BTW you keep referring to the disc as a CD, is it an actual CD? Because the PS4 doesn't have the hardware (red diode) to read CDs, just DVDs and Blu-Rays. I think the disc reader actually works, because the unsupported disc error is what would happen if you were to insert a regular CD. Anyways, gg for the good find! Edit: IMO, keep it as it is, no need to even fix it if it's THAT expensive in your area to do so.
You’re totally right, and in fact the disc drive actually works! I assumed it could read CDs because my PS3 can, and I’m sure the hardware to read them costs nothing…
@@matthewscomputers Yeah I had the same assumption before getting my PS4, that's why if you ask some PS3 diehards they'd jump at the chance at calling the PS4 a downgrade!
hey i didn't notice you've posted more videos since i've last saw ya! like the video a lot, and personally i think you should keep the ps4. it's your first one, and you've brought it back to life yourself.
And oh one last thing, if the disc reader was ACTUALLY broken, you wouldn't be able to update past the firmware previously present on the PS4, which in your case would be 5.01.
