Yes! Wildest Dreams is hands down one of Taylor’s best live performances. The way she strips back these songs to the bones of melody and lyrics but still makes them so dynamic is masterful.
One hundred % agree! Cornelia Street live in Paris is by by the best acoustic song she has done in my opinion. Her vocals are amazing the effortless switches between falsetto and belt ❤
I like when she is giving the explanation about the writing of it and how she makes the “click” noise of the pen. She plays the recording of Max Martin saying “That’s awesome, it’s so annoying, I love it” 😂
I always enjoy your reactions! This girl has left her mark for years to come! A hard worker I get the critics they looking for clicks and they try so hard to ruin the untouchables, I love that Taylor gets the lyrics together targeting the losers lol Taylor is a humanitarian as well and does a lot of charity work, they never ever mention that! But instead create hate and division , Taylor deserves a long break and to go enjoy her life she earned it!
The Grammy Pro video was a listening session with music industry professionals...producers, engineers, etc…where she highlights the production decisions on her 1989 album. This album was a big deal at the time because she announced it would be her first truly pop album and people were blown away by her stepping so far away from her country roots. I love watching the audio dudes in the audience as she very confidently discusses her songwriting and the work she did alongside the various producers. When people say she is not involved in every aspect of her music I will always point them to this video.
yes, this is tacked on the end of the same video; but the Grammy Pro (for Producer's Wing) presentation is for the audio engineers and professional music producers. The presentation she gives is about 40 odd minutes; 4 songs are tacked on the end (and were posted elsewhere by others as single songs). Taylor has two of them on her own channel; this one, and Wildest Dreams (on that Jaguar!) the other songs are How You Get The Girl (guitar) and Out of the Woods (piano).
Great reaction. I think you'd really enjoy her one hour presentation to the Grammy Producer's wing. She talks about her writing and producing process behind making the 1989 album. (Including Blank Space) She worked with multiple producers on that album and shares those experiences. She gets a nice surprise at the end. We'd love to watch it with you.
Great reaction Izzy, I think the problem with click bait in todays society it that even though most people know it’s click bait there is a huge number of people who believe what they see in the media and this taints their perceptions. This has been a major issue in Taylor’s life which from an early age she grew up in the media circus! I think this is part of the reason why Taylor has so many haters and people write her off! But I feel like those that give her a chance and genuinely look into her discography, and see that’s she’s a real genuine caring person, start to see what an amazing person and artist she is!
For all of those people who try to say that she can’t sing live have not ever heard her sing live. She’s even better live than on studio versions. Anything Taylor wears looks great on her. I love her in her new plaid outfits that started right before the Grammy’s this year. There’s so much footage to watch. Seeing it with fresh eyes is a real treat. Thank you. Merry Christmas, Izzy. 🎄
love your reactions! you should do wildest dreams from this same performance! would also love another longer one over on your patreon such as a tour reaction!
It's so refreshing to hear you talk about a song being primarily melody and lyrics and the chord progression being an accompaniment, not the song. She gets so much shade from certain quarters for using the same few chord progressions in many of her songs, and I always, always feel like they're just totally missing the point. It's a musical form, a foundation that, sure, almost anyone could use to write a song over, but there is almost no-one who can do it at the level she does. Anyway. Rant over. Love your reaction.
Thanks Ian! It's true and there are only 12 notes after all. I would like to do a video about this kind of stuff eventually. It's just finding the time to put it together.
Love waking up to a new video. I’m not sure if this is the word you were searching for, but she was definitely singing this with a certain amount of hubris.😂 Wishing you a Happy Holiday season ❤
Taylor's costumes, instruments, red carpet outfits and stage props and videos and photos have been on display (at the Country Music Hall of Fame) since Fearless Tour ended; after 1989, a traveling exhibit was curated by the folks at the Grammy Museum in LA. The amount of foot traffic it got along the way in different cities helps fund the museums that hosted along the way; final stop was LA. The various museums get funding through public donations, and by selling tickets and souvenirs --- and you've seen the traffic her fans can make. There are probably a half dozen "tribute acts" that tour just singing her stuff in smaller places or the cities left out of the tours.
I’ve been to the one at the Country Music Hall of Fame and it’s great. That’s how I learned she wrote “Better Man” for Little Big Town. I’d loved their version of the song and never knew she wrote it.
@@Amandaarford83Found out just a few days ago her koi fish guitar is part of the permanent display there; she borrows it back for the shows she uses it in. She wrote BM for Red, but didn't use it. There were several songs like that; she offered Babe to Sugarland, as well. She was always in the credits, though. I suspect the reason for not using it was numbers; she was 22 yo when she dropped the record, and the deluxe had 22 tracks. . . . . but, just a guess. istr Better Man got nominated for (among other things) song of the year (the writing award) at the ACMs in 2018? . . . . even though she hadn't attended for three or four years at that point. LBT did a great job with it, too. 👏🏻
Out of the Woods from this Grammy Museum performance is my favorite rendition of the song. It sounds *so* different from the original - it would be fun to see you do the studio version and the Grammy Museum performance back to back and compare them.
Taylor to me sounds better live than her studio albums. I know she performed two more songs Out of the Woods and Wildest Dreams. What I like about The Grammy Museum performance is she explains how she came up with the songs before she performs them.
It's easy to look back and say what I really felt was (I think the word you were looking for) disappointment. But maybe at the time you thought you felt heartbreak. There is no need to negate or lessen that feeling in hindsight. You felt what you felt. And maybe you were angry that you felt that way or disappointed that it didn't work out at that time. Distance and perspective changed how you look at that experience. We see that in Taylor's music. All Too Well is a great example in that we've seen her go through the stages of grief as she's gotten older and the different iterations of the song.
This series was great, Out of the Woods is my favourite of them, she does it on piano and it is the best version of the song I've heard. She does Wildest Dreams on electric guitar as well and it's pretty awesome too, please check out both!
I performed on the same stage as Taylor at Radio One’s Big Weekend in Swansea (where I live). I didn’t get to see Taylor unfortunately as our makeshift last minute choir of local singers (who backed Demi Lovato) were kept on a coach backstage until we went on and then shipped off in a coach and then we were allowed to go around and go in the actual festival 😅
I think she always sounds great but people make fun of her lack of vocal ability. And I think where she really shines is in her ability to be emotive and theatrical in her performances. (But I do think she has good vocals, but her ability to sell it is so impressive)
I love this set of songs among other things because it made me appreciate how much real scathing anger there is in 1989, underneath all the glitz and the determined push to shake things off. How You Get The Girl was the biggest revelation in this respect. She performed Wildest Dreams and Out of the woods as well. The wildest dreams version is one of my favorites.
Agree
Yup, Wildest Dreams with just the electric guitar is absolute chef's kiss
SAME!
Yes! Wildest Dreams is hands down one of Taylor’s best live performances. The way she strips back these songs to the bones of melody and lyrics but still makes them so dynamic is masterful.
Her Cornelia Street - Live from Paris performance is hands down her best just her and her guitar performance. Definitely worth checking out.
Also death by a thousand cuts Paris performance, amazing
One hundred % agree! Cornelia Street live in Paris is by by the best acoustic song she has done in my opinion. Her vocals are amazing the effortless switches between falsetto and belt ❤
Absolutely. Cornelia Street and Death by a Thousand Cuts at that venue are her best live acoustic performances, periodt.
He has done the city of lover fully on his Patreon if ya’ll want to go and see his reaction to those performances
@@o2low317 Came here to stan DBATC too, both the Paris version and the Tiny Desk performance.

Taylor is one of those artists that the studio version of their songs are great but she manages to be even better live.
I always enjoy your reactions! This girl has left her mark for years to come! Thanks, Cary! She has! I'm sure she'll continue to produce great work for years to come too!
Her melody writing in this song is CRIMINALLY underrated imo. I’m glad you appreciate it as much as I do. 😊

I LOVE her Grammy Museum performances. They’re all great but Wildest Dreams is my favorite.
your voice and accent sounds so soothing! i could literally fall asleep rn, it's relaxing and i mean it in the nicest possible way haha
Thanks!
Her voice is incredible here!
I had actually never seen this performance of hers. Thanks for this!

Acoustic / minimal production Taylor is my absolute favorite.
As many have said, her performance of Wildest Dreams from this same live set is incredible. She plays an electric guitar for it. Highly recommend!
Taylor is the best at letting the haters know how wrong they are, They don't know her, If that's her response I'm here for it.❤
8:23 she is a storyteller! She puts it across in all aspects of the music and in her vocal inflictions 😊

Thanks, Matthew! Definitely will do more of this performance and 1989 Tour Reaction will be coming over the next 2 Saturdays on Patreon.
Loved that performance! I’m definitely down for checking out the other songs she sang at this venue! Thanks for the reaction!
Great review! One of my fav reviews you’ve done ❤
Thanks, Suzanne!

Cool stuff, Ani! At least you got in for free for the rest of it. Cool to be involved to isn't it.
@ ironically I had already bought tickets 🤣 the choir was only put together about 2 weeks before and we only rehearsed twice 🤣 Only the best for Demi

This is her boyfriend, Travis Kelce's favorite song too. His other top 5 chg's a bit & evolves but, never this one.❤️🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
