I recommend making a new video on this and just focus on the 1981 countercade…no one has done a review of that machine…I would focus on the gears and the options of speedy Ms. Pacman and rapid fire Galaga…focus on the screen quality like you did….and make the title “Arcade 1up Class of 81 Countercade Review 2023”
I admit, the raised edges may look cool but are not practical. Light up marquee would have been nice, but not an issue for me. Remember, the whole business of these classic arcade systems is to keep the cost low and the price high.
I have the 2022 (2023) Pac-Man just like your Class of 81 in this review. These newer Countercades have the better LCD Screens in them, just like the 2-player Countercades.
Almost misunderstood your question. No, I did not see the Target version until I looked just now. Tempting, but would yield three out of five new games in my case.
@@YourDadAcademy - Sorry, was offline when you replied. Yes, it's an option. Change it in the gear box section you see in the video. While these units do not claim to have arcade ROMs, they do seem to have the same arcade ROM options that I recall. Only pixel smoothing is something they added.
No, Galaxian is actually the hardest game. You get one missile at a time while the enemy drops a barrage of missiles on you. I only recently got to 7000 points for the extra ship. It beeps in rapid succession. I had no idea what that was at first.
The original Class of '81 stand up cabinet had a code you could input to play Pac-Man. The code is Up, up, up Down, down, down Left, right, left, right, left. Maybe try putting in the code on the home screen to see if it works? I'll wait to see until i order one.
@@tron3entertainment Thank you so much for trying at least. The picture on the ad for that countercade actually shows Pac-Man on the screen so that's disappointing & also false advertising. Still a great lineup of games tho.
Ms Pac-Man & Ms Pac-Man/Galaga Awesome!🤩

I want to love this but the raised edges and lack of light up marquee on the newer countercades is a deal breaker for me.

Thank you for comparison review

Did you buy the 2023 version for $99.99 at Target?

Came across this review from another channel.

Does the Galaga have the option for rapid fire?
Yes, it's nice to try.
@@tron3entertainment so it is an option?

If it doesn't work on the main menu screen it might work on the Ms. Pacman home screen. 🤞
@@dr.awkward9075 - Just tried both. No dice. 🎲🎲🎲 Are you certain about the code? I won't be up much longer to try.
Just saw a video. Need to pop a credit at Ms Pac-man for it to work. Let me try.
Again, no dice. When I press 1 player it adds a credit and starts the game. No time to enter a code.
