    Antonio, I hope you are doing well. Will you explain what the acronym "SPDC" mean? and in what ways may I help the people of the Shan state? I would love to help these people too.

    This group was reportedly given territory inside of Burma to rule over in exchange. according to ALL news sources "They played a significant part in the capture of Manerplaw, a rebel Karen stronghold headquarter." you can and should look it up

    SPDC is a euphamism it stands for state Peace and Development councile which is what teh junta calls its army.

    Good work, Antonio! Sly should see this and respond to yr request. We feel sorry for the Shan people as well as other ethnics of Burma who had gone thru so many years of neglect and suppression.

    thanks for the comment and support. the karen, shan and other do communicate. but, they are in different states, shan state and karen state respectively, so there isnt too much they can do, but they share intelligence and training sometimes.

    thanks, i appreciate what you are saying. actually there are hmong still in the jungle in lao and they need medical attention. for the hill tribes, there is tons that you can do. send me email and i will connect you with some reputable aid organizations

    Yes, i agree, the genocide is terrible and i pray, as you do, that the shan will win and the race will survive. thank you for your continued support.

    No, sadly there is not even one major super power involved in Burma. if US, UN or even Uk would step up they could help release Aung San Suu Kyi from prison and organize elections. But they havent. you are very confused about the issue.

    I appreciated you putting all this stuff on the internet. What's the different between Khmer boxing, Muay Lao and Muay Thai? Is the Bokator the older version of all these arts? Thanks!

    since you obviously know absolutely nothing about this war, the buddhist karen faction is called The Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) and they are OFFICIALLY that means they say it, i say it, SPDC says, everyone agrees (except you) they are officially classified as a ceasefire army, which, by definition, means they are still under arms but are not fighting the SPDC. they work for the SPDC.

I found the video informative I had know idea about this struggle in Burma. The Shan martial arts look pretty good to me if? Your intentions are honourable I wish you luck with your efforts.

    Just the thing about conscription (as I have just finished mine in the Royal Thai Navy): my professor warned me that right now they're not using drafts anymore. They stop a bus on the road and ask all men to step down and join the army right away because their country need them. It's either for that or for forced labor. Is this true?

    In your opinion, what do you think chances are of the SSA defeating the SPDC army, considering that the junta starved the people and put all aid and oil money into the military (plus THE wedding)?

    On a related note, my Burmese instructor actually said that now even the soldiers are sick of their own army. Many left already.

    Those guy's are bad asses. I lived in Thailand for years, I know the Burmese Gov. needs to go. Is there any PMC's that is operating against them in Burma? I'd love info if there are any.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes, that is true. it is foced conscription at gun point but usually no choice is given. they arent offered the option of being porters. they are just killed if they resist.

    So you were wrong about teh religion and you were wrong about the western powers. it is amazing inside of one hour you recanted half of what you said. now lets work on the other half. specifically which puppets are western powers creating? and specifical;ly which western powers are we talking about?

    I cant believe it, thi guy Urqiqi who obviously works for SPDC sent me a million terrible emails. now he has closed his youtube account. the world is a wierd place. i am trying to help the shan the best way i know how, as a journalist and film guy and now i am in philippines studying emergency medical technician so i can help more in burma. i am doing what i can. please forgive me if it is not enough.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    so why do you want to kill the ethnic people in burma? and why does SPDC keep her in detention?

    the shan havent chnaged religions and i work with shan and this video is about shan. once again, which western power is using the shan as puppets? to my knowledge, and i have spent years working on both sides of the border, there is no significant involvent of ANY western power with the Shan.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    No, no major western govenrment, power or missionary group has gone there in decades. if by "them" you mean the shan, they are solidly Buddhist, nearly 100% of them. the major cultural influence is from Thailand, not the west. actually America didnt instal christianity in vietnam, it was France. and it wasnt protestantism, it was catholicism. but that isnt why the war happened. How could you possibly so misinformed?

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, as a matter of fact the only catholic president of US was assasinated, so there was no religious card to play. the catholics set up their own armies, as did the cao dai and hoa hao because they were against the communists and this had nothing to do with the americans or any western power. many of them were anti western also.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    The SPDC have 400,000 thousand troops, the third largest army in asia. burma spends more than 20% of its gdp on military. most soldiers are conscripts. they dont want to fight. they are tortured and starved like everyone else.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    The SSA doesnt have to beat teh SPDC. they arent trying to verthrow the government. they would support the over throw and they support NLD and Aung San Su Kyi but are not involved in that struggle because they are too far away and too small. the SSA is concentrating on getting independence for Shan State.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    As long as the SSA holds out and keeps fighting, buying time, hopefully the world will eventually step in to help them. all they need is recognition from USA or UN and that would be the end of the struggle.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am on a list with a number of aid organizations waiting to go into burma as an emergency medical technician to aid the cyclone survivors. why do you support foreign intervntion in the cyclone but not in the genocide? the gnocide has killed more people than the cyclone

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    Obviously i support the shan and karen. i would fight or die for them. we also need to pray for the rohingas and all of the ethnic minorities in Burma.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    just curious, why do you live in USA if you support the SPDC? shouldn t you be in burma if burma is so great? does it bother you in america that people have human rights?

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have written a ton of artciles on this struggle. i am publishing one article and one video per week till the movie is released. if you want me to send them to you or your professor that would be great. send me a private message with your email.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    Historically, and i am sure you have read the history extensively, Shan State was never completely part of Burma. even under the British they were a autonomous. they were ruled by the Shan princes.

    they cant. you know that SPDC commits gang rape and burns their villages. they are defending themselves as best they can until the UN hopefully helps them.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    there are two separate, but related, struggles in burma. all burmese are having their human right villated and are denied a democracy. but in the tribal areas there is genocide. just this year, more than 2,000 tribal people have been murdered by SPDC. This is not true of ethnic Burmans, only of ethnics, like the shan and karen.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes i speak thai but shan is also similar to thai and many soldiers speak both. i support aung sna su kyi but the independence of shanland is a separate issue and doesnt need to wait for her to be released, especially since she has never stated that she has a plan to give independence to shanland. so i hope and pray for her release, but this is unrelated to the shanland issue.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    which part of my video is full of shit? the part about burma, the war, genocide? please tell me. "full of shit" wasnt quite enough information. You may be right, but i am not sure what you were referring to.

    the buddist karen armed faction works for spdc i think this because everyone who knows about burma knows this. they are a proxy army for spdc. how do yuo not know that? you dont seem to have ever been to or researched the places you have so many opinions about.

    even though there isnt any resources to exploit (like oil) america should do the right thing and help out the shan.

  • @brooklynmonk1

    Khun sa is dead, read the papers. col. Yawd Serk is the leader now, and the intent is to separate shanland as a separate country and yo give freedom to all ethnics within shan state.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @pheonixprince3859
      @pheonixprince3859 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      the reason thailand gov don.'t support karen is they are not relate to thai /the shan is part of thai family tree or speak close language to thailand and laos. I speak laos and I can understand most of what they(SHAN) are talking about / the same as I understand thai because 80 percent are the same there may be word here and there that I don't know but for most part I understand by listening couple time I can even figure out what is the meaning of the new word that is not in the laos language.....if you are thai gov. you do the same invest in people speaking your language because no matter what happen they most likely will side with you....when it come to money they do little for karen to thai gov. is all about winning all angle of support ...thai gov have play the game all these years so they know who to invest for to get the most for the money .....SORRY TO KAREN for not speaking thai language even thought a large karen population is in thailand

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes it is called total war but your not supposed to gang rape young girls or burn whole villages full of civillians. am i really a dumb ass for believing that?

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    i dont really understand, why would you want to kill innocent shan civilians: women, children, and old people. that is what SPDC does. why do you support that?

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    i have met a lot of people and none of them suffered eye damage. so perhaps you could also meet me and it wouldnt hurt yoru eyes. but what is the real reason for your agression? also, i am not a bitch, bitch is a female. i am male.

  • @brooklynmonk1
    @brooklynmonk1  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    The karen were not made christian by the americans. they were made christian by the british. but thechristians are the ones fighting for democracy and independence, not the buddhist karen who are drug runners.

    the shan /thai/lao or thai lao and other group like thai dum / thai lue are all the same people speaking same language with 70 to 80 percent understanding each other... 2000 yrs ago they are the same people branch out as time past ....thai boxing originate in the budha temple due to many KUNG FU chinese monk take refuge in thai land /laos teaching the chinese ART to local MONK ..... the 1600 and 1700 chinese monk escape political changes in china many TEMPLE GOT BURN FOR ACCUSING SUPPORTING REBEL as MANCHU try to attack / kill all enemy......thai boxing is the result of simplify the chinese kung fu by the local monk as time past and many chinese monk die or return to regular people -- 15 percent of thailand population is chinese and the 4 biggest bank in thailand 3 are control by chinese that mean that economically chinese is very powerfull in thailand and very powerfull in political too... consider the last female priminister is chinese ..... thai boxing is out of the BIRD STYLE crane and the chicken style....the elbow strike are from chicken wing strike and you can still see the crane influence in thai boxing ............even thought it is no longer consider kung fu /it is influence by chinese ART....chinese monk also teach/influence chi kung meditation breathing which thai and lao budha temple never know or teach until they learn from the chinese MONK
