Years ago I got invited to a 9000 acre Texas ranch for clean out deer, pigs, javelina etc cull hunt. Hunt isn’t the right word really. We were told to shoot as many of these animals as each 10 shooters could. Literally, hundreds of deer and pigs. I think there was 113 coyotes killed a few bobcats and one old old mountain lion. It was insane. There were like 30 volunteers cleaning and packaging the edible meat for a local food giveaway pantry. I literally had to pour water down my barrel at one point. That was on a Remington 700 .270. Now that was a real cull hunt. Enjoy watching your videos. 👍👍
What gun is it when you shoot the deer is the trees when you were looking for blood and it was in the creek it was 2 years ago if you cant remember don’t stress ❤
The guns we were using on the deer in this video are the browning .308 and 7mm-08. For longer range shooting we use the .300WSM. When we go pig hunting we take the 44 magnum for in the bush
Whst do you guys recommend for the best jacket pants for wet windy weather using hsrkila at the minute but to be honest can't rate it as it if definitely not waterproof
We use the new tussock pants from huntech and have found them really good. But if you are looking for full on wet weather gear you need something with a bib.
I think it's funny that in all other countries using a suppressor is seen as courteous but here in the United States the are a highly controlled Federal item.
@@clarkeboyshunting No. They put them in the same catagory called a class III item along with short barreled rifles and machine guns. You can own one if you want to pay for it and a tax stamp and go thru a 6 month background check before you can legally own one.
A tad surprised you never took more boar as they’re more of an issue than the deer. They multiply faster too which if you don’t sort out will destroy your farm and spread. Enjoyed the footage all the same.
They all ran into the neighbouring farms and we don’t want to wipe them out as there aren’t very many in our area. We just wanted to scare them off and catch 1 or 2 so they didn’t ruin the pasture. We like having wild pigs on the farm just not too many haha
Please provide info on Cal. ;Barrel length,, and why surpressors are so long ? Are suppressors screwed on end of barrel ? Or what ?? Great vid ,Great cause, THANKS.
Give dad shit Sam, its a given. Hey guys, can you give a quick run down on your guns, scopes and or hardware at the start of every vid? I’m always interested in wha you are using. Cheers guys.
If only those days were still around and you could make a living from doing that. Would have been great for young keen hunters to get stuck into and keep the deer numbers under control.
@@clarkeboyshunting Would be unlikely to have so many easy places so riddled with pests like so much of NZ has become, mostly due to attitudes and abilities. Sacking the useless was far easier back in real times. Having some landowners protect vermin so they could actually get some was rife then also, including the skin days. Got worse with carcass/live capture. Hunting has probably never been so easy or thereabouts as now, which shows the validity of hunters keeping numbers under control. Which commercial aerial hunting did achieve particularly in some open country for a couple of decades, and lowered the population significantly. Many pro hunters (commercial and culling) regarded rec hunters as another form of pest, and the latter group has done little to dispel that in recent times. They are a valid outdoor recreation group, but for pest control generally ineffective, often worse. The culling times probably didn't benefit pest control greatly in many areas either, might have kept the animals healthier. Misunderstandings what it consists of are no better among most today, numbers killed and control are not the same e.g. If the pigs were under control pastures wouldn't be upside down.
My hat comes off to you Pete for giving your family the opportunity to have such a fine resource. Fn legend in my books.

living the dream, you guys!! I can't get enough of watching your content!!!
Thanks for watching🤙
Love your content. Pigs run in sounders. Deer run in herds. Criminals run in MOBS. Maybe it is just me, in Springbok herd country.
Haha yea sorry not the correct terminology but that’s what everyone says in nz. The amount of damage they did to the farm was criminal😅
After watching your videos I want to move from the USA to New Zealand. What a beautiful country. You guys are truly blessed!!!!!
Thanks for watching! NZ is an amazing place to live. We are very lucky to be born here.

Legend! Yea it’s a beautiful place. The deer is a major bonus. Thanks for watching👍
That was good video boys keep it up
Cheers Matt
Must be nice hunting with a 4 Wheeler!🤙 Where I'm from it's all about climbing those mountains and being very, very quiet.🤫🤫
Yea it’s certainly a different type of hunting. Not as rewarding as the big public land hunts but still a fun form of hunting and gathering meat
What gun is it when you shoot the deer is the trees when you were looking for blood and it was in the creek it was 2 years ago if you cant remember don’t stress ❤
Do you guys have a video about the guns and ammo you use for each animal?

Cheers Shaun🤙
They seem so casual about all the damage those things do, rooting up the pasture!
Haha yea it’s a big farm and they were just in one small area but yes it was a bit worse than we thought
If 2 outa three aint bad. Then 3 outer 4 gota be good.
👍
Another really enjoyable and well made vid. Thanks to you all.
Awesome work boys..good to see ol Pete out..a few veni's sucked the kumra 🤣🤣
Yep lots of kumara sucking in this video haha
What type of guns were used?
Browning a-bolt .308, a-bolt 7mm08 mostly.
Family banter makes me laugh. Looks like a great spot for some r an r
Haha yea watching it back made me laugh a few times. Good memories, glad you enjoyed it.
That was a good result out of that situation. Very hard when there are to many deer together. And 3 hunters.
Yep shame we didn’t all shoot at different deer but at least we got a few down and no wounders
What rifles are you guys using?
Black gun is a browning a-bolt 7mm08, wooden gun is a browning a-bolt .308.
Awesome boys Kai mo te tepu
Do you guys harvest the organs to eat?
Nah we don’t usually on our deer
You beauty from Australia good on you lads
Cheer mate

Yeah saw a guy from USA in Our local hunting and fishing store. He couldn't believe silencers/ suppressors were totally legal.
What kind of dogs are they?
Greyhound x cattle x bully x random other stuff
What gun was Pete shooting
Browning a-bolt .308 with a Hardy’s suppressor and subsonic ammo
What caliber is that ? 223 ?
The black synthetic stainless gun is a 7mm08. The Camo gun with gold barrel is .308 and the wooden stock gun is a .308 using subsonic ammunition
Those size pigs r good training for the pups
The sow we caught was around 80-90lb but there were pigs off all different sizes in the mob
That sow looked part Tamworth.those big ears aren't cooker ears..

Well done guys good shooting all healthy looking deer and the pig good thing you all did for your local community too 😉

We will try make a full review of our guns soon to cover everything
Awesome footage of the dogs hitting them from across the valley. Nice vid lads
Dog cam would probably work at Ohakune. Bush isn’t so thick. Maybe next time
Geez deer and pigs everywhere. Meat to heaven!!
Yep the freezer was full after this hunt!

Will try and incorporate a bit more of that going forwards
Yer nice work. Rekon the old deer cullers were better. No offence. Thanks

Yea great place for a hunter that’s for sure

why did u kill mobs of pig and deer. Were they pelting stones on ur house.
Did you watch the video? If we don’t shoot them their numbers get too high and they eat and destroy the pasture that we need to feed our farm animals.
Try ur sows belly in the boil up bros. It's mean. 🐗💯👍🏾
Can honestly say I’ve never had a boil up. Might be time I reckon
Ye bros, tomuch the hunting, you fallas r on. You hunt AOTEAROA the way its suppose to be hunted, welldone.
