How does a coup even become an option because you do not agree with a government policy? Did everybody like every policy between 1992-2000 or 2009-2016. What sort of intolerance is this. Even when we had opaque ballot boxes, we dialogue, debated and argued in courts to bring change, and then used our thumbs to vote out after 4yrs. What is this incessant crave for power as if Ghana belongs to only a group of people. Will your party be installed into power after a coup? What happened to the beauty of democracy!

I have lived through all the coups and i will say "never again". All that Sefa is saying is really true. Even at the age of 6 yrs i witnessed what they did to Nkrumah. 1979 & 1981 were terrible, most especially in Kumasi.

WhT can we do when the likes of Asiedu Nketia and all those who benefited from Rawlings coup to be somebody want to create conditions for a coup d’etat. I don’t know why they are still hiding under the shade of their ndc party to claim to be democratic. A true Democratic Party would never ever clamor for and inciting coups and calling for civil disobedience and chaos.

KSK those coup mongers don't know what they are talking about. They just read it from the books. Those of us who are above 60 years saw it and it was pathetic. A cousin of mine was nearly killed by a soldier at Maamobi just because the previous week he had beaten him in a Ludo competition and was teasing him. Fortunately he had gone to Accra New Town and when he got the hint he never returned to Maamobi again leaving the house he built behind for so many years because the soldier was his neighbour.

The sad thing is that the vast majority of those who destroyed lives with impunity did nothing to better their own lives or the lives of their loved ones. Many wasted the opportunities that they could have benefitted from.
Two soldiers, Goka and Laryea were the scourge of the lives of many families. Where are they now? Due to their reckless activities, they did not even survive long enough to appear before truth and reconciliation.
The military response only hands over corrupt practices to a new generation who would otherwise have not gained such access, or lack the nous or wisdom to deal with such power responsibly.

How should it enter the head of someone as an option to a disagreement to a government policy. It is not as if someone has entrenched himself that he won't allow elections after 4yrs. If you don't think we have developed enough you debate your point and ask people to vote for change when the time comes. Don't even encourage and entertain the thought that some people could do that.

When we got there the driver in his own wisdom stopped and got all the passengers out and locked his car forcing me as a teenager to watch the killing of Akuffo and others. My reason for never to vote NDC in my life time. I’m still struggling with the scene.

However, a prominent Akuapem chief and business man like B B Bismark with a status similar to Togbe Afede got missing under Rawlings and nobody could say fi.
