I got my Mate 8 just this wednesday. And its the real beast! :'D super satisfied. GOLD is just premium plus with its powerful Kirin 50 , 4gb ram and bought 128 gb version. Its the best! Your money won't go to waste.
Not surprising as the mate 8 came out way later and benefits from a newer soc however the build quality is lacking that v-10 is rock solid and has a superior camera and display.
Marnelle Janse van Rensburg well, the built-on is really excellent, and the device seems to be solid enough. Also, for premium version you get a very beautiful shockproof smart case
The Flagship phones always tend to have a smaller battery size because the companies want the customers who can afford them to but supporting accessories like power banks extra batteries etc.....its a marketing tactic done by all.

you do realize since you just updated everything the process is still downloading. on any phone when your doenload is over any app that isn't optimized will take a little longer to open the first few times. hence play store and the games.. good video otherwise
There's no question that the Mate 8 is the fastest android available right now, but I don't think it will be faster than the new Samsung and LG flagships

It sure won't but Huawei planned to release this between flagship releases as this would be meh compared to g5 and s7 but better than 2015 phones they hope to gain a customer base before those beasts released.

You should have let it settle affter the update a bit, build cache, optimise ART...But LG definitely needs to work on its software a lot harder.

after the update the cache memory was erased on v 10 ......so the device was looking slow !!
LG V10 all the time, no compromise, Hands Down...!!! even beast in multitasking ( to keep apps as they are in memory )

Agreed also the v10 is pushing double the pixels compared to m8 and processor has been taken lot of effort updating..
The update had already finished downloading..
