to build a maze under the quiz section, so that the hermits who answer wrong would drop in a random spot in the underground maze. Good thing Cub is a good guy ! It would be realy evil... and how many times would the hermits need to find the way back to the ladder to get to the beginning of the quiz 3:D
11:18 at the checkpoint sections you should add a panic button that will activate an enderpearl stasis chamber to let the hermits out if they continue to die repeatedly...don't want them to be SCARred too much :D
Oh that swimming section of death will be a major run killer- maybe give them the option of a waterbreathing helmet vs a clue about the section after? More options are always fun. I LOVE the lava candle parkour section, and how the ice parkour is technically difficult but mentally fine, and the candles are technically easy(ish) and mentally nerve wracking. Cant wait to see the trivia questions and play along in someones video. Very cool project!!
I'd love an extra hard maze with multiple floors and stairs going up and down. The candle path is really cool, although I think if you arrange the colour so it's a gradient it could give a rainbow road kind of feel which might be neat?
I mean don't leave diamond ore blocks un attended in the public shopping areas. If you found a quarter on the floor of a mall you would pick up the quarter. The Find a penny pick it up rule.
This maze is so sick!! it would be cools to have some watch towers dotted around to spectate your buddies going through the maze! Maybe you could put them on top of points that are roofed off? I can’t wait to see the Hermits try this out
I feel like the way people play jumping puzzle in Minecraft is a lot about pattern recognition, so on the snow area making jumps with unusual heights with the use of snow layers coudl be interesting.
I was convinced there was an ice cream truck playing its tune nearby, or an alarm going off in my house. Thought I was going insane because I’d pause the video and not hear anything. I’d start the video back up and hear it again a few moments later. Figured it out after a few cycles of this. It was the amethyst chiming. I was being trolled by the amethyst in the video. ‘Twas amusing, thought I’d share 😆
If I had a nickel for every time I saw a blacked out underwater maze designed to be run naked without gear and drown the participants in Season 10, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
I know it would be a lot of effort to build, but a 3d labyrinth section (where you can also move vertically instead of just horizontally) would be awesome.
If the maze is too long for some, you could make a checkpoint system by transporting a thrown ender pearl. Like a refined version of what B-dubs did in the mycelium war. Unlike the bed respawn system, you could just leave whenever and resume a few days later by throwing a pearl into labeled checkpoint stasis chambers.
It would be cool if the "trial by ice" was actually a very skinny ice boat course that's easy to fall off if you make a wrong turn or don't take it slow.
glass cealing at build hight prevents snow and rain. and prevents water from turning to ice. AND still lets light through. i make the glass cealing at build hight to keep it from interfearing with my build. and i dont know if snow collects on it if it were any lower.
Multiple key cards in the second section of the maze gives me old-school Doom/Wolfenstein vibes. Gotta get the green key card to get to the section with the blue key card, which gets to the section with the red key card, which gets you out.
I have an idea for the next section of your maze! You could make a room full of blocks whose 3D orientation is determined by a random "noise" pattern. It's a Random Voxel Noise Room that hermits would have to navigate, instead of a linear maze. You could even choose to fill it with conduit powered water so they can fully navigate in three dimensions. Perhaps a 'trial by water'? Another idea: Snow parkour... but some of the blocks are powdered!
I love mazes & labyrinths, so I am especially enjoying these episodes. Suggestion: decorate each checkpoint room in the water maze differently to distinguish them from each other.
It looks amazing! And I was worried about the snow already, but I think your solluctions for it will work great! A couple of ideas. How about an entrance and exit in the pause rooms between sections, so that a hermit can save progress and continue another day. Some people might struggle with one section and need to log off, but want to continue from that section later. Since they set their spawns in your maze at various safe points, they can't get home in any meaningful way otherwise. Honor system and all being in place, I think that could work, and spread out each hermit recording their experience over various episodes. Another idea is between section 3 and 4 to hang up a couple of signs saying "I bet you're rather done with mazes and parkour now. Well, talk about luck! Enjoy the next section I prepared!" Which of course will be more parkour and mazes." A bit of a tease. Good luck completing the project!
For any hermit keeping track of the progress of labyrinth paths, it will be somewhat easy for them to figure it out. You got to take them on a ride underground first and then start in from a room that is disconnected from outside. Cub you must make sure of it.
That maze is insane! Are you crazy? I did think a way to make the water maze easier might be a way to get a glimpse of the route from above. I think it wouldn't help much but it might be a little help. Also, I really like jumping mazes in minecraft, you know where you are looking to find which jumps are possible like when you climb up a mountain without breaking or placing blocks jumping back and forth to gain a little bit of height each time, sometimes dropping down so you can take a different route. Maybe you could add something like that?
You really should create some 3d aspects to your maze. With a second and maybe third floor. That way it can wind back in on itself and make more difficult to make a mental map of maze.
A colossal build like this ends up looking real good even with a simple pattern, when it's fully complete it'll look even better. This thing is a great "mini"game and has some serious replay value too, would be pretty hard to memorize most of the route taken. For the snow layers either string it, light it up or glass the whole thing at build height I guess. Also add a select few deepslate diamond ore in the walls spread far apart.
Loving this whole concept. Very impressive! One way you could communicate with your fellow hermits could be that you have a *star* score for difficulty levels (eg. 1 * is easy, 5* is hardest) something like that. 😊 Also, a HHH stream is in order to clear that snow and make you a glass ceiling to block it happening again
11:20 If people keep getting stuck in those little save rooms they're going to end up so extremely frustrated feeling they're stuck until they realize they can just destroy the bed, place it back, and then just not sleep in it to escape. So who is the first to get "stuck"?
You could make a laberynth pattern on top of the Questions Area with maybe carpets or maybe different types of slabs so that it doesn't look so dull from the top.
maybe a way of making the multiple choice questions a bit more challenging would be putting full blacked out maps in itemframes on the bottom of the powdered snow so they dont know the correct answer by falling down once!
I don’t know if you’re still taking advice for new horns, but I just watched False’s Episode 15 and at 18:19 she yells at stress “Get Off My Lawn” and it would make a perfect horn!
you should add rings of fire to that easy fun part of the slime block jumps, also water columns for the large jumps so hermits don't have to climb a slow ladder if they fail. Little quality of life things.
In the first part of the labyrinth, I think that you should have made the parkour pretty straight forward, but with branch paths that would lead you to the switches that make the parkour easier. That gives the runner the opportunity to choose how difficult/complicated he wants the first section to be.
I've got an idea for the Labyrinth's name: Call it "The Lab-yrinth" and get it sponsored by the two other experimenters on the server: Skizz and Zedaph.
The trivia stuff should open doors 1-4 based on the answer they give, only on of those doors has a path behind it to the next bit, the other all have long dead ends off of them. Only 1 door can be opened at a time using redstone. If they get the answer wrong they have to find there way back to the question and try a different door/answer At this point, just add a maze underneath for the wrong answers to get back to the question. And the only ladder back up should be back at the first question. A bit of knowledge, a bit of memory.
You should probably add a sign at the beginning of the quiz section that says to make sure to track your score so they dont waste a bunch of time at the end thinking of which ones they got right
I’m so excited for this build thanks Cub! Could introduce hostile mobs as a hard mode lol With name tags from past season like captain Etho or tango’s cough
to combat the snow, have you considered a glass platform , like, 50 blocks above to keep the snow off but preserve your high walls open to the elements aesthetic?
For variety, maybe some of the ceiling could be glassed in to prevent snow, while others allow natural snow buildup. The snow kinda makes it feel more like it's really in the world so I feel like it works. Also, is there a plan to utilize the surface section of the underwater maze? It's cool that you can see the passageways from above, you could build it up like it's part of the regular maze, and from above first time players wouldn't know it's inaccessible it just adds to the overall impressiveness of the scale of the labyrinth!
You could just cover the honeycomb in the maze with glow lichen, it would prevent snow and give the maze a really unique color to it, Personally i would prefer lichen to using a roof, as it will allow hermits to jump in or out of the maze when they want too, or perhaps watch someone else from atop walls. (Or fall off the walls which giving the maze runner Bad advice) which creates and interesting dynamic in my opinion when compaired to a glass or deep slate roof
I don't know if you plan to put a roof over the whole maze, but if not I have a suggestion to prevent people from flying over and taking cheaty snapshots from above. Put some random blocks up at roof height throughout the maze that make it look like dead-ends from above, but actually allow travel underneath.
*Cub:* I think at this point, people will be tired of mazes.

This idea is fantastic, they could also act like a key to open the door back to the checkpoint.
++
This will take hours to complete, and needs to not have to be done in a single run.
one of the trivia questions should be "how many trapdoors were in the parkour room?"
This is a great idea
"How many diamond blocks did I steal from Doc's redstone?"
😂😂 @@victzegopterix2
@@victzegopterix2 0 diamond blocks..... multiple diamond ore blocks
This maze is going to drive hermits insane.
And Cub drives Doc specifically insane as a side project
But like how deeplate walls are planned on the floor; seems to be a reliable way to build a maze
keep in mind that in addition to not having respiration, people wont have depth strider, so make sure to test that, because it might actually be impossible

We totally know Cub’s the ore snatcher, the methodical approach to removing it, and leaving a goat head behind when you have the only goat farm on the server; the skill involved plus ‘the glitched’ we all know it’s you!
If David Bowie had employed Cub to work on his labyrinth I don’t think Sarah would ever have got her brother back! Xx
Hahaha I love that reference!

Cub. You are a monster. A maze of this magnitude. Men have doomed their souls with less 😂
At least you can choose to take breaks in between sections,
but yeah this labyrinth is MASSIVE.
it's like watching Skizz's pyramid, but scaled up massively O_o
Oh that swimming section of death will be a major run killer- maybe give them the option of a waterbreathing helmet vs a clue about the section after? More options are always fun. A turtle helmet would be a good compromise. Gives you just that little bit extra time underwater without feeling overpowered. Plus they look cool. 😏
The water section reminds me of Skizz’s pyramid
I'd love an extra hard maze with multiple floors and stairs going up and down.
The candle path is really cool, although I think if you arrange the colour so it's a gradient it could give a rainbow road kind of feel which might be neat?
Cub, we know it was you

Undoubtedly

Indubitably

It'll be funny if mumbo is framed imagine him in bdubs court just humble mumbo
Having just watched the courthouse shenanigans I'm just gonna say "Bdubs' spankin rockets" need to be officially added to the fireworks shop
I like the snow! It's free ambience!
Hey cub, You can make a big glass bowl on top of the labyrinth if you don't like the snow.
That way the maze halls aren't cramped together.
A labyrinth fit for a pyramid!
This maze is so sick!! it would be cools to have some watch towers dotted around to spectate your buddies going through the maze! Maybe you could put them on top of points that are roofed off? I can’t wait to see the Hermits try this out
I had been wondering when we’d get another cubby episode. Now I see what he’s been up to! A whole lot of hermit suffering 😂

Everyone thinking it's Cub when it's actually Tango
That episode is absolutely aMazing😂.
Pun Aside.
That was such an amazing episode. I'm excited to see the hermits get lost and killed in the maze
Cub, if you either add lightsources all along the labyrinth or put a roof/carpet of string over the top/floor, that should block the snow.
Hyped for when Hermits get to try the Labyrinth for the first time

Instead of tripwire hooks for keys in the labyrinth, when HC updates to 1.21 you could use the trial keys because they’re, ya know… actual keys

Great work Cub! Love the labyrinth, particularly the variety that you were able to implement into the mazes!

Yeah, no way Cub is the ore snatcher. Cub would never.
Right?
A colossal build like this ends up looking real good even with a simple pattern, when it's fully complete it'll look even better. This thing is a great "mini"game and has some serious replay value too, would be pretty hard to memorize most of the route taken.

Edit: Love the fire and ice choices. It's like a Robert Frost poem.

A door maze would be interesting to see
If the player can’t open them, then yes. Otherwise, too cheesable
this maze is going to be a lot of fun... looking forward to seeing the hermits run it.

For the maze, could you use dispenser for arrows of water breathing? The 22sec option will give them a boost but better than a full potion effect :)
I don't care how easy it is, the candle parkour over lava is mentally stressful😂
when you said water maze i thought it will have verticality in it but still humongous progress
The trivia stuff should open doors 1-4 based on the answer they give, only on of those doors has a path behind it to the next bit, the other all have long dead ends off of them. You should build a Skyblock base located somewhat near where Doc is at. Bonus points if you make it out of diamond ore.
I feel I shall enjoy this version of TaCubie's Castle. 😁
This is looking awesome Cub!
Varying the height of the labyrinth to imitate terrain could be fun - making similar sections similar heights might also disorient players :-)
I’m so excited for this build thanks Cub! Could introduce hostile mobs as a hard mode lol With name tags from past season like captain Etho or tango’s cough
Thanks for the episode. You did get a lot done.
Cub, i LOVED this project!
to combat the snow, have you considered a glass platform , like, 50 blocks above to keep the snow off but preserve your high walls open to the elements aesthetic?
For the trials maybe setup a door system that only resets when the player completes that section so that players can't switch after choosing.
For the snowing issue, just string at the ceiling level?
Cub building this diabolical maze is more evidence that he is stealing diamonds.
I think you should poke some holes in some walls as if it’s damaged and it teases the player thinking they can get through. But they cant.
Wow your mazes look really hard but absolutely fantastic!
Horn audio: Mumbo Hermitcraft 10: Episode 21 15:23

Hermits think??
Well, aside from DocM77, Xisuma, ImpulseSV, Peardle, and you CubFan135 the OG Mad Scientist on the server.
You work hard and i verry much appreciate all your hard work.
Thanks man .
I think you should have a prize at the end of the maze. Something like some deep slate diamond ore perhaps? 😂
One of the trivia questions should be "Who is/are the Glitcher$"... who is it, Cub? Hmm? ;D
