Anyone asking how much does it costs to live in Thailand is just simply asking an impossible question to answer . I'd say, go and stay for a couple of months and see for yourself.
It seems that Isan is much cheaper than greater Bangkok like Rangsit. I pay 8,500 baht for a room across from the university including electricity. The electricity bill alone for that small room average 2,500 baht per month. Transportation to Central World by taxi and BTS is 250 baht each way. Food is 60 baht per one small plate from the local street stalls. I need to eat two plates in order to be full as a small Asian woman. So, it is very difficult to live comfortably in outskirts Bangkok on 18,000 baht per baht.
That’s right Kim. According to many veterans who live in Korat. Korat is 30% cheaper in general when it comes to meal, rent and other things compared to Bangkok, and Pattaya.
Very good and well explained video. Which area of Bangkok was this market? Do you mind sharing name apartment? Is there a deposit upon moving in which needs be calculated in cost?
Hello, this was recorded in the Nakhon Ratchasima city, which is the 3rd biggest city in Thailand. Sorry, this is not Bangkok. If you are interested about renting apartment in Korat you can email me at samtravelsamtravel@gmail.com or send message at instagram at travelingsam2023
As you say its not for everybody and all the fixed Expat costs as visa, healtcare are missing. Second why would you want to live like this ? Better to stay in Europe.
It’s complicated. If you see I already said monthly living costs only. And it’s complicated because if you live here long enough in small cities, you can actually manage to live like locals.
@@annandsaminthailand of course you are right but i Wish my retirement to be somewhat enjoyable and seek a better Standard of living then in Germany. Keep going
great video! For any expat from the west, comfort level IS the biggest factor in my opinion. Price is relative to that end. Most Thais seem immune to loud noises from 9PM to 5AM, like bass pumping bar music, dogs barking and street traffic. Finding a peaceful, quiet place anywhere near a township/city/waterfront is a challenge.
That's right, it can be noisy sometimes. I see most of the villa projects are coming up in less crowded areas over here. Good idea to rent them for peaceful living.

It’s good to have plenty of money to spend over here. You can retire and have a way too comfortable lifestyle. It would be good.
