Found this when I was researching doom metal. I am 70. I'm pretty much left alone to my music. Bring it!!!!!
💎
You're never too old for cool stuff. :)
👍🏻
I need a good set of headphones wanna rattle my brain, any suggestions for a metal head/bass head?
@@satanspitbull_5860 I use Audiotechnika ATH-M50x at home and some random Xiaomi TWS on-the-go.
Sometimes a riff is just so fuckin good you wanna hear it over and over again. Sometimes for 13 minutes ya know?
SLEEP be like > 13 minutes you say? Hold my bong and watch this.
Reference from the documentary Such Hawk Such Hounds
Bongripper - Her Highness
Stoned Jesus - Black Woods
It is a great riff though!
I started to knead my bread to this song and it comes out perfect every time. Perfect groove and time length for beautiful smooth dough. 10/10 will knead again.
Highly underrated comment lol
made me giggle uncontrollably
😂
There are some pretty great comments on here, but this is the best one.
Really does that work better than just balling it up in a knot real quick and rolling it out into tortillas
that guitar tone could bring down a government.
That would be nice
they need to play outside the white house
@ihateoregonians they can make a tour out of it
@ihateoregonians hahaha yes. Also not all Oregonians are lames man. Just Portlanders. I rep my state. Gypsy Joker hangaround. Suspect your local Joker.
Anti Semitic.
I don't always listen to Monolord, but when I do, so do the neighbors.
Eww Ohio
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤟
@@wosop6667 is Ohio disgusting place?
Yeahhhh, me too.
I thought I would get tired of listening to the same riff over and over for 13 minutes. I guess not. Once you get locked into its groove, it's kind of hypnotizing, meditative, and relaxing.
Except it does change a little it to keep it fresh. Genius in nuance!
This song has what a lot of modern rock is lacking... is human 'error'. I should clarify, this is definitely not quantized. It feels more natural and organic. Today's recording practices often include mapping each track to a constant tempo, perfectly. Making it a bit more sanitized and processed.
Tinnitus rising
Can we just take a moment for the led zepplin amp cover, the blue oyster cult shirt and the Darth Vader bobble head. All that's missing is a black Sabbath poster. Awesome band
and a Dungeon Masters guide...
Maybe a bong rip or two.
@@eagleone5456 two
yeah..I'm gonna go ahead and name my firstborn son Monolord
I like ya
Douglas Monolord Cartwiright III
Mongoloid
lmfao
Not a bad name for a second born either, lol.
I don't understand how this could exist for 9 years and I just heard it for the first time?
How can you ever get tired of this song?
You can't. Ever.
you cant....
Fuck. Yes. This is the kind of Doom ive been looking for for so long now
+Ben Afallouss Check out Windhand if you haven't already.
+disgraceland uk just saw monolord and windhand live tonight. im just not a big fan of female metal singers.. monolord and danava were great though
+theherbpuffer Fair enough. Male-fronted Doom bands are just a dime a dozen, I guess. Monolord are good and all, but nothing that stands out, for me Dorthia's vocals not only help Windhand stand out from the crowd but her songwriting chops are well above average. Each to their own, though.
+disgraceland uk those guitarists for windhand are great. loudest set iv heard i think
+theherbpuffer That honour goes to Ufomammut for me, I think. Saw them a couple of weeks ago, ears still ringing. ;)
Second best bass tone I’ve ever heard. Only behind the mighty Electric Wizard! Fucking heavy badass shit!
Oh know, right? This bangs like Funeralopolis
I'm pretty sure this song is required to open the gates to Mordor
When i saw them, they opened for Black Label Society.
they will open today for KADAVAR
@@fredobulsara295 A shout out to BLS
"The hobbit was dear to thee I see"
I’m from Mordor. It’s a jingle for morning news here.
Lyrics:
Wisp of smoke, lifeless tomb
Ritual has yet begun
Awakes from haunted sleep
Eons burned the abyssinian sun
Empress rising rumors toll
Spirit weed invigorates bones
Whispered voice through halls of gloom
Where none that lives can walk alone
Severed hand, dust and stone
Blinded eyes have seen to eternity
Skull of wicked crone
Mind is bludgeoned to insanity
Nocturnal infant's gaze
Circles twine to what will come
Sacrificial dreams
Waking curse of the nameless one
Empress rising
YOU COME FROM AN EVIL PLACE
Brutal
this lyric reminds me of that demon from diablo 2 to andiel as in the game she made the underground her dwelling and her place to cast her spells and corrupt the outside world but in the case of music he speaks in a way as if he were invoking this evil thing shaped like a woman
Cult too the quick
Almost a lullaby
Doomiest, sludgiest thing I've heard in quite some time. Gave me goosebumps.
Bloody_9ine no that's passion
TheOneofakind86 It's as sahame you can't teach that
Go check out the album Estron by Slomatics.
@@digi7al3891 nice choice 😈 just bought on discogs
you've never listened to meth drinker
just saw them live a few hours ago. the tone is even better live. its ridiculous
This goes so well with the lsd im on right now. I love everyone.
I highly recommend listening to this with a substantial sound system.
It's. just. epic.
I’ve been searching for something so fucking heavy it would make even my cold dead heart could feel something. God dammit this fit the bill.
Same here. Seeking inspiration from a long road of life. I dig it.
I show you guys to my metalhead friends when they think they know what heavy music is.
If you think fuzz pedals and bass that drowns out everything else is heavy then I'm sure they know heavy better than you.
@Ruptured Heart Theory 😂😂
Tbh all this metal music sounds legit to me... except power metal... you can keep that
You guys are hilarious. I'm gonna go and get my bong
Nazgul Linux all hail the bass
My Texas band opened up for these guys in San Antonio in fall of 2016 and they changed everything for me. They sound as loud and heavy Live as the album and deliver on every level. Great bunch of dudes with an incredible sound! Can't wait to see what's next.
Fallen film What is the name of your band by chance?
@Dale Griffim I just looked up the lineup it was Sweatlodge. I've seen them before. They're a Kyuss rip-off, stoner rock by the numbers band.
@Ruptured Heart Theory Oh My I H8 Gawd! CLUTCH my pearls won't you! I feel like Austin had or has a litany of other bands that didnt follow a formula like Dixie Witch or Mala Suerte! SL follows a tried and true formula I've seen all too often! BTW I've actually seen Kyuss live so I know the genuine article! I never said Kyuss were stoner rock even though they don't like the desert rock moniker either! I was using a generic point of reference. If you like SL fine but if I don't like them does that make me wrong? Peace bruh...
@Ruptured Heart Theory Not at all. Actually RHT is my favorite song from them! And in all honesty I prefer the Louisana Heavy Boogie to Kyuss and the like. Suplecs is an awesome NOLA band, if you haven't heard them checkout their 1st two albums.
their performance in the Valley of Freaks 2019 is simply killer!! how much raw energy and somber atmosphere in a performance the people who were watching were completely brainwashing! that afternoon turned into an unholy aura
it's like syrup oozing through my speakers!
or hash oil
More like the cones are rumbling so hard the sirup is pressure-washing your face! :-D
These guys are legit... been awhile since I heard / felt this.... reminds me of the first time I heard Ufomammut, Pelican, Electric Wizard. good shit.
I agree. I thought Electric Wizard was the heaviest band ever until I heard these guys. Musically weird, production is just fantastic, and overall loud.
ufomammut is my fav band maybe, so good.
Can't wait to see these guys tomorrow at a small venue 🤘🏻
Andrew, there's a great band called Black Sabbath..should check 'em out!
@@davidames1746 Black Sabbath were pioneers of this metal sub-genre being played in the video...
Also can we talk about the little Darth Vader Bobble Head behind the bassist.
HyperZ's CNC & Gaming no we can't
why, yes. yes, we can!
trick question. Mika Hakki IS Dart Vader.
Thomas Jäger (Guitarist/Vocalist) also sometimes rocks a six-string that's missing the pickup that's closest to the fret-board; and it has a LEGO Yoda Minifig in the empty hole.
He controls them
Like sharing a bowl with a Hasheeshian demon on a carpet flying through the cosmos towards the Riff heavens . If you write a Riff this ridiculously brilliant why the fuck bother writing another ? HAIL MONOLORD .
The walls of my house are shaking because i'm listening this through my old PEAVEY Bass Amp ...lol.
Turn it to MAXIMUM Volume! Lol thoughts make miss my 2K Peavey Power Amp, oh well...
Hahaha nice. I wanna hook up my greenback cabinet into my computer to blast doom metal and death metal lol
The riff is fucking incredible
How TF am I only now hearing this?! Better late than never I guess. Always a good thing when one finds fresh weight to add to the pallet. #newfan #longlivetheriff
Cisneros-esque bone-crushing, thundering bass. Its gargantuan, heavy and swampy, the vocals are great, these guys are amazing!
This one was dope af. respect from your neighbour, Finland. love ya'll!!!
Love when that bass comes in. Just rumbling awesomeness!
Just heard this song in one of Way of the World's videos - love it!
@Nilly Sigger same
That's why I'm here, too!
Ha ha, left his vid and came straight here instead. Heavy as fuck much like Orange Goblin the Big Black.
Same here....what a track. Reminds me of Sleep
Same here... for you guitarists like me, at the end, it shows he was using the Boss Hyper-Fuzz pedal.
Finally! Somebody understands the Black Sabbath heaviness!
Love the sound, especially the bass. The mix is clear, yet heavy as can be. O))))SO))))M!!
this riff tears worlds
Stunningly crushing rhythmic hypnotic riffs....haunting vocals....crashing drumbeats....fabulous....!!!
the drummer is tight; on timing, rhythm, misdirection, and drums
an easy thoughtful drum line but played with such a dark feeling so heavy it drives the music along with the guitar in such a swampy way so sticky that's what makes doom metal so mesmerizing
Glory to the empress, may she live forever!
An old man stands on a wind and rain lashed dock, looking out into the stormy sea.
The smart people had already done what the tv told em to and evacuated.
The man didn’t run. He knew it wouldn’t matter.
Out in the ocean raged the worst storm he’d ever seen.
A wall of grey and black thundered offshore, about 50 miles out now.
The old man had always thought his father had gone mad.
His words came back to him now
“Remember my son, the empress sleeps in her hall at the bottom of the sea,
giver of life and the destroyer, the Empress"
Wotw brought me here, great sound my friends 😂🇦🇺👍
A customer at the sub sandwich shop I work at in Kansas City had a shirt of theirs on. We talked about metal for a while and now I see why they were so hype. Monolord f'ing rules!
Aeyyyuhhh… those noises are so cr any.. greetings from HELLTOWN!!!
Holy Fuzz! Monolord! Crushing riffs, monolithic atmospheres and psyched-out musicianship throughout the whole album. For fans of Sleep, Electric Wizard and the likes.
The video is clearly an hommage to Sleep's Dragonaut
jexnjexn and the riff sounds like state of non return by om
This band is clearly an hommage to Sleep
The vocals struck me as something Sleep would do too (IIRC Dragonaut has some phased vocals). But the entire production feels original rather than derivative.
+LordApocalyptica As soon as the vocals started, I thought "Sleep"
Yep nothing new but very well done
Where most songs end, this one is just getting started
I think this might be my new favorite song.
Seen them in 2018 opening for black label society, back then I'had never tried weed and their music seemed strange to me, too trippy. Now while listening to them I fking touch the sky
fuzzy, heavy, droney, meaty, TASTY!
Desertfest Berlin 2023. What an amazing show. I can hear you so well.
after this so important comment is gone i will repost it as my memory goes:
"sometimes a riff is so good you want to hear it 10 minutes straight"
I was just looking for this. Where the hell did it go?
@@GeoffNelson i can see it again now lol
Love the mix. Just as bassy as dubstep, but way more soulful and kickass. Doesn't sound quantized, which feels natural. And monstrous riffing and tone.
holy SHIT. the best fuzz-tastic riffs to grace my eardrums in awhile :o
Dale Griffim yeah.. 'cause all women who likes it probably seems men
Recently Saw Monolord at the Grog shop with Frayle and Firebreather, Absolutely blown away!
This one is a juggernaut.
Holy christ! Album.Bought.
If you dig Monolord check out WINDHAND.
Screw Yob.
And Moon Misstress
Jeff Richards how can you not like yob???
Dunno...I gave them a shot and just don't dig what they have going on. I have a couple of friends who love them. I don't.
Jeff Richards understandable. I didn't really like them at first until I went back and listened to their early shit where they actually sing and stuff
Can I just go to sleep forever with this song in my head?
Lord all mighty that bass is on my head permanently
Why am I just hearing these guys now?! This may very well be the heaviest shit I have ever heard🤘
I'm here just thinking the same.
Holy crap...that riff is chunky, dirty, and sludgy like my ex-girlfriend.
how dare you leave her
@@cicikush0669 She left me. *Sigh
@@dale8809 sry to hear, dude :( there are lots of other slick riffs out there keep your ears open :D
@@cicikush0669 haha...thanks. I was just kidding around but good to know there's nice people out there. I make comments sometimes while on Ambien so it can get weird.
and heavy as fuck
After seeing Khemmis live three times this year, I felt driven like livestock back to Doom. This is good stuff, too.
holly shit years without a good headbanging, thanks!
That groove is like walking through 4 feet of Honey & Tar..
stonerdrums this some thiiiiick ass shit hilarious man xD
Walking up stream, waist deep.
Holy shit this sounds like sleep. TH-cam never disappoints
Guitar, bass, drums...it's all you need...
Bass sounds so insanely huge, came to the video to see what he was playing, and that Fender wasnt what i expected. Insanely sick tones
just amazing,i've been listenng since the first album came out, their sound is just amazing & the fact they record mix & master it themselves is even more impressive, one of the best guitar tones i've heard in a long time, what is it with these swedish bands, there must be something in the water, they're always coming up with something that makes you think, how the hell did they do it ? just brilliant.
Def buying an album. Reminds me so much of Sleep and Om
So so sssooooo ....sick .luv it .....
Been listening to this for 10 years. Still don't know the lyrics. 💪
I've only just discovered these guys , I fuckn love there music
I would love to see a Monolord, Conan and Horn of the Rhino gig, shit would be heavy as fuck.
Hypnotizing!... Monolord has the essence of Black Sabbath. Very relaxing and feel good!
Oh and love the destortion 🖤
God the guitar and bass in the main riff sound so fucking disgusting together, I love it.
Blue Oister t-shirt. Thats fucking heavy :)
i feel like driveing off on my pet dragon n smokeing some hash with a troll
When the drums and bass kick in at 1:41!!! 🤟🤘
the riff sticks in your ear, the sound is heavy and dirty, the video is like a mystery pov rock n roll shot and the whole thing is just brilliant...all in all one of my all time favourite songs!
Holy shit so glad I found this!
It came on autoplay at my flatmates 21st in the weekend whilst the drugs and alcohol were in full affect haha
That riff was sounding huge as hell!!!!!!
Monstrous. Simply monstrous
Dank as PHUC!!
I'm slow headbanging.
Every time I watch this, it never gets old🤘🤘
I first heard this on acid and now it makes me want some acid.
This reminds me of Sleep, Electric Wizard and the almighty Sabbath.
cool band 1 of the biggest suprises i discovered this year
Wish these guys would tour the US. Doom is alive and well here! Pull up!!
I can't stop listening to this..
It makes my brain happy
This is a BAND i'd like to SEE.......POW!!
still amazing tone. wow i love it. they will be in ohio this march 2022. cant wait to listen in person not cd's ;0
I just saw them in Boston (3/15). Your face will melt and you will be crushed by fuzz and doom. The setlist is awesome, you'll love it! Have fun!
@@Ormagoden94 Two tracks out of eleven or so, sorry you had such a horrible experience.
the song that makes weed smoke pour out your stereo speakers
So I'm way late to the game. But I just discovered this heaviness on Tic Tok of all places.
this is so heavy. I love it.

This is great!
This song woken something in me out my fog ridden head. Amazing
