I never fail to get a little emotional watching this. This performance to me at least imparts the essence of everything I love about Babymetal. Beautiful, heavenly music that is un-erringly positive. You were in the right neighborhood on the message of the song. This basically is an homage to all the fans and Babymetal together or the "One". Though suspended over this massive crowd these young ladies project a presence of such peace. Great job.
Great reaction. You were half right, but you were reading too much into it .... but you were still right to get emotional. As they toured the world they were very touched that their foreign fans had clearly been learning the Japanese lyrics to their songs to sing along with them. They decided they must do something to show their appreciation and to reciprocate, so they challenged themselves to learn a song completely in English. 'The One' is that song (although this was the half and half English-Japanese version). You were right to think this song was a tribute - it was their tribute to the fans (who they also named The One of course). This is effectively their love letter to 'The One'.❤ The flying triangle / pyramid .... their producer asked them what they would really like to do on stage - they told him they wanted to fly. This was the solution - and it also got them so much closer to so many more people in the crowd (Moa has said she always feels sorry for the people right at the back of the arenas being so far away from the stage - here is one way to bring the stage closer to them, which was also very fitting seeing what the song is about). They said the hardest part about flying above the crowd was not the height, it was carrying on with the choreo when they really wanted to just wave at everybody ... and I think it was Moa who said she tried not to look down too much as she was afraid her tears of happiness would fall on the people below.
"Whenever we are on your side, remember, always on your side" The first time I heard it I cryied and that was the first time it happened to me, even if this isn't even close to be my favorite... the message is strong and makes me feel so happy to be in the foxhole with all of you. 🦊🦊🦊
Nice job👊🏽⚡️One of the first songs I heard from Babymetal and it really hit me in the heart as well. Babymetal is so creative and positive in their approach to music. One of a kind🦊🤘🏾
