    The Handling Speciale option is a virtual "must-do" as well as an upgrade/personalization of the interior. Two small bags in the boot, two small bags in the rear seats, two turbos and two people in the front seats and it's one of the finest GTs out there. Bellissima!

  • @atticus6572

    I'd consider myself an enthusiast, like most of us here, and can still proudly say that I love the California. A stunning, all-round package like this is something to be respected. If I were to get one though, I would most definitely opt for the handling package. Phenomenal job as always, Carfection.

    • @Nemoticon

      +Kean Kakeesh The F40 is nothing BUT turbo lag. When the turbos finally kick in, its like Mike Tyson smashing you in the face, bare knuckled! But what is astonishing about the F40 is that it just keeps on revving all the way up to 7000rpm. Back in the day, for a turbo, that high rev line was truly something new.

    After years of being hardcore, they just realizes people that can buy them don't care about speed, sounds, and soul. They just want a drivable car, with a Ferrari tag on it. But, beside that tag, what are you buying for that much money? Well, I am sure people that can buy it don't care.

    a reason Ferrari sold so many of the old Californias may be that you had to buy one before you could buy any other one

    • @ramsimon8045
      @ramsimon8045 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Elliot James ah that's not really true for their most models. I know for the longest time that myth that has been floating around Internet, that's true only for their legacy and hyper-exotic cars, that applies to Enzo, La Ferrari and mostly to their old models, but aside from brand new La Ferrari you can pretty much walk in dealership and purchase any Ferrari made in last decade without any prior Ferrari ownership.

    • @Vincent_Gambini
      @Vincent_Gambini 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you claim is not entirely true whatsoever. Yes, anybody can walk into a Ferrari store and pretty much buy whatever car they have in inventory (e.g. pre-owned Ferrari and usually demo models if they have not already been spoken for). But as far as anybody walking into a Ferrari store and allowed to order a new Ferrari of their choice? LOL. Not so fast. It's a lot harder than you think.
      The rule of thumb at Ferrari is the higher up the model range you go, the harder they are to get. Your first-time Ferrari buyer, who is unknown to the dealer, does not have any connections to brand, has not established a profile with the company, and who is not "in the books" as it were, otherwise stands no chance of ordering a new Ferrari unless it's the California T, their gateway car into the brand. Dealers are allocated the 488 GTB/Spider, F12 (whose order books were officially closed a month ago), and GTC4 Lusso. These cars just don't go to anybody. They go to their long-established clients who locked these models out years ago and who are given top priority by the dealer. Your first-time unknown being allowed to order a 488, the successor to the F12, or a GTC4 Lusso? Not happening. Buy a few Ferrari pre-owned or a new California T, and then you can talk. Otherwise, forget it.

    • @elliotjames158
      @elliotjames158 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vincent Gambini true

    • @Vincent_Gambini
      @Vincent_Gambini 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many people seem to think that anyone, even an unknown person to Ferrari, and someone who has no relationship whatsoever with a Ferrari dealer, can just walk in and order a brand new 488 GTB even. Umm ... NOPE! Not happening. This is not a Ford or Chevy dealer we're talking about here. Anything that is above a California T from brand new requires the brownie-points as it were. That simple; period. Have a look at the following link. This person is a multiple time Ferrari owner in the UK. Let him tell you what it took to finally get a built slot for a 458 Speciale he waited two years to take delivery. His experience is accurate: www.mrjww.com/news/2015/10/8/ordering-a-ferrari-458-special
      True, the California T is officially Ferrari's entry-level grand turismo that can be used on a daily basis. But informally and unofficially, aside from purchasing a pre-owned Ferrari, it's Ferrari's gateway car into the brand for first-time buyers. Order a California T, enjoy it for 6-9 months before consigning it for MSRP, and then we can think about ordering one further up the range.

    • @francismarasiganiii4549
      @francismarasiganiii4549 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Vincent Gambini I agree with you. Ferrari wants you to work your way up to their ladder when it comes to buying their exotic lineups. You start at buying pre-owned vehicles or with the California T.

    Why is the UK and the US has different steering sides?

    • @givemeajackson
      @givemeajackson 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Megat Afiq cause people drive on the left side of the road in britain, and you want the driver to be in the middle of the road for better visibility.

      I didn't read your question.

    • @NoggintheNog37
      @NoggintheNog37 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Megat Afiq we drive on the left side of the road, because in the past as most people are right handed, staying on the left meant your sword arm, the right, was nearer any potential opponent.
      The US and elsewhere drive on the right of the road as they used teams of horses and the driver used to sit on left hand side, so they drove on the right to keep in the middle. The UK and its colonies never changed, everyone else did.
      So, it keeps our sword arms free.

    • @givemeajackson
      @givemeajackson 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nogginthenog the reason people outside the uk drive on the right is because napoleon trained his riders to fight with their left arm and approach from the right, to catch riders used to fighting with their right arm off guard.

    Ferraris are some the Best Sports Performance cars available today. They sound Sensational, they look Stunning, they are basically "Road Registrable Art."
    The thing that really concerns me is, that the gentleman who put Scuderia Ferrari back on the Automotive Pedestal, Luca Di Montezemolo, is no longer guiding this Iconic Car Brand!
    Signor Di Montezemolo was put in charge of Ferrari in November 1991, Ferrari was in a very poor position, her F1 cars were losing, and their Road cars were quiet average at best. Luca Di Montezemolo guided the brand back from Financial Lose making basket case, to a Strong Profitable Position. He was involved in the purchase of Maserati in 1997, and again was instrumental in the turn around of this Italian Icon. Di Montezemolo was also behind, and heavily involved in Ferrari's F1 return to the Podium, with a Drivers Championship Win in 2000, which was a first for Ferrari since 1979.
    A Gentleman by the name of Sergio Marchionne, decided that Luca's Stewardship of Ferrari was no longer needed, as he was contemplating selling a Part of this Legendary Brand to Private Investors.
    Marchionne, whilst denying that he and Luca were in any disagreement, applied great pressure / tension to force Di Montezemolo to resign from Ferrari, and thus installed himself as head honcho.
    My point is, Ferrari is still producing cars, that had been designed, engineered and furnessed, under guidance and love of the legendary Signor Di Montezemolo.
    So we are yet to see any Ferrari Product, that has been started and completed under Mr Marchionne's guidance. This could very well be a problem, as the Fiat Chrysler Group, are basically a Financial Basket Case, as well as one of the Automotive Industries most Unreliable Car Makers.
    Marchionne is trying to borrow enough money to redesign many of the groups less than competitive name plates, by selling part of Ferrari, plus putting the companies brands up as collateral for loans.... Of which $6 Billion will be used for model expansion for Alfa Romeo alone.
    Ferrari and Maserati are about the only profitable (automotive) divisions of the Fiat Chrysler Group. Though the new Alfa Giulia is a beautiful looking car, it has many unsatisfactory components, that are a generation behind its direct competitors. Its touch infotainment screen is not up to the job, it is suffers lag and sensitivity issues. It also suffered design engineering issues, which threatened to limit its salability in many markets such as America. This is especially worrying, considering the resources the company expended developing the Giulia.
    In my opinion, Mr Marchionne should apply himself to running the parent company, and allow his many senior managers the latitude to run their respective divisions. If Mr Marchionne had practiced this formula, Mr Di Montezemolo would still be guiding Ferrari from strength to strength, and they may well be still competitive in Formula 1 Racing, just the way Enzo Ferrari would appreciate.

    Turbo direction is a mistake which makes all newer cars not fun to drive because of too much power.
    Original car was more fun at low speeds.
    All it needed is gated manual and a but stiffer suspension.
    They should focus on winning races and be bored at speed limit

    The part about servicing was a silly comment. Watch what happens when something breaks on the Ferrari under warranty, your warranty wont mean anything...
    Nice car though

    You Brits always complain about the weather over there, but at least you all get to wear sweet jackets. I've noticed you must be a jacket fan, as am I, but sadly my location of residence doesn't really permit jackets at all any time of year lol.

    I hate to say this, but ever since you (XCAR) have changed your name the video content has been cascading. I remember first subscribing many years ago because your content was exciting, intriguing and kept me involved. This is no longer the XCAR that I remember. I don't know what is happening with the Carfection crew behind camera, but you guys have lost my interest. I'm afraid to say I'll be unsubscribing for now until the content improves or either the people behind the XCAR name I used to know really come back. Goodbye XCAR.
