    I drove a 2018 850XRS last year and loved it, this year I’m riding a 2019 900 XRS turbo and absolutely love it. Power is as good as the 850 and slightly faster top end. Handles better in the corners than the 850, because of the extra weight it don’t lift the inside ski as much when you pour on the power coming out of a corner

    • @daneagles5722
      @daneagles5722 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have switched to Arctic Cat ZR 9000, I previously had an MXZ 800 X. I was wondering if the extra weight would in fact help keep that front and down I found the same thing with mine. Glad to hear it. My buddy just bought one I’m anxious to try it , but on the other hand I love my cat ! Super fast !

    I prefer these walk arounds! While the full episode reviews are great, I can only take so many of these canned lines, but at least you give legitimate reviews and don’t just rave about the good stuff. It’s as if you are the only ones willing to complain about poor items or areas of concern. Great videos no matter what, but the candid reviews like these are awesome!

    Good review!! You are 100% correct about the throttle if you can even call it that!! It’s the most awkward feeling throttle on any sled I have drove!! It is the exact same as my wife’s NA 900 ace and neither of us can stand it. I wish there was an option to delete it as it would gone!!! If skidoo is listening they will realize sledders don’t like this setup!

    I hope tucker Hibbert watches this and says yes I am and I wanna clear 70 foot doubles. If you are jumping this sled I'd go with a 2 stroke for sure. Love my 600RS but I may try an XRS renegade with revlaved shocks to stiffen it up

    Good review ! I like the walk arounds, it’s a good assessment of the sled. It’s funny you mention the throttle. I know of a person a few years ago that crashed his snowmobile with exact same throttle ,they never ever said if it was the throttle fault or rider error but he did end up dying! That was up by south river . A guy I know was out riding with him and they weren’t flying , big bump lead to wide open into the trees

    I ordered a 2019 XC 850 this year which I've been really happy with but this XRS is the only other sled out that peaked my interest. I really like a lot of things on this 900 ACE Turbo however the one thing that changed my mind over anything was the price. I find it hard to justify over 16,000 USD for this thing. My XC 850 with Cobra Track, E Start, ROX Riser Kit, Colored Tunnel and Colored Rails & Spindles was under 12,400.

    Wrong about the turbo not available in 129. Skidoo divides their track length by model name. So mxz is 129 and renegade is 137. You can get the turbo in both models.

      One of main reasons I'm looking at a Backountry XRS instead of the Renegade XRS...the 137" track...why not offer the 146" as well? Geometry messed up that much?

    Great video. Question. I have the 5.7's on my 850 and past sleds. Never cared for the tunable ski. Although the comments on makeing the adjustments and ski lift vs turn in... why not just adjust the inside down more and leave the outside alone for certain conditions?
    Also... the track on the machine is a 1.6 Ice Cobra and not Ice Ripper. Love the track on mine and honestly all the studs you need. They just work if you know how to ride it. And I've had anywhere from 96-192 conventional studs on my old sleds. The IC will not hook like 192 studs but the tradeoffs are worth it. My .02 anyway.

    I have a question. Can you explain to me why motorcycles both Street and Offroad have a twist throttle yet every other power sport has a thumb or trigger throttle? Is one genre stubbornly not wanting to succeed to the other or are there legitimate benefits that I am failing to see?

    My only complaint with snowtrax reviews is when they review ski-doos, they always bash the stock shocks. It's funny because they claim the stock shocks on the x package is not enough (which I 100% agree with owning a 850x and upgraded to exits) but then when they review the XRS's with the adjustable shocks, you claim you have to be like Tucker Hibbert in order for them to be usefull....

    my now old 2012 mxz 800 etec showed it's snowflap to one already this year..guy says he wasnt racing but when i passed him i was 162 km per hour and was still pulliing! yup ok buddy whatever you say! lets face it put a turbo on any twostroke vs any same cc 4 stroke and it not even called i race ,,it would be murder

    • @ebsell
      @ebsell 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joe neault hate to tell you but the guy wasn’t lying. If you beat him with an 800 he definitely wasn’t racing lol. I have a 137 Renegade 850 and the 900 Turbo that i also own holds its own against the 850. 800 etec ain’t gonna do it.

  • @PartTimeYooper
    @PartTimeYooper 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I guess I'm trying to figure out why someone would buy this sled over a Sidewinder. You are giving up 55-65 hp in a less reliable engine package, to have a better handling rear end, but an equal at best front suspension?
    I guess I don't see why you'd pay the extra insurance for a turbo sled when you can get more hp from an 850 or just give up a little hp for a non-turbo sled. That extra $400-700 a year in insurance for the privilege of a boosted sled starts losing its appeal pretty quickly.
    And not to mention you can find some sweet deals on Sidewinders at your local dealers if you really want to go the boosted route.

    • @ebsell
      @ebsell 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sean Nelson it handles and rides much better than the Sidewinder. Plus they dyno at 164 hp so it’s 40hp less than the Sidewinder.

      Those stickers bug me too every time I see them dirtying up the hood.
      Yeah prices are in stupid territory...then they nickle & dime you for ice scrapers, matching color hand guards, storage on the back and even the cable for rear seat power ..on an XRS you would think those little items would be standard...Polaris looking good even though I want a Doo.

      It's all about preference buddy. Snowmobiling is so much more then just riding mountains all the time. Trail riding is what I grew up doing and personally I'd say it's nice to just rip trails and travel to different places. Plus if you need a "mountain sled" to ride anywhere in deep powder that's pretty pathetic. Any sled can go in deep powder it's all about experience whether you can get thru it or not. ;)
