I’d like to do a 100 day project soon, drawing everyday in an a6 sketchbook. I’d love to fill a sketchbook with sketches of buildings and shopfronts around the world from Google Streetview.
I started 100 days project after you. I loved the idea of a very small a6 format, so it would be not a big deal to really do it daily. Mine didn't have a theme. But 3 days in and all three drawings are around the theme of kiddo's life. I am with a 4yo 24/7. So he is aaaalll around me. So I guess my project will be 100 days of Lucas. Or 100 days of childhood.
@@elschristensen8434 oh good idea! Emma Carlisle told me about a thing called MapCrunch where it like teleports you to different Google Maps locations to draw. Have you tried it?
Thank you for reminding me to let go of expectations and accept that there are ugly drawings. I'm doing a challenge and I find it so HARD! not to rework everything until I'm happy with the result. Okay, it's nice to have a pretty picture on each page, but it takes so much time and they say you learn more when you start a botched picture from scratch instead of overworking the ugly one.
I randomly saw this on my feed, and happy I came across your video. I am quite new, my love for creating art has resurfaced with so much passion and I have decided to start my own 100 day project. I am trying hard to not worry about being perfect, and just being in the zone and trusting the process. Here goes nothing! Day 1 starts now!!
@@bob-in4nt well, tbh, I didn’t stick to drawing for 100 days, but I haven’t stopped creating art in other forms. Between drawings, watercolors, junk journaling…. I count it as a win. Even if it wasn’t what I imagined, I still count it as a win ☺️
I love your enthusiasm. I am a semiretired senior gal who has only recently decided to take up drawing. Something in which I can take with me when I go strolling through the mountains near my home. Since I am about as new to drawing as you can possibly be taking up a challenge of drawing seems perfect. Thank you, dear, for sharing your experiences and knowledge.❤
I like when you say ‘Drawing hundred day is the theme’. I started ‘one page’ a day for 30 days. I ponder about what is the theme. Your words simplified my thought. One page a day is my theme.
I always wanted to try and do the 100 day challenge, but I could never stick with it. I think I'll start off small like 15 day drawing, then once I hit that goal, I'll continue it and aim for 25-30-40 and so on until I reached 100.
Just came across this lovely video now. Such a charming host - encouraging , cheerful and full of common sense. I think my Day 1 topic will be a drawing of all the different points she made …thanks Katie

What a lovely, well timed video, thanks Katie! I've been thinking about doing a 100 day project and finding this on my twitter feed is the sign I'm taking to start one :D I'm going to draw daily, get back into a rhythm with my sketchbook and see what happens!

Have you found your way yet? Or are you still procrastinating? If the latter: There are many ways to start. Just three examples: 1. Take a course, online or better live in your neighbourhood. They'll tell you what to do and help you improve and make progress. 2. If you can't or won't commit to a course, there are hundreds, thousands of TH-cam videos with good tutorials that you can follow. 3. If you really don't want to follow anybody's instructions, just start on your own. Draw what you see, anything. Draw from life, whatever surrounds you. Or draw from photos or other paintings and drawings. It doesn't matter, how it looks at the beginning. The only thing that is important is: Do it! Start! Even if you feel that you can't draw and your drawings look awful: They can only get better if you get started and then get going - with a 100-day-challenge for example!
Loved this video - thanks for the ideas.... Would you believe that drawing every day was the instigator for Knit With Hannah. The process helped me find daily creativity again after a long period of illness and recovery. I'd been diving in 'when I felt like it' rather than letting it be my life, so it made a big change. I could see the beauty in what I was creating and find confidence again.
