    good morning sir, a few weeks ago I was working on the validation of equipment and had the need to measure current (40-50amps) at a frequency of 45KHz, to do so rent a current tester from pearsonelectronics. did the work. But this Micsig is exactly what I needed at the time. I should buy this one, thanks for the info

      Thanks Hector for the great feedback - very interesting. This probe would have been fantastic for that - and remember to use my link if you can;)

    " They asked me which probe and I told them the most expensive one". Haha 😂🤣😂. Ive been laughing a good 10 min lol. If anyone deserves some sweet bits of gear it's you. Good on Micsig for reaching out to you like that. They recognize your worth bro. Micsig makes some nice quality stuff. I was looking at their handheld oscilloscopes and differential probes a year or 2 back. That current probe they sent you is super sexy! After watching your review now I want one 😭. Great review and vid bro. Now I'm going to do some catching up on some of the ones I've missed . I see you've been busy haha

      Great to hear from you abusiveben;) I am happy to get free - and even more happy when it is really cool! Micsig is really looking impressive. I want to get a scope if I can...and they have some other cool probes for auto work too.

    Thanks for the great review! Is there anything that needs calibrated with the scope to use these current probes? I am only asking as all my 10X voltage probes need calibrated or they appear to give exaggerated edges (either overshoot or rounded off and slowed slew rate).
    Thanks!

    Great review. It's difficult to find a clamp meter that even goes out to 20 kHz so I will definitely pick one of these up, but since it looks like they are being significantly discounted, I'll need to find who's selling the B version for the best price...

    From my personal opinion, for a newcomer (since 2016) like Micsig, they are creating decent measurement tools at fair prices.
    If you look at the prices of there differential probes, they have almost the lowest prices you can find for a differential probe.
    Another newcomer (since 2019) is Mitstronic -> Mitstronic.com , at the moment they have only a differential probe (arround GBP 100 and free shipping worldwide) ,
    but i expect they will expanding there productrange in the future.

    Very interesting. What happens in case of overcurrent? E.g. 150A by surprise.

    • @KissAnalog
      @KissAnalog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! So, if a current much higher than the current probe can read occurred - then the probe would max out or saturate so the reading would be inaccurate. But, it would not hurt or damage the probe.

    Looks like a decent current probe!
    I bought one of the Hantek CC-65 and it's great for medium current or educational purpose, only downside is the drifting DC offset. If I need accuracy at DC - 400Hz and low currents I enjoy to use my HP 428B.

    www.conrad.com/p/staublisw-xf-ss4test-lead-adapterbnc-socket-banana-jack-4-mmscoop-proofblack-red-121028
    The inner conductor is directly pushed through and only the screen is extended. Also the inner conductor banana plug is gold plated. As I'm aware they build the same adaptor for Fluke, but Fluke demands 70€ for it istead of 12€.

      @@KissAnalog I bought it off eBay used ( not working ) for $600. Seller said was near New but the screen wasn't working .Was a simple repair . I only briefly tested it's scope functions ( I spent most my time testing the dmm functions that day bc I working on solar and calibrating my panels meters ) it's a very fast very snappy device . It's a big bulky heavy instrument and feels like a brick in your hand , it's much much heavier than my keysight and my handtek both of which feel kinda like toys in the hand lol. The hantek by the way I got for only 112 bucks . Similar problem ( screen ) the repair was so simple I got mad ...the ribbon cable had developed and intermittent short inside of it from being bent over the sharp edge corner of the PCB. Ordered new ribbon cable and fixed lol .

    Remarkably, my CP2100A (bought on Banggood for $219) just tested at least as good or better than the CP2100B model shown in this video (using the exact same test procedure). Actually, the 3dB roll off (0.707 x mA reading) for my CP2100A was found out beyond 3MHz. Has anyone else with the A model tested the 3dB band width limit and found it better than expected?

    I do really like your way to review things! Although your opinion is very important, I like the fact that you do also measure the gear. It's not your preconception of a brand or a prize that do sway your opinion, it's all about facts and your expertise that decide if a product gets an okay sign.

    I have found this probe in 150 bucks, on aliexpress. I am not sure if it is the original one, or it could be an imitation or refurbished product. I think a big fall from 400 to 150 in less than 4 months is quite suspicious.

    • @KissAnalog
      @KissAnalog  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have seen it for sale for less when I did the video, and if I didn't mention it I should have maybe, but I was worried that the price might not be available. What I can say is that is a manufactures suggested price and in China they can't control the pricing. I'd not be surprised to see it for half price, but for less than that - it does seem suspicious. Then again, it is a probe that should only cost 100 bucks at the most;) I see it at near that today. I'm tempted to buy one at that price just to pass on what I find on a video;) Thank you for pointing this out!
