    You have just told me just what I already knew, I am 73, In 2004 I had Endocarditis, as a result I have two mechanical heart valves, since then I have had one of the valves replaced, and another op blocking leaks, at the moment I am waiting for an intravenous op to block other leaks, , over the last around three years I have had numerous TIAs, I used to go to hospital, but if I have one now I just stay at home and take things easy, the doctors at the hospital have so many different diagnoses I just get fed up, I am taking warfarin and one of the doctors told me this is more or less the cure

    I don’t know if you mentioned this, but I looked back to the video and I didn’t see it. What about MR head/brain without contrast?
    At my hospital, we have MRA of head (or CTA), MRA of neck (or CTA), MR of head/brain without contrast. For all strokes and Tias we also order the MR of head/brain w/o con.

I've read a few guidelines several times again and again... I youtubed videos but I didn't find any video as comprehensive as yours. . Great piece of work... I really needed a detailed video. . Hi, my husband just had a suspected TIA yesterday morning....he had only slurred in speech and numbness on tounge... that lasted 5-10 minutes , the time we arrived in the hospital, he is perfectly fine.... the doctor did an mri and no traces of stroke found.... the doctor assessment of him is low risk for a strike occurrence within week....that why he is just an outpatient....some series of test were also made yesterday and today...but he is not given any medicine like aspirin....is that ok?

    where I can find ASCVD that you talked about it one of your videos?

    • @IM.MEDICAL
      @IM.MEDICAL  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, if you want to calculate the ASCVD score, just type in in google and go to the MDCALC app. If you want to read up more about the score itself- Uptodate is your best resource. Hope this helps.

    Hey I know this has been a long time and I trust you are feeling better and doing well. I had TIA on Nov 24, 2020. I am 42 years old and this is the first time this ever happened to me, it is one of the scariest moments of my life, I was rushed to the ER and tons of exams was done, mri confirmed that I had suffered three strokes which I was not aware off, however they did not find the cause of it, this has left me more confused. My greatest challenge here is the post stroke symptoms, I have not been myself ever since this happened, I am severely fatigued, low pressure, rapid heart beat, headaches and just a general feelings of being unwell. I never had any underlying problems prior to this attack, never had diabetes or high pressure. They put me on aspirin and satin because according to them my cholesterol is a bit high. But guys these after attack symptoms are killing me, can anyone relate? How long will this weird symptoms disappear, I missed being and feeling my normal self, right now I feel like a monster has enter in my body, I feel my brain vibrate and I can't think straight. It is a feeling that is just hard to explain. Grateful for any tip or if anyone can relate.

    What if you had symptoms but MRI showed nothing ...still TIA

    • @kathywhitaker1042
      @kathywhitaker1042 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I'm high risk...scary

    • @IM.MEDICAL
      @IM.MEDICAL  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI, Kathy. TIA definition = you had neurologic deficits, then those symptoms went away, and MRI showed no evidence of acute stroke. If a patient still has neurologic deficits, and MRI ruked out stroke, then you need to look for other causes of the deficits other than stroke, like seizure with Todd's paralysis, MS (needs MRI with gadolinium contrast to Dx), hypoglycemia, hyponatremia, hypocalcemia, hypotension, etc
