I love how Ward throws Skye the emergency brochure "this isn't like normal planes" and later we see Skye did actually read it and memorize it because that is how she found the emergency inflatable raft to plug the hole in the plane. That is a big part of the reason that Ward was impressed with her. She didn't take lightly the thing he told her to learn. She put in the work to learn it.

The first several episodes had "too many chefs in the kitchen", and everyone involved on the show admits that. AOS had so many restrictions due to Marvel Studios rules, but these early episodes are so crucial backstory to our team. Without the first 9 episodes, we wouldn't feel the emotional punches later 👍😁

The 0-8-4 wasn’t there for 1500 years. The writing or cave or whatever had been, but they said the 0-8-4 was newer.

The end scene, as they sit on the Bus's loading ramp to watch the rocket launch, gives me all of the feels. I always love seeing the team socialise, without having to worry about any impending drama or trauma. Just a cool box, a couple of beers, and a nice view.

I really liked how Skye talked about the rebels as if they are the good guys, and by the end of the episode we find out she was right, the rebels were the good guys. That shows us that Skye is able to recognize who the good guys are, and who the bad guys are, and she roots for the good guys. Which means we need to question the motivation for her infiltrating SHIELD for the Rising Tide.

Yes, I did make a note about it in the video. I wasn't aware that was a thing this show did when I recorded this action, but I watched them starting with the next episode.

I honestly haven't seen Clark Gregg in much but he does a good job as Coulson I like seeing him be the sudo leader of his own team within Shield and jsut more of his character cause honestly he didn't do much in the movies other than motivating the Avengers to get Loki after he died, The show certainly surprises you the more you get into it. And the rest of the cast pulls there weight jsut as much in acting omg happy your watching it

I don't think I've seen him in anything other than this and the movies, but I've come to love his character. It honestly surprised me how much his death in The Avengers got to me. I was so glad to have him back in this and my appreciation for the character has only grown since starting this show. :)

@@BritanyBinges I think I first saw him in a sitcom with Julia Louis-Dreyfuss called "The New Adventures of Old Christine" where, I believe, he played her ex-husband. I thought he was pretty funny on that also.

You're so good at picking up on positions and stances. Like you instantly understand not just a line or piece from that particular moment, but you consider the larger position of the fuller character. Which at episode one and two is very impressive! Really enjoy your reactions. I appreciate the work and thought you put into them. You're very clever and also funny! 😁

"They need time... But you gave them something better, a common enemy."
This is a callback to Avengers, when Phil Coulson died being the thing that brought the Avengers together as a team. This is the thing that brings Coulson's group together as a team. I think he invited Camilla and her crew onto the plane on deliberately for this purpose. I think Coulson already knew that she was the bad guy. Also, this showed how observant Skye is, that she called out at the beginning that the group wasn't a team yet. Coulson knew it too, and so he took advantage of Camilla's villainy to push them into becoming a team.

Rest assured as the show progresses it will become more serialized. The first few episodes are a little clunky but if you stick with it, the show gets A WHOLE LOT BETTER!

    P. S. I think you're getting to the part in the show where it really explodes into the badass show that we all know and love. I remember being midway through Season 2 and watching live and how incredible it was to see each episode unfold... You are going to have lots of pleasant surprises. It really goes to the next level really soon. 🌼

"The first five episodes are pilots" is old broadcast television philosophy. The belief was that people might tune in to episode four of a heavily serialized show and have no idea what's going on, so networks would demand that the first few episodes (usually five) are introductory and more or less self-contained, explaining the premise and characters to the audience. This doesn't make much sense in a time when you can just stream the episodes online after they air to catch up, but it was considered a good way to grab new viewers for a while. The writers of this show didn't particularly want to do an episodic show, but they had to start that way. It does pass.

Since I know you're almost done with season 2, I just want to say that your comment at 17:54 about Skye being a double agent is funny now knowing that she wasn't the true double agent on the team lol. I mean she kind of is at first, but that's over by episode 5.

I did make a note about it at the start of the review portion (right after the reaction was finished). I wasn't informed in advance that there would be bonus scenes and that's not a common practice in tv shows, so I assumed it was a preview for the next episode and people always get mad when I watch those. 🤷‍♀️
