- When this cat was found, she could only lift her head.
No one but her rescuers believed it could get any better. Watch how they help this sweet cat build up enough strength to walk again ❤️
Keep up with @kknowicka and more rescue cats @saavinglives on Instagram!
its enough to make a grown man cry 😭
Yup, grown man here 🥲

Yes!!!!
Agreed! Thank youuuuu
I was going to say that too ❤
❤❤❤❤
You beat me to it 😊
Don't put them to sleep. They want to live as much as we do. Thank you for sticking it out.
Don't forget, for every success story, there are stories where the animal struggles in pain for a long time then dies.
Just like us, sometimes yes, don't give up. But also just like us, sometimes someone isn't going to get better and it is better go reduce their pain.
This cat was obviously not suffering and was trying. But saying that someone should NEVER put to sleep is brutal.
"they want to live as much as we do" crying
@@FFKonoko I know. I've lived through 4 failed attempts ( FLV x 2, FIV x 1 FIP x 1) & it really breaks you emotionally. Only 1 successful amputee TBH. But he appreciates it dearly I can see it. He even moved in with me. Now he's my 3 legged buddy along with another very old & blind female rescue & my 2 regulars.
@@THEKITTYK-AT ROFL... That kitten of your is adorable. Looks like the 1 I have when he was a kitten. Same colour scheme.
It depends. That cat had potential for recovery. She didnt seem in pain. But some cats have injuries so intense that leaves them unable to play or eat. So yes, putting them down is the best option in that case
To the young woman in the video: as magnificent as your cat is -- and her recovery is nothing short of breathtaking -- YOU are a force for good in this world, at a time when we need all the goodness, kindness, compassion, and love we can possibly get.
And I say this without hyperbole: thank you for making the world a better place.
Thank you for taking the time and not giving up.

And this is how it’s done!!!
My parents had a cat who had a stroke that left him blind and paralyzed. The vet recommended putting him down.
Long story short he learned to walk again and even regained some of his vision. Lived another 5or 6 years.
Dude that is actually really awesome, that's actually just really nice to hear
Thank you❤😢
❤❤❤ this! Need more people like you.
❤❤❤❤
❤ fantastic story, heartwarming❤ what love can do....
When I adopted my cat he got very sick, the vet said he wouldn't last a week so I said I was going to give him the best week of his life... Today he is 2 years old and very happy❤
Love makes a big difference

Thanks for not giving up on her!
This is an amazing story. I’m so happy you stuck with her. It’s just remarkable.
Aw poor baby, I’m glad she is better now
Thank you for for not giving up on this sweetheart You are truly a blessing 💕🐈
❤❤ thank you
I imagine most of the time vets say it is best, in a situation like this cat, to put her down because the vet is thinking about the cats quality of life. They dont usually see people who are willing to work so much with a cat and work so much with them that they are back to their old selves again. They are their new selves actually. Thank you so much for caring and loving this cat back to a great life once again!
Great point
Exactly. I hate when these people bs on veterinarians like it’s their fault. Especially bc this woman in video probably didn’t want to pay for treatment of the stray.
yeah, vets aren't usually cruel or evil. They see the cost and time requirements, and just know that most humans would never put in the necessary effort for quality of life.
Living can be pure hell for any human or animal in that condition, without extensive help. Adequate assistance is never a guarantee, but starvation and severe suffering is almost always a guarantee.
It's incredibly saddening to realize that euthanasia is mandatory for a vast majority of unwanted animals.
Nine lives. I have a tom that has come back to life many times. His luck will run out eventually. Each time he comes home he pours on the charm to get nursed back to health. He must be a terrible fighter since the back of his ears get clawed raw. He understands the triple antibiotic ointment I put on him makes the scabs more supple and helps him heal so he sits patiently while I dab it on. They figure things out.
Quality of life is always more important than your own feelings. Why put your old dog through chemo for his cancer? When all you’re doing is giving yourself a bit of extra time? You can’t explain to him why he feels so sick from the chemotherapy. You can’t explain that pain away. It’s just pain for that animal. Of course, there are cats and animals like the one in this video but unfortunately, this is a pretty rare recovery.
Thank you for not giving up on that beauty
crying. grown man, chillin at home. crying tears of happiness bc of the love and support you gave that pretty kitty. bless you 💙
Thank you so much for looking after that sweet baby. Thank you 🙏🏻

There was a site called "a kitten is a life." This precious baby exemplifies that title. We can see that she is worth the effort. You did save her life.

thank you for helping.. I feed cats outside and people run over my babies but god is big..
God bless this angel for helping this needy kitty❤
So happy for this little angel.. ❤
So happy for the kitty, beautiful kitty ❤
Pauvre Chou ❤
My 14 yo Cat had a blood clot go to his spine and was paralyzed. Vets said put him down. 2 weeks of therapy and love from his dad and he started walking and lived 10 more months.
Unless the spinal cord is severed then not even doctors know the outcome. I'm so pleased you worked so hard & loved this cat so much you gave the cat her life back. The cat obviously was willing to give it her all once she met you! ❤ Thank-you! Ontario, 🇨🇦 🐾
That's a miracle❤ you go little fighter❤❤❤
Yes I agree and a beautiful kitty ❤
Seems like a lot of times the Vet just want to put the animal to sleep without giving him/her a chance.!
It's not a miracle, it's shock to the spinal cord. It happens in people all the time. The difference it we don't give up on people without trying and we don't give zero hope unless there's proof of spinal cord disruption.
Because you gave her a reason, and she knew it. She knew you wouldn't leave her after saving and helping her. She gave you her full trust and when you gave yours she finally had a reason to try.
You saved her. Thank you for being an amazing human.
I believe the spirit is capable of healing to an extent, so I completely agree!

They should have put her down, it was cruel to allow her to live in pain.
It ain't that deep

Amazing !!! Thanks for investing the time in this cat.And his recovery!
She is beautiful. I'm so glad she can walk again. She's a fighter.
Thank you for believing in her! My dog had a fibrocartilagenous stroke last year and suddenly couldn’t walk. Of course I heard the whole “well you have to think about quality of life” speech. I waited and helped him and now he’s running and jumping and happy as could be with no problems
I hope if you switched vets that you brought him in one last time and remind them this is the dog they were saying that it was better to put him down.
I wound up bring in a 10 week old kitten who had a very bad infection and a broken leg. The vet quietly suggested putting him down and offered the other option of surgery to remove the leg to give him a chance. He's turning 3 this fall.
What kind of things did you do to help get him walking again?
Quality of life until you end up in the hospital and you try to tell them to put you down while they refuse to kill you only to take more money from you for being too sick.
@@Bethany342 They probably weren't suggesting it as their preferred option, it's just the option for most people who don't have the finances to cover surgery and a lot of people will put down their pets once they become incontinent, unfortunately
So glad you didn’t side with Dr. Death
Am i the only one that cried of happiness bc of the kitty?😭🥹

@@furrochurro i mean how she was paralyzed, some people can be so sick to animals
No, you are not the only one! 😂 ❤
I'm so happy that they ignored the Vet and worked patiently with her and she got better. Amazing and wonderful. I wonder if the Vet even did any X-rays or anything to determine if she had been hit by a car?! Seems more likely that she has a stroke or possibly fell from a high place, a tree or something and landed too hard, and possibly jarred nerves, so she was numbed and couldn't move. And with them working with her things got moved back into place again, slowly. Or she had a stroke, and had to recover and relearn and reteach her body to move. Either way, I'm so happy that beautiful cat recovered and is well again. For her and for them. She is obviously very loved! ❤
Yes. Humans at their best. Thanks for being awesome.
She is so beautiful thank you for working with her!!! ♥️🐈⬛💯♥️

@bbyneedscoke You are loved and important friend 🧡
@@100192001 That's a really nice thing to mention. Whenever somebody compares struggles I feel a bit sad, even if it's the truth. Sometimes it makes things a lot worse when you realise how irrational you're being and it feels like you shouldn't be allowed to struggle. It's nice to have a balance of "things could be worse" and "things are hard for me too though, and I'm still trying".
She doesn't really have a choice

This cat honorably served as an inspiration to all spinal cord injury patients out there. Thanks for not giving up, meow!

I had a similar situation with my kitten. We found him on the side of the road, paralyzed of all 4 legs, couldn’t walk. Took him to the vet, said something about fluid and blood buildup in the brain area, there was not much hope. We thought the cat wouldn’t walk again. Miraculously after some time and exercising, he could walk again! almost 99% as he did previously. I’m so glad we didn’t put him to sleep. It would have been like taking a life unnecessarily.
This made me cry. I'm so happy she achieved a better state of health, and I'm happy you persevered in helping her thru it all.
Yes!!! Just like us humans, everybody just needs a little time and patience to heal. Everybody deserves a chance at life

I love all your stories, especially ones like this where people don’t give up on animals!
You are not alone, man.
At the end of the video, I could not help but utter a long "woaahhhh". This is one of the best shorts I have seen.
The most attractive quality to a woman about a man is his ability to show kindness and love animals! ❤ As a woman I will tell you we don't care about how much money you have or how many muscles you have or even if you have hair or if you're bald a real woman and I stress that a real woman only cares about what's in a man's heart because what he has in his heart is what you're going to get back and that is what a real woman is looking for I am very fortunate that with my second husband I got exactly that ❤
Lol me too 😂
@@JigglyPuff777 I'm really glad to hear abt your second husband being so right for you!❤ My dad found the love of his life at over 65 years of age, and they are SO cute and inspiring to watch. They've been together for over 2 years now and it's still like they just met; giggling and happy and just puppy love!!
After seeing him abused by my mom growing up, I can't even begin to put into words how relieved and deeply happy it makes me feel to see how he laughs and smiles so happily now. It's like he's shining!! I hope everyone, at any age, can find someone that makes them this happy (whether as a friend or family or loved one) 🫶
When she was first trying to walk on the blanket she looked so determined. Im so happy you ignored the vet and gave her a chance.
Yeah, i hate how heartless some vets become because of this problem or something like, it..
@@Tuxytheburritoanimationsan2002 I agree, some vets are very quick to go down the euthanasia route. Often its because they charge so much for treatment.
@@Tuxytheburritoanimationsan2002honestly i don’t think it was out of malice, a lot of people just aren’t willing to put in the work to rehabilitate pets, and she would have a terrible quality of life if she were still completely paralyzed.

Very impressive ❤❤❤❤
You never gave up, and your love and compassion are amazing.
Thank you for not giving up on her and showing her all the love.
This is why you never give up on living beings just because they are damaged. Every life has worth.
she didn’t look like she was in pain if she had been severely suffering it would have been different. in the end she completely recovered against the odds.
So you want animals to be living in pain instead of resting peacefully forever?
@@okameow5693Damaged and in pain are not the same. There IS a right time to give up with every animal, even humans. That said, this very obviously wasn’t one of those instances. She had so much fight in her, you could tell just by looking at her. And she wasn’t severely hurting, because she didn’t cry out when moved. She just needed a little love and patience
She is amazing, and so are the people who didn’t give up on her🥰🥰

She's so sweet. Thank you for giving her a chance.
This woman is my hero!
One of our farm cats got hit by a car, lost all feeling in one hind leg.
Vet said it was a lost cause but wouldn't need to be amputated so we took her home.
I made a little sock for her so her foot wouldn't drag over the ground and she was slowly starting to settle in.
Then she hissed at me when I tried to put her sock back on after washing it.
She's back on all fours making the barn unsafe like nothing ever happened.
how long did it take for her to heal?
@@maruftim it took about two weeks to regain feeling, another week to start moving the leg along with each step (but not putting weight on it) and about three more to get well enough to start sitting at the front door demanding to be let outside.
In total about two months till she could go back to the barn. It took a while longer after that to get to full jumping power again, I don't know how long exactly, but she could walk and run and would not stand for being an indoor cat any longer.
That is great but she must have used up a life or two from her 9 lives!😊
@@user-tj8hv7vr9i she's far from the first to do that.
For the first few years after me and my mom moved onto the farm the cats there were straight up suicidal sometimes.
It's gotten better since we started neutering every cat we could get our hands on. All the crazys can no longer have equally crazy kittens.
"every day you could see the strength she was building up"
But the strength was always there.
The physical manifestation of her inner strength then? ❤
Right, and as he each day went on that strength grew stronger. Wym?
strength was always there? How do you know? Do you see the cat's muscles?
@Dolsey1 they meant the cats will was strong.. inner strength and all that
@@chirpydragonfruit9464Which is irrelevant cause that inner strength would do nothing to allowing to survive without the lady’s help.
Amazing resilience. Proud of that cat!
What a beautiful cat! You can tell she appreciates everything you’re doing.
😭😭 So happy you didn't put her down. She clearly was doing her best to show her appreciation during her recovery!!
I would have followed the vets advice, and I would have been wrong. Thankyou for not giving up her. The world needs more people like you. 🥰
The vet probably assumed that the spinal cord was severed, and thought; who was going to pay the $100's for Exrays just to confirm that with the same advice. BUT, I had a cat was hit by a car and dragging her back end: same advice. Turned out it was a nerve hit & inflammation and over some weeks it settled and she walked again.
Idk sometimes these stories could be overdramatizing the story for emotional engagement
@@linmonash1244 been there with my cat. Pretty sure it was nerve damage too.. but it wasn't anything broken or out of joint.. I was lucky to even find that out because I couldn't afford the $100s for Xrays and such. Thankfully a local rescue helped pay for them when I called and told them that I didn't want to give her up but she needed help so if giving her up, to them, got her help, I had not other choice.
Not many ppl are able to save an animal like this so I think depending on who's hands she ended up in the best choice could've been different

You guys are Angels. Your faith & hope gave her the courage to recover. ❤
Your faith and willingness to try
Gave her the will to try ,and of
Coarse Your love was the most important part I'll bet your vet was really shocked❤❤
What a wonderful story! When vets suggest putting an animal down instead of treatment, it’s often because they assume most people do not want to spend the time and money on helping the animal get better. As the vet themselves can’t do much. It would have to be months of at home intensive care like what this woman did. The vet isn’t trying to be cruel, just trying to prevent future suffering for the animal. I’m so glad to see more stories like this becoming visible so people see that they can put in the work to try to help their friend recover. Because it is entirely up to the owners. No vet can do the hourly work they’d need to be healthy and happy.
When I found a sickly kitten outside one morning after Easter, I took him in and took him to the vet. I found out from a fluid sample test they took from his chest that he actually had “wet” FIP, and the vet informed me that it was most likely fatal. They said that if he starts to have severe troubles breathing to where he stops eating or playing I should put him down so he wouldn’t suffer. I prepared for the worst but I did my best to assist him with playing and eating and breathing. I gave him the same type of massages and breathing treatments that I used to do with my younger sister who has severe asthma. It actually helped! And he started coughing less and less until eventually, the wetness went away. It’s been almost a decade since then. You can tell he still has neurological issues from the “dry” form of FIP, as he sometimes struggles with grooming his back and has trouble coordinating when jumping and playing. But he still plays and eats and runs and cuddles like a cat that loves it’s life. So he will be my cat and my friend until his condition takes him. I will be there to make sure he can fight for as long as he wants to.
Thank you, she's beautiful. The resilience of animals.
That’s so sweet!! So glad you helped her out!! ❤
I didnt give up on a cat i rescued from a dog, it cant move half of it body. What i did is feed it and tried to clean her a bit then later on upon letting it regain its strength, i gave it mild massages and that kept on for a week then i didnt realize that time that it can already run around. I woke up one morning and saw her running happily. I was crying out of joy that time and she is my sweetest furr baby. She loves sleeping near me even if i snore a lot when i sleep
