Flooded chainsaw started with the advice from this guy. Thank you for the video!
So glad it worked for you too
Man you just saved my ass, wasn't sure it was flooded, changed spark plug, air filter, cleaned carb, still wouldn't start, did what you showed , started on about 12th pull, ran no prob.
Thanks brother
Thanks! MS 251 brand new would not start, followed your advice and about 20 pulls she came to life! 👍🏻
Worked exactly as you demonstrated - THANK YOU !
Did it. It worked. Should have come here an hour ago.
Thank you - this work for me
Stihl MS 180
It worked. Thank you brother. It is a brand new saw giving issues. Thanks
Thank you for the information brother life saver
I've been tearing the thing apart and drying the spark plug over and over, but this started it after 25 pulls! Thanks big guy!
Very helpful. Easy to follow. I couldn’t have asked for better!!!
Thanks for your help. Followed your advice, and my saw started right up.
You are a legend. Had been trying for about 45 mins to get mine going, and I probably kept Re-flooding it. Tried this method and it started after 10 pulls 🙏🏽
Awesome. Hope I earned a sub out of you 😃
Just got mine to work because of you!! Thank you!!
Same!!! This worked for me to! I was in a panic
I think I was re-flooding mine too, for even longer LOL
AWESOME and no tools required! Thank you!
Thank you! Fixed my brand new ms250 with this trick.
Great advice! Worked like a charm.
Hey my friend, thanks a lots
Nice! A how to video that’s quick and to the point! How many times I’ve been in the middle of a project and just needed to TH-cam something Real Fast!!
Thanks Josh. That is exactly what I was going for with this one. I hope to make more quick how to’s and some more review videos on this channel.
I had this problem with my Stihl BG55 Blower and his info worked like a charm for cranking it!
Thanks for resolving when many searches provided little help!!
I've learned different things about taking care of and starting my stihl 170 chainsaw over the last few years. this is the simplest solution to having a flooded engine that I've seen. I needed this advice since whatever I knew before didn't turn out to be enough to solve the problem. Thanks for removing once and for all a recurring headache !
Worked like a charm! Thanks for the video.
Thank you worked beautifully!!! best youtube video out there for this!
Worked beautifully! Thanks!
This video just helped me out big time. Thank you!
Found this video from your other one on the MS250. Thank you very much. I do really appreciate it.
Thank you we just had a tornado here in Texas and this helped me a lot
Life saver. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you, brother. Worked like a charm.
Worked immediately - thanks
You're the man! Much thanks!
Thanks, your videos are great! Right to the point and clearly stated.
Thanks. I really appreciate your feedback on them. I was hoping they would come across that way. This channel will be all homeowner/tool stuff. I hope you enjoy it.
@@WalnutSprings Looking forward it, tools are cool. Nothing beats having the right tool for the job and the know how to use it.
It worked! Thanks!!!
You are the man I was about to chuck my MS250 into a woodchipper, tried your trick and it finally started, worse part is its new only used it like 4 times, gas was good, carb cleaned and getting spark but would just flood. Was at my wits end. Thanks for the tip
Get a rebuilt 290 and be set for 20 more years
very useful, helped me start my chainsaw again after being flooded
THANK YOU this literally made my day! Got a new chainsaw and trying to start it for the first time and wouldn't go. Figured it was flooded, and was going to pull the spark plug, but it was in so tight I was afraid I'd break the damn thing. Your method took about 30 pulls but IT WORKED thanks so much man !
Thank you. I have a 6 month old 291 that I only used a few times. I was about to take it in for warranty. I learned that the 291 floods very easily and are crap saws, but this trick works. Thank you.
I wanted a new 291 or 271 but ended up going with a completely rebuilt ms290 and a completely rebuilt ms029. Package for the same price as a new saw.
Much better.
They just don't make them like they used to. Can't just replace parts here and there anymore.
Oh man i just started my flooded stihl. Great!!! Subscribed❤
Great simple explanation! This guy knows what he is talking about! Thanks for the advice!
Got my saw started. Thank you!!
Thanks man, I got it to start up no problem using this method. Hell yeah
Dude !!!!! I've been fucking with my chainsaw for years. Stihl won't tell you how to start it. 60 pulls it started !!! So much better than waiting 1000 million years on the job sight for it to dry out. Thank You !!!!!
Yeah this trick will save you so much time. Happy to help
@WalnutSprings Such good advice !!! It's been since 2005 so yeah, you probably would of saved me 100 hours of frustration if I would of known. Thanks again!!!!
your a champion you saved my ass
It is 6/27/23 I just want to let you know that info was Awesome my saw cranked in 22 pulls you just got a new subscriber ❤
Thanks for this video, it really helped. It was definitely flooded
Thanks for this video! You are a lifesaver!
Worked like a charm, thank you
You just saved me today!!!! Thank you!!!!
Awesome video, thank you for posting!
worked perfectly ! thanks for the video
This is pure genius....
Good video! Those 250's flood so easy! Only way can start mine....both 250's is couple real slow pulls the impulse line will prime em. One fast pull choked. Then drop start FULL throttle. No choke. The Stihl manual advises against drop starts. Guess the damn thing not gonna hurt you if it don't run...Huh!
Thanks man helped me out with the ms 170 lol thanks
Thanks
I worked as you said.
Tested with Holzfforma g255 stihl clone works when flooded, got engine started then switched to top choke setting and saw started fine
100% best way to fix flooding, the MS 881 even keeps the throttle locked wide open in half choke to start easier.
thanks so much, saved me some frustration lol
thanks dude i appreciate it
Yup, I was just about to call and curse out my Stihl dealer and throw this 271 off the mountain.. But then I found this.
Thank you!
I’ll try it tomorrow and let you know period I really hate to get into taking out the spark plug and drying up and all that stuff, especially when I’m not close to the shop
It will work I am sure of it. And I really hope it does because it will make your life so much easier. Good luck and let me know.
Thank you!
Also if you just switched to Aspen fuel… that can cause all sorts of starting issues… went from VP racing 2 cycle fuel to Aspen and my saw will not even attempt start… even if I wait a few days it hasn’t started. It ran fine with original fuel for a tree shut it off and hasn’t started since
What’s the mechanism by which this works? What does holding the throttle do? From a Pleb.
Great advice. That 40 pull exercise made me cancel my gym membership!! Discovered my Stihl shiet saw has a broken throttle control. It isn’t that used a Stihl. It is too clean from all the trips to the shop to fix the throttle control the last time!!!! 311Y is crap.
nice it worked!
What to do when the cylinder of a stihl 172 chainsaw is flooded / won't start? How do you do this on the 172, since its switch is spring-loaded and doesn't lock in the off position?
I know the new Stihl suggests you pull slightly until you feel resistance, and then yank for start. Not quite the "good-bye shoulder" most seem to use. Everytime i fo that it starts on 2 yanks
When I don't, I usually flood it and then use this same setup
good
My stihl does this every damn time.
hey, i got it running and unflooded it, but it dies pretty much instantly and gets flooded again, anyone knows what the problem might be?
Subscribed 4 Life !!
Heck yeah!!
buy an echo- they start easily
Nice!...Thanks
Another trick is to wedge your foot in the trigger and start pulling…
Just give em 10 min to dry out
Id give out before it starts
😳
wont start, throw away, I am enjoying my 20 volt dewalt chainsaw
You probably enjoy carrying a purse too...
@@benchesnut3715😂😂
Your solution worked like a charm! Thank you!
Or... Dont buy Stihl.
It worked. Thanks!!
