I've been surfing for about 4 months now , just getting a hang of riding down the line and then all of a sudden its barrel season and i'm getting absolutely mauled in the ocean. This video is exactly what i needed. Thanks so much
Thank YOU SOOOO MUCH for this podcast! I've watched it 4-5 times and today it all clicked... I tip my hat to you Surf Simply! If I ever make it to Costa Rica it will be to visit your camp!
ok in the beginning I saw the board and the markers and thought ok probably I won't get much out of this video BUT SERIOUSLY THUMBS UP! This is great, your explanations are great, it makes so much sense now and I have watched most of them. Seriously impressed. Good job! tomorrow the forecast is picking up here in Greece so I will try to put everything to the test! THanks so much!
Hi Lanie, from what I have been told it takes time to identify waves properly but you might be able to see one side gradually becoming larger than the other. That way you might be able to tell if it's a righty or a lefty. I'm still workin on that issue myself. Hope that helps a little.
Sanjay Chaudhary Angled take off is one answer. If the wave is smaller than the length of your board you need to angle in order not to pearl. Sometimes you can be too far forward but that usually isn´t the problem. Also make sure your chest is high.
Pick a better wave, or just practice dropping in, or enjoy getting thrashed. Good training. Just remember grasshopper, when you wipeout, stay away from your board.

Awesome, this helped me visualise everything I should do and wasn't doing to get the most out of a wave. I'm definately watching the other vids!
This guy is money. Thanks so much for your detailed guidance.

Nice mate, thanks for your time
Excelent video! really simply!
thx! best class ever!
hey guys, what do you mean exactly when you say "pushing board with hand" on final three strokes?
Great video.. thanks so much for this!
Can you guys do a tutorial on how to avoid pearling on steeper waves? Or did you cover this in your other videos?
Any advice would help...
Thanks!

As a surfer you NEVER stop learning ;)
This is Awesome, thankyou~!!!! :D
How to choose best board and how to choose my size board
also excelent to know this happened in Nosara, Costa Rica!
ok soo you paddle for the wave look left look right if the left side is built up hire then turn away from it cause its going to break there first
Tyler Durden sure is the best surf instructor on youtube
How does this apply when the wave doesn't break to the left or right but just evenly across the whole wave in one motion?
In that case the wave is a close out, and you can't go down the line you want to anyway.
Pick a better wave, or just practice dropping in, or enjoy getting thrashed. Good training. Just remember grasshopper, when you wipeout, stay away from your board.
What song is at the start?? Intro
waverude - surfstorm
+bustinjerry Busta Rhymes - Show Me What You Got (J-Dilla Instrumental Version)
Hi
Tell me
When paddling look at where you going then you will go there
If you are learning , you should stay away from a wave like that ! lol
I don't get 1 thing about this... :/ :(
Pitted, totally pitted
Anyway u could use more videos instead of stick figure examples
