  • Deplaning from flight BA 247 and walking from gate 42 to immigration in São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU/SBGR) through the new terminal 3's sterile corridors . This experience is definitely different from arrivals at the outdated terminals 1 and 2 -- and much better! (Deplaning at GRU T2 video is available on this channel)

Do you have a video for leaving terminal 3 to connect to terminal 2? Have you had to do that? What was your experience like?

Yes, I have and it should be coming up soon. Basically, after baggage claim and customs, you return your bags to the airline if you have a domestic connection, then you walk to terminal 2 on the landside. At T2 there is now a central access security checkpoint, instead of the old layout with two accesses. From there, you're good to go! As far as time goes, it can take from 5 to 20 minutes to re-check you luggage, depending how busy it is, and the walk to T2 security checkpoint takes another 8 minutes or so. Keep in mind that if you are connecting to an international flight leaving from T2, you can access the security checkpoint from T3, before clearing immigration, following the signs for international connections. I hope this helps!

CarsTrainsPlanes Thank you for responding. If I have a carry on bag do i still have to check that bag? Also do you have to go through customs and security to get to the walk way that connects teminal 2 and 3? I am nervous as i have never been to this airport. I really appreciate your help.

There is a public corridor connecting T3 & T2 and that's the one I've mentioned that you get access to after leaving baggage claim and customs. When you exit the customs door, if you have only carry-on, bear to the left to find the elevators, go one level up to departures and follow the terminal 2 signs. It should be easy! The only security checkpoint you have to go through is at T2. However, before approaching security, remember to have your boarding pass for your connection ready -- otherwise stop by an airline counter or kiosk to print it out (you'll see those before accessing security)!

How long does it take to go through baggage claim and customs? I have 1 hour and 50 minutes to between my flight landing at terminal 3 and my other flight departing from terminal 2. Will I make it?@@CarsTrainsPlanes
