If you love Black Myth: Wukong and the story of Bajie, please take your time to read this, it might be long, but it’s worth it! Zhu Bajie(our fav piggy friend) was originally a marshal general in heaven, and he saw Chang'e (The bunny lady) in a celestial party, fell in love with her at first site, so he started chasing her, and accidentally bumped into Zizhu'er (The Spider) which was one of Chang'e's handmaidens, and she fell love with Bajie at first site. However, Chang'e had a secret affair with the Jade Emperor, and Zhu Bajie, having seen something he shouldn't have, was banished from heaven and cursed. The curse was that he would endure 1,000 heartbreaks, and anyone he loved would be doomed to misfortune. At first, he tried to resist his fate and became engaged to the daughter of an elder in a village. But he transformed into a pig, and his fiancée was repulsed by his appearance. Heartbroken, he wandered aimlessly and eventually encountered a group of women bathing. But what a destiny indeed, among them there was a Spider Woman, she is actually the reincarnation of Zizhu'er, Chang'e's handmaiden! It turns out that she knew, and heard that Bajie was banished from heaven, so without thinking twice she decided to abandon everything in the celestial to follow him. However, Zizhu'er had turned into a spider because she had misheard and misunderstood that Bajie had transformed into one. In Chinese, "pig" is pronounced "zhu," while "spider" is "zhizhu." Sounds pretty alike. So Mistakenly, Zizhu'er thought that her beloved Bajie the Marshal of court had become a spider. Despite their differing appearances, they recognised each other and showed their true form. They were like a family and had a daughter together. But fearing the curse would strike again, Zhu Bajie left her once more, in order to protect his family he loved…adding more salt to injury, if you really pay attention to the details in the video, Zizhu’er has always kept the same makeup since the first time they’ve bumped into each other, hoping that if they ever meet again in the mortal world he could recognise her right away!
@@Eisen_Mann Right, it's not the Jade Emperor, it's "bazhexinjun" deity of 80% . The developer of the game bought the animation 20% off allowing the mystery lover to be there without knowing who he is.
He did not wander and encounter a group of women bathing. A lot time passes between the two scenes. Basically, he ends up fighting Wukong and joining him and the Tang Monk on their Journey to the West where they then stumble into these spider guais bathing. In the novel, Bajie doesn’t know them and Wukong kills them all eventually because he tried to trade their lives for the rest of the party that got captured and poisoned by the Hundred Eyed Guai but he refused, wanting to eat the monk, which prompted Wukong to beat them all to death in a rage. In the game, Wukong instead prevented everyone from being poisoned and tasked Bajie with finishing off the spiders while he fought the centipede. Bajie killed 6 of them but couldn’t kill the one who was his previous lover and so he spared her. From their night together, the little girl (The Sixth Sister) was born.

I’ve noticed that while some streamers have grasped the story, others are still missing the point-some even say it’s a tale of love at first sight! But what many fail to understand is why Zhu Bajie walked away so seemingly heartless. There’s a crucial moment in the story when, as his wife is on the brink of death, Zhu Bajie glances up at the sky before turning to leave. He’s being watched by the gods, powerless to act. He has no choice but to walk away, because if the gods discover what’s happening, his daughter’s life would be in danger too. He longed to see his daughter and wife one last time, but he just couldn’t. Without the deeper context you mentioned, it’s nearly impossible to grasp the symbolism woven into the animation. Only those who understand the entire framework can truly appreciate its themes-shattered mirrors, separation, helplessness, hope, and reunion. It’s all part of a cycle.
Even Wukong the Great Sage and Bull Demon King (who's even much more stronger than Wukong + Bajie combine) can't win against heaven then what Bajie can do to protect his family ?
@@thewatcher62 I'm glad you brought this up-it's a great question. However, you missed a crucial detail. Erlang Shen once said, "The only one who can defeat Sun Wukong is himself." Surely you don’t think Sun Wukong can't defeat the heavenly court! Let me tell you, Sun Wukong is capable of overcoming the heavenly court, and he has done so before。And that's why he sacrificed himself in the process in the game. Although he could defeat them, the heavenly beings would never spare their monkey, and Wukong wouldn’t let his brothers and sisters suffer either. The same applies to Zhu Bajie.
@@thewatcher62 Also, I’m not sure if you’ve read the original “Journey to the West.” During Sun Wukong’s journey to the West, he was able to kill many formidable demons with a single strike. However, for many others, he had to call upon gods to subdue them. Do you know why? Some of these demons were gods from heaven who had descended to the earthly realm, so they had powerful backers in the celestial court! Wukong eventually learned to be more astute-he needed to understand the background of each demon. Many people, perhaps from their childhood readings, misunderstood and thought Wukong couldn’t defeat these demons, but that’s not the case! These are all about understanding complex human relationships! It’s hard to believe that “Journey to the West” was created so many years ago, yet its allegorical tales, much like Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi,” vary widely depending on who is viewing them, presenting entirely different stories. Yet, the depth of Chinese culture and its metaphors are profound! These metaphors are very practical; they can be applied to your own country, your government, even your family. This isn’t just a mythological story; it’s a narrative steeped in realism.

@@zhengjiao6663 You’re correct that Sun Wukong has repeatedly challenged the heavenly realm, but as you mentioned, ultimately he confronts limitations due to the sheer authority and power of the celestial beings. This narrative tension is brilliantly captured in the game’s climax, where Sun Wukong, now free from the Tightening Band, is set to turn the heavenly order on its head. If his defeat were predestined, this ending would indeed resemble a suicide mission. Yet, this is not the same Monkey King confined under Mount Wuxing by Buddha; he is now far stronger and far more strategic in his approach. As the ancient Chinese saying goes, “Know the enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster.” Although Sun Wukong might have lacked the strength to defy the heavens in the past, he now possesses not just a fiercer resolve and deeper knowledge, but also a team. Previously alone, he now finds potential allies even among the gods, some of whom harbor their own agendas. Thus, you cannot dismiss the possibility that Sun Wukong might now be able to challenge the celestial realm effectively.
Thank you so much for this video, I always go to tears with this animation. The most interesting thing to see is the girls, because they "feel" more the emotion, I feel represented rs
Most people misinterpret the animation. Bajie is a lustful guy, even when he was a deity in heaven. When he bumped into a handmaiden of heaven, she fell in love with him, but he was only interested in the moon goddess. When he saw her having a tryst, the couple exiled him from heaven to be reborn as a mortal man. Even then, he retained his lustful nature. But after living thru many deaths and rebirths (represented by him running through the cloths), he was reborn as a pig. Another possibility is that he turned from human to pig yaoguai directly. Whereas the handmaiden he bumped into came down to heaven to find him, and was reborn as a spider, who then gradually cultivated into the form of a human. When they met again, they recognized each other instantly, and he realized that she was the true love of his life. After they had sex and a daughter, Bajie wanted to keep them safe by not acknowledging their feelings, because he knew if he did so, Heaven would use them against him.
Another possibility is that he was initially a pig yaoguai shapeshifted to a human after being banished but after a hangover he accidentally busted himself
My favorite part of all these reactions of this clip is that how people laughed at the moment bajie jumped into water and the silence when the flash back came out. Every thing is amazing, the game, the video, the song.
Because of cultural differences, many foreign youtubers do not know the original story and related knowledge. They don't understand the frustration between the love that is sought but not given and the reality of the helplessness of love but not given. A pig and a spider are two homophones in Chinese, which represent the male cultivation and female weaving in the ancient Chinese farming society. Perhaps they never realized how romantic it is when a pig and a spider embrace each other.
That love story is so deep and tragic. Yet how telling is this video. Those women and men who understand deeper emotions and are not afraid to express vs. immature mostly males who laugh cannot stop talking and never understood the whole point of the story. Because they were too self-conscience. That was really interesting to watch.
im 38 and have been in a lot of failed relationship. the woes of bajie always sadden me even in the original source where its not as sympathetic to bajie as this version. i havent played the game but when i watched streamer playing this part i immediately know what the creator wanted to convey in this. it really broke me.

Well tbh as a guy, it has been a long time since i saw a love story presented so masterfully. No gimmicks no conditions, just a story of sacrifice. This is the real thousand years love story

This segment of the ending cutscene from Black Myth: Wukong presents a tragic and complex love story involving Tian Peng (later known as Zhu Bajie) and the celestial figures in his past. Unlike traditional depictions, in this retelling, Tian Peng admires the Taiyin Star Lord (not the moon goddess Chang’e). Along his journey, he encounters a celestial maiden, one of the Taiyin Star Lord’s attendants, who holds the title "Chang’e" (since all of her attendants bear this title as an official rank, rather than as an individual name). It is this Chang’e who falls in love with Tian Peng. Tian Peng's fate takes a sharp turn when he inadvertently stumbles upon a secret meeting between the Jade Emperor and the Taiyin Star Lord. Fearing that his reputation might be tarnished by this discovery, the Jade Emperor punishes Tian Peng by banishing him to the mortal world, where he is transformed into a pig demon. The Chang’e attendant, unable to forget Tian Peng, sacrifices her immortality and descends to the mortal world, taking the form of a spider demon. She chooses this fate in order to be near him, knowing that it will lead to her eventual death. When Zhu Bajie, now in his pig demon form, arrives at Gao Village, he mistakes a mortal woman named Gao Cuilan for his lost love, the Chang’e he remembers. Driven by his love and longing, he pursues her, but Gao Cuilan, terrified by Bajie's true form, rejects him. This mistaken identity deepens the tragedy of Bajie's emotional confusion. As Zhu Bajie continues his journey westward, he eventually reaches the Pansi Cave, where he encounters the reincarnated Chang’e, now in the form of the Spider Demon. She immediately recognizes Bajie despite his pig-headed form. The two fall in love once again, and she gives birth to his daughter. However, due to her absorbing one of Bajie’s six roots (spiritual senses), her fate is sealed, and she knows that her death is inevitable. She chooses to stay with him until the end, waiting in the cave, hoping to show him their daughter. Before her death, the Spider Demon poignantly remarks, “You’re still as foolish as before.” This statement refers not only to Bajie’s earlier mistake in confusing Gao Cuilan with her, but also to his reluctance to acknowledge their daughter and their love out of fear of retribution from the Heavenly Court. The Spider Demon understands that Bajie’s denial is his way of protecting them from the inevitable consequences of divine punishment. Though Bajie is harsh towards her in their final moments, both he and the Spider Demon understand the emotional undercurrents beneath their words. Bajie knows that acknowledging his love for her would bring ruin upon them, and his cold words are an attempt to sever ties for their safety. Nevertheless, the Spider Demon knows that Bajie still cares for her and their daughter, and she accepts her fate. In her final moments, the Spider Demon dies with the knowledge that she has seen Bajie one last time. The entire exchange is a bittersweet reflection of their doomed love. Both Zhu Bajie and the Spider Demon are ancient beings who understand each other's hearts without needing to say much. Their final conversation, despite its apparent harshness, reveals the depth of their love and the helplessness of their situation. The tragic reality is that they are both bound by the rules of the celestial and mortal realms, and their love, though powerful, is not enough to overcome these constraints. The closing lines of their exchange also carry symbolic weight. The Spider Demon, in a wordplay on “spider” and “pig,” says, “You know what Tian Peng reincarnated as? He became a pig. Then I shall become a spider.” This reflects their inevitable, cyclical fates, predetermined by the heavens. Despite their deep connection, fate has written them into roles where they are destined never to truly be together, like a pair where one spins webs while the other is caught in them. This imagery ties into the ancient ideal of “man plows, woman weaves,” a metaphor for the domestic, agricultural harmony that is unattainable for them in their tragic love story.
Thanks you for the video!! Just subscribed and is it possible to have a longer version with fewer ppl on screen each time so we may hear what streamers are saying? Thank you!
In my opinion, she tries to hide her emotion with a set smile but fails. I observe that she barely change the amplitude of her smile, and that means she doesn't want to show how sad she is.
Zhu Bajie was originally a Grand Marshall, Tian Peng of the celestial court. He admired The Moon Goddess (white haired lady) and chased after her. He bumps into a maid-in-waiting (Violet Spider) and she falls in love with Zhu Bajie. Zhu Bajie finds out that the Jade Emperor is having an affair with the goddess of the moon and the Jade Emperor, in order to hide his affair, so he banishes Zhu Bajie into the mortal realm. Seeing this, Chang'e willingly gives up her godhood to be with her lover and gets sent to the mortal realm and transformed as a yaoguai (spider). After Zhu Bajie was banished to the mortal realm, he wakes up in Gao Village and sees Gao Cuilan (a different person; she is not Chang’e). He chases after her thinking that she is his lover (Chang'e) but after seeing his true form as a pig, Gao Cuilan gets freaked out and he runs away in tears. This is not Chang'e as she would recognize Zhu Bajie immediately. Fast forward a bit, to the cave/hot spring scene (this is during the Journey to the West). Tang Monk get kidnap by spiders yaoguai for eat his meats, He comes across spider village to save his master and see some spider yaoguais taking a bath. He turns into a catfish so he can get a better look at the ladies (yes, in the novel he is kind of a pervert). He swims towards the Violet Spider who immediately recognizes the catfish as Zhu Bajie. The two reunite as lovers, however the Jade Emperor has decreed that their love always be destined to end in heartbreak (Zhu Bajie was sentenced to 1,000 lifetimes of love tragedies). That's why he have to walk away from his family

i like how people have seen so many interpretations of falling into depression that they though bajie was falling after seeing them together wasnt literally.
The fox guai was evil and an obstacle to the journey. In JTTW, the group had to kill a lot yaoguais to complete the journey and killing them is completely justified. Like how Wukong ordered Bajie to murder all the spider sisters. Of course in BMW, they took the creative liberty to say Bajie spared one of the spiders.

Thank you so much for this video, I always go to tears with this animation. The most interesting thing to see is the girls, because they "feel" more the emotion, I feel represented rs
how the fuck are you hearing this animation over the cacophony of noise this fucktard shitstain edit of 36 far more talented content creators
I also cried over this chapter ending, now I'm in cycle 2, gonna enjoy the whole story one more time
Most people misinterpret the animation.
有想哭的感覺,那就是你也在情關之中,找回本來面目真愛就在那。
Because of cultural differences, many foreign youtubers do not know the original story and related knowledge. They don't understand the frustration between the love that is sought but not given and the reality of the helplessness of love but not given. A pig and a spider are two homophones in Chinese, which represent the male cultivation and female weaving in the ancient Chinese farming society. Perhaps they never realized how romantic it is when a pig and a spider embrace each other.
Meanwhile at IGN: BMW won't be getting GoTY and we'll make sure it doesn't by tempering the polls.
Thank you for this😍
I really waiting for mashup reaction about this chapter cutscene
you can tell people with stronge emotion
“Yo! It's the Gang!!!" 😆
yo it’s the boizzzzz
That love story is so deep and tragic. Yet how telling is this video. Those women and men who understand deeper emotions and are not afraid to express vs. immature mostly males who laugh cannot stop talking and never understood the whole point of the story. Because they were too self-conscience. That was really interesting to watch.
im 38 and have been in a lot of failed relationship. the woes of bajie always sadden me even in the original source where its not as sympathetic to bajie as this version. i havent played the game but when i watched streamer playing this part i immediately know what the creator wanted to convey in this. it really broke me.
This is a wonderful tragic story
i watched the show as a kid but ever rly understood any of it it seems
gosh why is this so beautiful?
when she turning into animal shape they laugh after tha't thay sad
I'm sure those who understand will cry
We better be killing Jade Emperor in the DLC God of War III style
I’m not familiar with the novel but the imagery and music told a beautiful story. It’s to bad some of the streamers didn’t appreciate the lessons being shared.
Good job bro, and can you also make a video of people's reactions to the headless man singing at the beginning of chapter 2 please?
I will~
All the women are quiet lol
Well tbh as a guy, it has been a long time since i saw a love story presented so masterfully.
No gimmicks no conditions, just a story of sacrifice. This is the real thousand years love story
The players who cried means they have understood the story of BaJie and also have had experienced similar or memorable relationship. We can feel BaJie and ZiZhu.
2:46
most of them burst into laughters seeing the transformation
we just burst into tears
Those who laugh didn't understand, but those who cry did understand the plot.
if u put them altogether like this I cant unsee how annoying they are, especially the one that cant just shut up for a sec
I have a newfound respect for Maximillian, he watched the whole thing without saying a word, and with a straight face. He may not understand the whole story, but he sure as hell respect the work.
The second girl in the second row is the most lovely. The fifth girl in the second row is the most elegant.
good work bro
Verry good , 5.6 pls
Me after finishing chapter 4 and tearing up 😢
Thanks you for the video!! Just subscribed and is it possible to have a longer version with fewer ppl on screen each time so we may hear what streamers are saying? Thank you!
Girls were all crying.
The ones who can't shut up during the entire thing probably later think the story can't be easily understood.
Thank u
Thanks bro
by the end all the asian girls were crying, and the white girls was confused hahaha
Actually I see at least 3 Ccaucasian ladies are in tears; besides, I see a few gentlemen are obviously in tears, too.
if this game did not win the reward GOTY, i would bite my tongue and die
Sir/ma'am, the first chapter animation last line already taught us, the game does not need a title to prove itself
No, don't hurt yourself,my friend. All the Chinese netizens are looking forward to see Concordia to win that prize😂. That will be real interesting.
My guy down right below mush have gone through something tough
could understand it better if got subtitle for the song on the cutscene
Omg I feel like I'm in a middle school class... SILENCE!!! LOL
You got me !
The sixth person in the first row, she laughed the most happily. I'm sure she didn't understand at all and even misunderstood the whole plot.
In my opinion, she tries to hide her emotion with a set smile but fails.
I observe that she barely change the amplitude of her smile, and that means she doesn't want to show how sad she is.
Imagine a girl who loves you for hundreds of years who doesn't mind who you are or how you look, but you have to give her up to go west…😭😭😭
Sounds like in a dim sum restaurant 🤣🤣
what i don't understand is... and someone please explain to me... if this is real time, how can anyone be talking during this cutscene.
All the women were crying lmao
This is the ideal romantic love like in the fairytales.
Unyielding love for a thousand lifetimes, i am not surprised 😂
@@kingseiryu929 I’ve noticed that while some streamers have grasped the story, others are still missing the point-some even say it’s a tale of love at first sight!
Chpater 5 please
IF THIS FKING GAME NOT WIN GOTY 100% RIGGED NO GAME BETTER THAN WUKONG IN 2024
百家争鸣
Arhhhh cant find that nenneci video anymore
Can you please make a different version of this where we only see the best reactions to this ending and not in this mashup format because it's just hard to focus but like one after another i know it be a long video but please i can only ask you because you have all the source pleaseee😭
果然还是妹子们心软,看看那些大老爷们每一个掉泪的

Who was the streamer made up like the spider sister?
仙人之兮列如麻😂
Wow
Me who know the original story line😢
❤
We have a similar story but the boy is wukong in a 90’s Hong Kong movie, I’m pretty much sure this story is inspired by that movie.
周星驰的《大话西游》
I was expecting radio silence as the song progressed because it's heart rending and poignant, but alas.

It's so fucking annoying as a compilation, id rather indiv streamer reaction
i like how people have seen so many interpretations of falling into depression that they though bajie was falling after seeing them together wasnt literally.
All the girls crying but the guys are fine
True... But why? (I'm a guy don't know why either)
@@yibomusic7643 girls are emotional being guys are logical mind being
@@fongfongc8845 bro, you can't really believe that 💀
Serves him right though . He killed the fox guai for nothing . 😢😢😢
In his defense, she was blocking the journey. Also, that is unrelated to Bajie’s punishment.
By killing the concubine/the fox, Bajie actually did a favor for Bull King unknowingly.
The fox princess actually made a strife in his family.
@@Alan-yb8kx yeah but who decided who is evil and who isn't ?
When ba jie killed the sisters , are we forgetting that they came for the sisters .
The fox guai was not evil though . She was in love with the bull king . She was no more evil then the iron fan princess
Great idea of reactions from players. It would even greater, for me, if I could click on each person and jump to his/her original clip. :). Very very nice work!
I read an article about body language of men. When they feel vulnerable and anxious they will tend to use their hand to cup their chin or hold their head. Reading their body language can tell a lot even without any tears
