ケーブルカーでお参りしよう!!ぶらり旅 第456回「香川県:八栗寺」-アクセス,駐車場,四国八十八ヶ所,第85番札所-Yakuriji Temple

ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2022年8月に香川県高松市にある「八栗寺」に行きました。
・八栗寺
八栗寺は天長6年（829）弘法大師空海により開創されました。真言宗大覚寺派です。
五剣山（標高375ｍ）の中腹に位置します。
四国85番札所であり、霊験あらたかなお聖天さまを祀ることでも有名です。
寺伝によれば、大師修行のおり天から降った五本の剣を山に埋めて鎮護としたことから「五剣山」と名づけられました。
また大師が入唐求法の成否を占うため植えた八個の焼き栗が、帰朝後すべて生長繁茂していたことから「八国寺」から「八栗寺」へ改名しました。
・八栗ケーブル
八栗ケーブルは元来、五剣山(標高 366m)中腹にあります四国霊場第八十五番札所である八栗寺への参拝客輸送を目的に作られました。
八栗寺はケーブル山上駅より徒歩約 4 分です。
また山上や車窓からは、屋島を一望できます。

I would like to introduce some places I went to on a whim.
In August 2022, I went to "Yakuriji Temple" in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture.
・Yakuriji Temple
Yakuriji Temple was founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai in the 6th year of Tencho (829). It belongs to the Daikakuji branch of the Shingon sect.
It is located on the middle slope of Mt. Goken (375m above sea level).
It is the 85th temple in Shikoku and is also famous for enshrining the miraculously powerful Shoden.
According to temple legend, the temple was named "Mt. Goken" because five swords that fell from the sky during the Daishi's training were buried in the mountain as protection.
In addition, the eight roasted chestnuts that the Daishi planted to predict the success of his journey to China to seek the law were all grown and flourished after his return, so the temple was renamed from "Hakkokuji Temple" to "Yakuriji Temple."
・Yakuri Cable
The Yakuri Cable was originally built to transport pilgrims to Yakuri-ji Temple, the 85th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, located halfway up Mt. Goken (366m above sea level).
Yakuri-ji Temple is about a 4-minute walk from Cable Yamagami Station.
You can also get a panoramic view of Yashima from the top of the mountain and from the train windows.

・Business hours　Every day from 7:30 to 17:15, 1st of every month from 5:00 to 17:15
・Regularly operates every 15 minutes (0, 15, 30, 45 minutes past the hour), and operates whenever there are many customers
・Parking: 400 spaces in front of Yakuri Cable Trailhead Station, large vehicles allowed
・Train (Kotoden) 1.5km from Yakuri Station, 3 minutes by taxi
