Had the weirdest day ever. I live in aus and its so fucking hot here right now and anyway i come home and chuck this album on and outside literally erupts into a thundering lighting show and rain pours down. It hasn't rained here in months. The power of monolord awakened the rain god.

@@danmoth5126 maybe the reason is that the "E" you call it, is actually B, as many sludge/doom bands doing now. I also suggest you another fan of Rics and that is my favourite bass player Parker Chandler from Cough or Windhand. He is also into mojo of Ric. Hell it is my dream 4 string bass. Kinda happy I switched to 5 recently, as I saved heavy bunch of cash while still having a beast with nice and probably most comfortable neck in a bass I have played.

That's just doom metal in general TBH. My mental happy place has walls of 100 foot tall speakers literally blowing me away with Funeralopolis. Loud doom is best doom.

I can't thumbs down and disagree, because its pretty fucking heavy. We all have our own likings. My personal fave is Vaenir, but yes sir... this album is nothing short of phenomenal.

It took me a while to get onto these guy’s wavelength, but now it’s clicked. Good stuff.
Love the guitarwork and instrumentation but the vocals leave something to be desired honestly. They feel very thin compared to the rest of the production. Granted the vocals are generally in the background for a lot of doom releases.
Definitely dig the music still though. Also Monolord is just a dope name.

I lived in Maryland and I went to high school with some guys that formed Guns out at Sundown, Grendel's Arm, and I think the only active band is Cavern. Still touring and what not, but it was awesome to go to those shows and hang out with my friends from school and the band after the shows.

What pedal do you guys use on the bass / guitar?
A Boss hyper fuzz. You can get that exact tone with a Behringer superfuzz pedal which is vey low price.
Is it me or does this recording sound like Tom used HM2 not a Hyper Fuzz ...Here the fuzz in the bass ..Love the raw feel of this album excellent job recording off the floor ..

Band has potential. But you could interchange just about any song from any of the 3 albums I sampled and wouldn't know the difference. Why are the vox mixed into the background and loaded with FX? Only feasible answer is a bad vocalist. Guys: get a good singer. Experiment with different Producers. Write a few shorter songs? But keep on DOOMING. Your sound is HUGE!!!

Yeah so they hijacked the riff from in the light by led zeppelin and turned the gain all the way up.....so amazing.....you kids ought to learn that its all been done before.

led zeppelin is easily the band that most plagiarized not only ideas but tracks from other artists in the music scene, being liable for a small fraction of cases. you kid should at least learn to listen to more than two bands.

So, who are the 19 tasteless ass hats that thumb downed this? Monolord has the heaviest studio shit i have heard in ages. They are tight, a wall of tightly woven, kick your balls' balls heavy riffs on top of heavy riffs, that do nothing short of make the hairs on my arms stand up when I hear it. And if you like the albums, just wait until you hear them live. Go see them, buy the merch, buy them a beer, tell them how appreciative we all are for gracing this FFDP/Creed flooded world of ours with some music that doesn't make me wish I was deaf. I would hate to see a band like this disappear because of finances or other bullshit that comes with the business like so many in the past have.
