I wish I had kids I could blame for misplacing my box cutter and tape measure. 😃Unfortunately, I have only myself to blame when they go missing. Then again, if I build specific boxes for them on my French cleat wall, they might not go missing. I'm just getting into French cleats. I have the wall, and I'm now in the process of building the attachments. I've enjoyed your ideas for French cleat attachments. They've given me some good ideas. Thanks for making these videos! They are greatly appreciated.
French cleats are a total staple of this channel. Also, just a thought from someone who makes videos, I think this style of videos would really benefit (there was a benny pun to make their but I held myself back) from some quiet music in the background. Audio is half the experience, and it all seems abrupt with those bells. The TH-cam library has some really great upbeat background music.
Love all the ideas. Interesting that people mostly use 3/4 inch plywood. Everything that I will hang from a tool perspective will easily be supported by 1/2 inch. Space in my one car garage is dear so every inch saved matters. More tool storage. There is a sense of blockiness and/or over engineering. Slight dados and glue with half and perhaps quarter inch ply is more than enuff. I watched a video about sawhorse building. For fun the guy tested his design at a lumber yard. Two of his horses held almost 8 tons. I see people build workbenches with 4 or 6 2x4s or even 4 4x4s. This will be handy if they need to work on any 5 ton projects. Functional elegance. See Shaker designs for perfection. Light, stromg, portable. They used pine a lot too. Not the strongest wood by any measure. I worked in a laminated beam plant in college. We lammed Douglas Fir boards together for cross pieces on telephone poles. Structurally by weight we were told they were stronger than steel of the same weight. Doug Fir is pretty awesome. Patinas nicely too over time. Okay it’s a garage workshop, functional elegance? Opt in opt out. Will your kids and grandkids use your cleated works? Thanks again for volume and variety of ideas.
@@SABERTOOTHBEAVER TH-cam keeps removing my post. I tried linking to a photo. Pretty much I have a out 30 in a bin and like a dozen still in packaging, not to mention all the ones I have in the house and in each car. Also I've given away probably about 100 to family and friends. Don't work for them anymore so I'm not getting any new ones, but pretty sure I have about 10 lifetimes worth. Mostly Stanley, DeWalt and craftsman tapes, all the new ones like the DeWalt xps, the craftsman pro x or whatever it's called and that new round fatmax. I worked on all of them so I got plenty of samples
It's actually from being in scouts. I was part of the Beaver patrol. Made me realize they are my "spirit animal". Beavers are family oriented, they work hard, are a little round and slow, and love the outdoors. Plus they work with wood and are little engineers. I relate.
He lies, the bird is foul entity from the depths of the void where the light and warmth of the stars has long since died. The Benny is a curse upon existence, bringing agony and death wherever it Ventures. It’s screams are haunting and rend the fabric of minds with it’s evil abilities.

One day, hopefully way in the future, someone will go through our tools and there will be a pile left that will be donated somewhere or given away. Something we traded hard earned dollars for and thought was important enough to buy will end up discarded. I look at my garage sometimes and wonder that. Where will this all be in 50 years and will anyone remember me for it? Maybe I need to engrave Sabertooth Beaver on everything. Just to make the name last, a little longer than I do. But it won't really matter then anyway...
Watch today's episode when it releases later today. Plus I'm making a French cleat garage that is to scale for Benny. So it will be a whole garage on a French cleat
I'd keep the wood and add plastic on top of that piece. The wood makes it a stand that can be set on the workbench when gluing. Maybe that's what you were suggesting though.
Yes, I totally get it. My wife wonders why I have multiples of some tools. It's because I hate wasting time looking for where someone else put something.
dunno if anyone gives a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my brother during the lockdown =)

I still misplace them. I can't always blame my kids. LOL. I wonder how I got multiple tapes and pencils in my pockets a lot of the time.

I love the work bench for the bird, awesome work all through out. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much. It was a blast to build. Working on this years Christmas boobytraps project right now.

You've done a great job with all the ideas and prompts to add my own ideas.
I hope you will share your French cleats on the french cleat subreddit!

Great ideas! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
VERY cool love the french cleat on a french cleat idea!!!! x
Thank you. It can get out of control in a hurry!
Love the cleat on a cleat. Great job!
What number of cleats on cleats is too many? That is the question of the day.
I think doing away with the bell would be a kindness…
This is a really good channel!
I hope you guys will continue to upload more!
We sure will. We have a bunch of things planned with wood and electronics and nerf guns and Benny the parrot!
You think 4 tape measures is a lot? I have about 50 at home.... I used to make them so I have a lot of samples
I want to see a picture of that!

I always get in trouble for multiple tape measures. My rationale- I have a project to do and I'm not good at workshop i spy
I can relate to that. It's amazing how many tools end up in my pockets
Just to help you out as a former marine of 14 years in. it's a magazine not a clip

For your glue holder, you could put a piece of plastic where the glue drips and replace it easier than scraping the wood piece
